Gene Simmons has a 'boy crush' on George Clooney. The Kiss bass player admitted he finds the hunky actor attractive at the Carousel of Hope gala on Saturday (20.10.12) in Beverly Hills, California, at which George was the guest of honour for his philanthropic work. Gene told ETonline.com: 'What do you girls say when you like another girl, but you're straight?' When told he was referring to a 'girl crush,' he added, 'George could be my 'boy crush',' as he raised his eyebrows and tilted his sunglasses. Gene's wife, Shannon Tweed, was also very complimentary about George, praising his giving nature. She added: 'You can't even fault anything about George. As much as you wanna criticise »
"American Idol" isn't the only Fox reality singing competition with children of major celebrities stepping up to the audition plate. On Wednesday's episode of "The X Factor," Gene Simmons and Shannon Tweed's daughter -- Sophie -- tested out her pipes in front of the panel, not unlike Jane Carrey (Jim's daughter) on "Idol" last season.
"I'm Sophie Tweed-Simmons," the reality star (from the now-canceled ...

The men want their avocados; the evil feminist cannibal piranha women have control of the avocado jungle, what will we do? That’s right; send Shannon Tweed in to save the day. If you think that’s corny then you will totally understand what Cannibal Women in the Avocado Jungle of Death is aiming for, all under the guise of being a “Grindhouse Classic”.
The government (the evil Men) hire a prominent feminist lecturer from a university to venture into the Avocado Jungle (somewhere in California from what I can gather) to mediate with the cannibal women who live there. Offering a reservation condo complex in Malibu in return of the jungle they hope to placate the feministic women and get to the fruit which is dangerously low in stock. »

Gene Simmons's reality show Family Jewels has been cancelled, it has been reported. The Kiss frontman stars on the unscripted series with his partner Shannon Tweed and teenage son and daughter Nick and Sophie Simmons. Broadcast on the A&E network, the show debuted in 2006 to solid ratings, but has since seen a gradual slip in viewership. "For seven great seasons, Gene, Shannon, Nick and Sophie have been part of the A&E family and we could not be more proud of the unparalled run of Gene Simmons Family Jewels," the network said in a statement obtained by The Hollywood Reporter. "On behalf of everyone at A&E, we'd like (more) »

“For seven great seasons, Gene, Shannon, Nick and Sophie have been part of the A&E family, and we could not be more proud of the unparalleled run of Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” the cabler announced Wednesday in a statement to The Hollywood Reporter (who first reported the news). ”On behalf of everyone at A&E, we’d like to thank the production team at Thinkfactory Media, Gene and his amazing family for their partnership, collaboration and for opening up their lives, warts-and-all, to us throughout the years. »

The changing of the guard in A&E’s unscripted lineup continues. Following the cancellation of Dog The Bounty Hunter in May after eight seasons, the cable network is ending another veteran docu-reality series that helped put it on the map, Gene Simmons Family Jewels. “We could not be more proud of the unparalleled run of Gene Simmons Family Jewels,” A&E said in a statement. Added the Simmons clan, “It has been a wonderful life-altering experience for our family and after seven successful seasons, we feel it’s time to move on.” As with Dog The Bounty Hunter, the cancellation of Family Jewels comes amid a ratings decline as the show, like all aging series, has become increasingly expensive. In the most recent season this summer, Family Jewels averaged around 1 million viewers, down from the record 3 million who tuned in for the season finale last summer featuring the Kiss »

A&E is pulling the plug on Gene Simmons Family Jewels. Shannon Tweed is a beautiful woman. She is also an intelligent woman, as it takes more than beauty to sustain a career that will last this long. Shannon Lee Tweed was born on March 10, 1957 in St. John's, Newfoundland, Canada. Her star sign is Pisces. Her father ran a mink ranch in Markland, Canada where Shannon was raised with her sisters, Tracy, Sara and Kim and her brothers Lance and Jeff. Her father was in a automobile crash and was severely injured. Her mother struggled to support her and seven children all alone while her husband was recuperating. It took a long time for him to recover and eventually, Mrs. Tweed was forced to sell the ranch. She did not tell her husband what she had done to survive and when he found out, he divorced her. Mrs. Tweed moved her family to her home town of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. There, Shannon »

The Samurai Trilogy (Criterion) Director Hiroshi Inagaki’s sprawling epic filmed from 1954-56 is an early Japanese Technicolor masterpiece, rivaling the scope of filmmakers like David Lean and Luchino Visconti. Toshiro Mifune, Japan’s greatest actor, stars as real-life swordsman, artist and writer Musashi Miyamoto, following his growth from callow youth to disciplined warrior. The three films: the Oscar winning “Musashi Miyamoto,” “Duel at Ichijoji Temple,” and “Duel at Ganryu Island” are an incredible story of human growth, tender love and sublime, blood-soaked action. Not to be missed. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Interviews with translator and historian William Scott Wilson; Trailers. Full screen. Dolby 1.0 mono.
The 39 Steps (Criterion) Alfred Hitchcock’s 1935 story of spies, conspiracies and sexual tension put him on the map on both sides of the Pond. Robert Donat stars as an innocent thrust into a deadly plot alongside a cool blonde (Madeleine Carroll »

The decision to bring another child into any family is a major one. Shannon Tweed has faced perhaps more hurdles than most in her long saga regarding adoption on "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" (Mon., 9 p.m. Et on A&E). Without the support of her family behind her, it's been an emotional and lonely journey for Shannon.
Finally, though, she came to a decision. "It's really a bad idea for our family to adopt right now," she told the assembled clan. "For this to happen, it has to be a united family idea, not just me."
So while it sounds like Shannon would still like to bring another child into the family, she's not willing to do so unless the family is on board -- which means it isn't likely to happen any time soon.
With the adoption issue behind them, "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" continues Mondays at 9 p.m. »

How is it possible that this show has been on for six seasons? Firefly only lasted one and is a masterpiece. Such is the case of cheaply-produced, poorly written “reality” television. Rock icon Gene Simmons stars in Gene Simmons: Family Jewels which is like a bargain basement version of The Osbournes only not as funny and lacking anyone interesting (with the exception of Gene himself).
The first episode of season six opens with Gene’s long time girlfriend having left him. Over the course of the first few episodes, we learn why. With daughter Sophie off to college, and Nick doing his own thing, former Playboy Playmate Shannon Tweed (Gene’s chick of 20+ years) has all of a sudden grown tired of the way the father of her children keeps them in the lap of luxury. It’s like all of a sudden she’s having a revelation that he uses young, »

In the season premiere of "Gene Simmons Family Jewels" (Mon., 9 p.m. Et on A&E), Shannon Tweed was alone in her desire to see her and Gene adopt. By the time this week's second and third installments came along, Gene seemed to be changing his mind. That said, Gene also admitted that he was against both of his children and his marriage before they happened, but that now he's happy with all three developments. So maybe he just resists change.
Both parents were surprised by the negative reaction of their children, considering that both Nick and Sophie are adults now. Why are they so against it? For Nick, it stemmed with his own uncertainties about his own future, and the fact that at the same time they're exploring bringing another kid into their home, they're kind of pushing him out of it.

After the show’s most successful season ever — wedding drama can do that — Gene Simmons Family Jewels returns for its seventh season on Monday, May 28 with a special one-hour premiere. The long-running A&E reality show, about the Kiss frontman’s family, is not settling into marital bliss — after all, he and newlywed Shannon Tweed have two kids from their 28 years together as a couple. The thing is, she wants another child.
Shannon wants to adopt; Gene and the two children, Nick and Sophie, do not. Care to wager who gets their way? If this clip from the premiere is any indication, »

I love Die Hard. I’ve seen it so many times. I’ll even watch it on AMC in its miserable edited glory. It was the perfect combination of the average guy as the hero, action, story and humor. What I didn’t like about Die Hard was the endless parade of Die Hard on a….type stories that were thrust down our throats (e.g.: No Contest with Andrew Dice Clay and Shannon Tweed…Die Hard at a Beauty Contest...seriously). Well it looks like the formula is coming back with not one, but two projects; both set at the White House….shoot me now. »

The action movie. It’s my bread and butter. Give me 90 minutes of arse-kicking over the latest critically acclaimed drama any day. But between the constant stream of new action flicks coming out of Hollywood via for your attention alongside a barrage of straight to DVD releases it can be hard to find the really Good action movies these days – you can’t even rely on the big name action stars to provide solid action entertainment these days!
So with that in mind I thought I’d complied my Top 30 underrated action movies – those that may have slipped under the radar of all but those that scour Impact Magazine cover to cover, but definitely deserve hunting down. In part one I’m taking a look at the films 30 – 21. So in no particular order…

When I first had the idea to do a compendium of the "best" Die Hard knock-off movies, I didn't stop to think A) if other writers have done this piece recently, and B) how tough it is to actually define what a true "Die Hard knock-off" is. Regarding the first concern, meh, it'll be fun anyway, and regarding the second ... I'll keep it to a low number. Say ... five. (Or six.) That way you can toss your own suggestions into the comments section or head off to twitter and call me a fool for somehow omitting the 1996 uber-classic Skyscraper, starring Anna Nicole Smith in the John McClane-ish role (and yes that's a real movie). Ooh, or No Contest, with Shannon Tweed. So awesomely awful. Regarding Die Hard itself, it still remains one of the...
