Ryan Philippe is getting candid.

The Shooter actor, who has spoken publicly about his battle with depression, is broaching the topic of how it should be treated. In a recent interview with Women’s Health, he opened up about the fact that he doesn’t think a one-size-fits-all approach works.

“I believe that depression and mood disorders are on a spectrum akin to the way autism is, where it’s an individual experience,” he said. “I think people fear being stigmatized or treated in a blanket fashion, which is sometimes the response to someone who says, ‘I struggle with depression. »

Second Trailer for 'Same Kind of Different as Me' with Greg Kinnear

6 August 2017 4:52 PM, PDT | firstshowing.net | See recent FirstShowing.net news »

"Amazing how far a little tender lovin' care can go." Paramount and PureFlix have debuted another new official trailer for the heartfelt drama Same Kind of Different as Me, from director Michael Carney. This was originally scheduled to open in February, but was delayed seven months and is now being released in October, if anyone still wants to see it. Greg Kinnear stars as a family man who befriends a homeless man, played by Djimon Hounsou, and changes his life through a bit of kindness and friendship. The film also stars Renée Zellweger in one of her other major roles (aside from Bridget Jones's Baby) after her hiatus, along with Jon Voight, Olivia Holt, Ty Parker and others. This doesn't look any better than it did when we posted the first trailer last year, but perhaps these a few good performances in this worth appreciating. Here's the second trailer (+ poster »

Golden Globes’ Biggest Red Carpet Rebels

2 August 2017 10:00 AM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

The Academy Awards has a long reputation of being the straight-a cheerleader big sister to the Golden Globes’ more rebellious, drama club younger sibling, at least as far as its fashions are concerned. Save for some break-the-mold looks like Bjork’s infamous swan dress (and, lest we forget, its accompanying egg clutch) and Cher’s Bob Mackie headdress, the Oscars are remembered for polished jewels while the Globes are there for stars to make statements.

The go-to example for this argument is still, now over a decade later, “The Practice” star Lara Flynn Boyle’s skimpy petal pink prima ballerina faux paus from the 2003 ceremony. The get-up served its purpose; that is, it changed her narrative for the evening from solely being about her recent breakup with Jack Nicholson, who would win lead actor in a motion picture drama for “About Schmidt” (he told the Associated Press that Boyle’s Swarovski-dazzled tulle skirt and matching Chanel shoes »

‘The Big Sick’ Makes You Wonder: Where Have All the Romcoms Gone?

26 July 2017 1:21 PM, PDT | Variety - Film News | See recent Variety - Film News news »

The Big Sick,” the indie-crossover hit of the summer, is the sharpest, funniest, and most touching romantic comedy in a long time, and that should be a shot in the arm for romantic comedies everywhere. Except for one small detail: There aren’t any! They’ve all disappeared! Gone to that great big DVD player in the sky! (Somewhere up in Heaven, Nora Ephron is watching one right now, smirking and sighing.) There’s surely a micro-budgeted exception or two I’m not thinking of, but in the ’90s, the ’00s, and into the ’10s, you could count on the appearance, every few months, and certainly once or twice a summer, of a major movie that was some sort of cheesy-tasty screwball knockoff of the romantic comedies of old. It might star Sandra Bullock or Reese Witherspoon, Renée Zellweger or Drew Barrymore, Jennifer Garner or Marisa Tomei, Kate Hudson or Katherine Heigl, or »
