According to Moviehole, actor/director Mel Gibson's production company has announced that it will be producing Mad Max 4. Whether or not that means Gibson will be reprising his iconic role in what is rumored to be a prequel is unsure, but news that he's committed to the flick can only be a good sign.
Mad Max director George Miller says he wants Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron in the fourth movie. Hardy was previously reported as having won the lead as young Max, but now says that he is yet to get an official offer and that his audition had nothing to do with the lead character.
It's still too early to tell how all of this will shake out, but we can't imagine a Mad Max movie without Mel — even if he's only there to provide flashbacks.

Charlize Theron took time out to shop with her mother over the holidays. The no-nonsense beauty did not bother to dress up or don make-up when she was spotted at Barneys in Los Angeles. Theron, 34, and mum Gerda checked out shoes in a low-key visit, during which observers noted the Oscar winner's serious demeanour. Theron has expressed concern with the celebrity culture she believes is overtaking acting. She earlier said: 'Somewhere along the line we forgot what actors do. All of a sudden, somehow, the fashion industry crept into the movie industry. Celebrity has really taken over and overshadowed what actors do. Actors aren't supposed to be beautiful, actors are supposed to tell human »

She purposely packed on about 20 pounds to play a pump-alicious 1920s Italian whore in the just-released movie musical. Ms. Fergie isn't alone in the girth-for-gelt department. She follows in the method-acting, plus-size footsteps of folks like George Clooney, Matt Damon and Charlize Theron, who have also let themselves go to play characters with bigger waistlines, bellies and bootys. Check out our new gallery for these and more unforgettable Hollywood fatties, including one hottie who packed on a whopping 67 pounds for his wide-load role. »

Just two years ago The Coen Brothers directed one of the best adaptations of recent years – No Country for Old Men. What made that ten times more difficult was that the novel was by the masterful Cormac McCarthy, easily one of the worldʼs elite writers. Now, adapting a novel as introverted and thoughtful as The Road was an even more ridiculous idea, considering the content of the novel itself. The Road tells the story of a father (Viggo Mortensen) and son (Kodi Smit-McPhee) trekking across a post-apocalyptic United States in order to arrive at the coast for the simple reason of finding others, food and shelter. The world has been decimated by an unknown culprit, which is never explained, but ultimately doesnʼt matter. Civilization has been largely wiped out, but it seems a majority of the remaining survivors have been stripped of their humanity; groups of people have resorted to »
