I don’t know about other interviewers and whether they have a favorite interviewee, but mine, hands down, is Michael Rooker. The guy is the total package: hilarious, serious about his craft, a goofball at times, but always willing to talk about his latest or upcoming projects. And he’s just Such a nice guy!
So, when "The Walking Dead" started, I knew I had to interview him for that as his character quickly became a fan favorite. Then, I got the bonus of discussing Rooker’s directorial debut, also in the horror genre, Pennhurst. The interview that follows took over two hours to conduct and a few extra days of back and forth to clean things up, but it was one of the most hilarious interviews I’ve done in quite a while.
Read on for Part One, focusing on "The Walking Dead", and look for Part Two, all about Pennhurst, »

Maybe it's because it's the holiday season, or perhaps it's just because it's one of those cosmic days on the calendar, but there isn't a lot of history to commemorate today. Sure, we could celebrate the release of the first album by T.a.T.u. or raise a glass to Ladanian Tomlinson breaking the all-time single season touchdown record (he ran in for his 29th score against the Denver Broncos, passing Shaun Alexander — remember him? — for the record that still stands today), but how satisfying would those really be? So in lieu of trying to stretch the limits of this feature, let's just throw the premise out entirely and talk about Spacehog.
All for members of Spacehog are English, but the band formed in New York City in 1994. Their post-modern take on glam rock didn't necessarily fit in with the grunge era, but that didn't stop them from scoring »

Do you remember the Super Mario Bros movie? Either you’ve erased it from your memory, or failing that, it’s ingrained itself onto your brain forever, like some virtual cattle-brand. It was the stuff of nightmares, a true example of Hollywood at its appallingly naïve worst. They took a game based on a fundamentally light-hearted adventure in which two whacky Italian brothers side-scroll across the screen, jumping on Goombas and eating colourful mushrooms (which explains a great deal)... and turned it into a dystopian B-movie. It had zero resemblance to the game except for the slapped-on character names.
Yet for the changes within the industry itself, Hollywood’s take hasn’t changed a bit. If you take a look at the track record of game-to-movie adaptations across the years, it’s plain to see that the standard has not been raised one bit. Movies like Street Fighter, House of the Dead, »

Liv Tyler has declared that she always feels more childlike during the holiday season. Speaking to People, the star admitted that she will barely be able to contain her enthusiasm on Christmas morning. "I am so silly," she said. "I wake up at six in the morning on Christmas morning to rush to my stocking, still, as if I were 5." Tyler also expressed wonderment at her 5-year-old son Milo's fascination (more) »

She may be single, but dating is not Liv Tyler's forte. "I've never really dated before," the actress, 33, tells People Wednesday night at the Christian Dior 57th Street Flagship opening in New York. "I'm not a very good person to ask about dating." Since splitting from husband Royston Langdon in 2008, Tyler has been unattached, focusing instead on the other guy in her life: son Milo, who turns six in December. And it looks like he's pretty easy to please. Related: Liv Tyler's Son: Mommy is 'My Princess'"My son is obsessed with the most basic things," says the Incredible Hulk star, »

Natalie Portman, Leighton Meester, Liv Tyler, and Amy Adams came together last night to christen Dior's newly reopened 57th Street boutique in NYC. Natalie, who was wearing a dress from the high-end brand, took a break from promoting Black Swan to kick back for an evening of fashion and cocktails with designer John Galliano. Portman is an award season favorite already and joined other statue-hopefuls like Bardem, Damon, and Franco for an artsy NY Times Magazine spread. Leighton Meester arrived wearing another dark look, though this time she traded the androgynous trend for a flirty flair. Leighton's a big fan of Dior makeup, but it's her contract with Herbal Essences that got the Gossip Girl star talking about hair and beauty as well as dishing the dirt on her Country Strong costar Gwyneth Paltrow. Gwyneth's live performance during the Cma Awards got fans excited for the holiday release of their »

Orlando Bloom is ‘close to a deal’ to reprise Legolas for The Hobbit according to Deadline, the second of the Lotr veterans to return to Middle-Earth after Cate Blanchett’s Galadriel – two characters who don’t appear in J.R.R. Tolkien’s original text.
Legolas’ appearance clearly makes sense as the character is over a thousand years old, so continuity wise Peter Jackson can easily use the same actor without much trouble. As The One Ring says;
Since Legolas is the son of Thranduil (The Elvenking), a major player in ‘The Hobbit,’ one can easily see Peter, Phillipa, and Fran writing him into the script. *Minor Spoilers* Not only would he appear in Mirkwood with the other wood-elves, he could very well lead the wood-elf contingent into the Battle of Five Armies!
Presumably Thranduil, The Elvenking is the role David Tennant has been in talks for, and it’s easy to »

A new Middle Earth rumor is floating around today - according to Deadline, Orlando Bloom may be the next elf to reprise his role in The Hobbit. Cate Blanchett confirmed earlier this week that she would come back as Galadriel, the elf queen. Orlando Bloom actually stated his interest in returning as Legolas as early as January of 2010, in this interview with MTV.
While many fans of the movies are pleased with the news about Cate, and the possibility of Bloom's return, die-hard fans of the books may be confused, as neither character actually appeared in The Hobbit. However, considering the long elvish life span, and the timing of the Hobbit prequel, the characters can be incorporated into the story without breaking down the Middle Earth universe.
If only Liv Tyler would come back as well, they could have a most-pretty-elf trifecta. »

When guests started arriving at the Darby Restaurant in New York City on Dec. 6, they were looking forward to a nice night for a nice cause, having dinner and raising money for the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project charity. What they didn’t know was that celebrity actress Charlize Theron herself would be one of items auctioned off. Well, sort of. The 35-year-old Oscar award-winning celebrity actress added herself to one of the items being auctioned off at the charity event. The item up for bid was a pair of courtside seats to an upcoming Los Angeles Lakers basketball game. While the guests were bidding on the tickets, celebrity actress Charlize Theron announced that she would gladly serve as a date for the game. Needless to say, the bidding became quite fierce, as the chance to be seen in public with the blonde bombshell Charlize Theron was an offer way to good to pass up. »

Charlize Theron has auctioned a date with herself for charity. The 35-year-old actress, who has been single since splitting from long-term boyfriend Stuart Townsend earlier this year, offered to attend a Los Angeles Lakers basketball game with whoever bid the highest for a pair of court-side tickets at a fundraiser in New York on Monday night, December 6.
"All the men in the room were doubling the bids on the courtside Lakers tickets if Charlize attended the game with them," a source who attended the Charlize Theron Africa Outreach Project dinner and auction at the Darby Restaurant told Just Jared. "She agreed to attend for $20,000."
The "Monster" actress launched her charity, which aims to create safer and healthier lives for at-risk children and communities in South Africa, especially those affected by HIV and Aids, in 2007.
Charlize's close pal Liv Tyler attended the event to see her friend being auctioned off for charity. »

Hollywood's making it too easy. Liv Tyler looks like a drag queen who stole a homeless man's shoes while Diane Kruger's dressed like a dumb waitress who can't get my order right.
