Georgia
Opens: 2010
Cast: Val Kilmer, Andy Garcia, Rupert Friend, Emmanuelle Chriqui, Johnathon Schaech
Director: Renny Harlin
Summary: An American journalist, his cameraman, and a Georgian native get caught in the crossfire of the five-day Russia-Georgia conflict in August 2008, and then have to deal with their obligation to be impartial.
Analysis: A timely parable on war, or Hollywood propaganda filmmaking at its worst? Wherever it goes, especially in Europe and the former Soviet states, "Georgia" will cause a lot of talk and controversy as the incidents depicted are still so fresh in many's minds. Like all topics of the sort, it'll also have its strong supporters and detractors having opinions on the film long before a frame of footage is screened anywhere.
Shot on-location in Tbilisi, the project also marks a potential return to form for Finnish director Renny Harlin. Given the right material the skilled action director delivered three

As Meryl Streep and Sigourney Weaver win plaudits for their roles as older women in physical relationships with younger men, one of the most enduring barriers in Hollywood's movie-making history is at last being torn down
When a film star seduces someone 20 or 30 years their junior on screen, the audience doesn't bat an eyelid. In fact, it is an established cinema convention. If the older star is a woman, however, public reaction is harder to predict. But now Hollywood, so long accused of sexism because of the way it treats female talent, finally seems prepared to tackle a subject once regarded as beyond the pale: sex and the sixtysomething woman.
Sigourney Weaver, who stars in this month's new sci-fi blockbuster, Avatar, has revealed that in her next film she is to play the lover of an actor little more than half her age. In Cedar Rapids, Weaver, 60, is cast opposite

Saturday Nightmares: To All a Goodnight (1980)

Introduction:
Is there a better time to watch horror movies than on Saturday night? Be it alone or with friends, with beer or without, there’s just something about letting the stresses of the week slip away in the presence of a deranged killer, a zombie apocalypse, alien invaders, hungry vampires, werewolf orgies (if you haven’t seen Howling II, shame on you!) or any such combination.
As a kid, there was nothing more exciting than staying up late on Saturday night and prowling the channels for late-night horror programming. Being exposed to things like Day of the Dead, The Howling, Race with the Devil and Black Christmas before the age of ten certainly helped contribute to my demented modern day state of mind. Before my parents even knew what was happening, I was disavowing any and all interest in spots, cub scouts and anything else kids do, in favor

Top Ten Worst Movies of 2009
**Disclaimer** This list is for entertainment purposes only. No studio is safe. No actor is safe. No movie is safe! You have been warned. What's more fun to read, the best movies of the year, or the crappiest movies of the year? I know as a writer, I Love listing the worst movies of the year. And 2009 had some pretty big stinkers. From failed comedies, (what a shock that a Kate Hudson movie would make the list two years in a row) to failed action flicks to unwatchable "arthouse", 2009 served up a big ol plate of dog crap. So sit back, relax and see if you agree with any of my choices. Yes, I'm well aware that there are 500 million movies out there that went straight to DVD. I'm only listing theatrical releases. I'm sure there are plenty of films I've missed or just didn't see.

Sigourney Weaver Clears Up Bill-Murray-As-Ghost Rumors, Hints at Ghostbusters 3 Storyline

Sigourney Weaver has been doing a lot of press for Avatar, so naturally lots of film journalists are hammering her for news about her potential involvement in Ghostbuster 3. Just last week, she mentioned that Bill Murray might be returning to the film as a ghost. Recently, MTV caught up with Weaver in London to try and clear things up. The short answer: She hasn't read the script and doesn't know too much yet, but she did have one interesting nugget about the film's potential plot. Hit the jump to hear what she had to say.
When asked about Bill Murray's character again, Weaver said, "I don't know, I mean, he could come back as a sort of Slimer character." Pressed on whether she knew or whether this was conjecture, Weaver explained:
I don't know. I haven't read the script. They're sending me the script. I guess my little son Oscar,

Ghostbusters 3 Confirmed And Moving Forward!

As we previously reported several months back it was officially confirmed by Director Ivan Reitman on the red carpet of the new Avatar film yesterday; Ghostbusters 3 is moving forward.
This now falls in line to the other reports and so-called verbal “slips” by the cast including Dan Aykroyd and Signourney Weaver, who will both be joining the cast of Bill Murray, Harold Ramis and Ernie Hudson.
We hear that the story is moving forward with the cast and a new script while the Producers intend to bring back the old characters, they also intend to introduce new characters to the team, basically a “new generation” stated Aykroyd. He also stated that he would like to see an influx of some new characters join the team, and they may be female members, and two actresses he likes in particular are Alyssa Milano and Eliza Dushku.
The producers are also looking for

Feeling down? Greatpoochini invites you to fluff yourself up and let your imagination take wing to find the best film clips featuring plumes of all kinds
"I'm as light as a feather! I'm as happy as an angel!" Whether inspired by these immortal words, especially when uttered by Alastair Sim's Ebeneezer Scrooge, or perhaps the fine white quills wielded by Scrooge's clerks in A Muppet Christmas Carol, this week we focus on feathers.
But before letting your imaginations take flight, some ground rules. There'll be extra marks for clips that do not feature live birds – especially as depicted in those sub-Attenborough wildlife documentaries, soundtracked by condescending narration, that seem to have been handed down from Hollywood generation to generation. However, in the spirit of Clip joint, some creative exceptions, and the occasional turkey, will of course be accepted.
1) Dumbo's grips his magic feather, spreads his ears, and we all see an elephant fly.

It was as if she fired off a positively charged stream of proton-packed gossip into the blogosphere: "Ghostbusters" star Sigourney Weaver recently let slip during a press conference that in the upcoming third franchise installment Bill Murray might play a ghost, and that her son Oscar from "Ghostbuster 2" might work for the family business in the coming sequel. Here's what she had to say when MTV's Josh Horowitz caught up with her at the "Avatar" junket in London...
Tantalizing stuff, right? I mean seriously... will Bill Murray really be a ghost?
"I don't know," she told our own Josh Horowitz. "He could come back as a sort of Slimer character."
A Slimer? The very room service-chomping blob of green Jell-o that attacked him in the first film and gave him the catchphrase-worthy line, "He slimed me"? That's a pretty specific reference from Weaver, and it leads us to believe what

Ja from Mnpp here, taking a look at one of my favorite films not just of 2004 but of the entire decade. My first thought when I noticed that Shaun of the Dead came out in '04 was, "Really? It's only five years old? I feel as if it's been a part of my life forever." And then my second thought was, "Really? It's five whole years old? It feels like it just came out yesterday."
I really can't imagine a world without Shaun in it, though. What a terrible world that would be! One of the greatest horror films in the 00's, it's smart enough to know you haven't really made a zombie movie unless you've included a zombie feeding frenzy where they pull a person in half...
... and it's also one of the funniest comedies of the 00's - funny enough to have a delightful comic actress like Lucy Davis

Looks like Ghostbusters 3 is more than "just a bunch of talk". Sigourney Weaver not only told Channel4 that a third Ghostbusters "is happening," she also gave away a few spoilers.
I'm afraid to say [Ghostbusters 3] is happening, I hope people are excited about that. I don't know if I'm going to be in it, I have had a couple of calls asking "would you read the script".
I know that my little son Oscar — who was kidnapped from me — I think he has grown up to be a ghostbuster. I might be in it; I see nothing wrong with being in it, although I don't think I will have a big part. I think Bill Murray has a little more to do with it — he's a ghost.
For the third movie, The Office writers Gene Stupnitsky and Lee Eisenberg are writing the screenplay, and if what Weaver says is true, are

Jim Jarmusch sets his latest enigma in Madrid, Seville and Almería. Existentialist mystery ensues…
Jim Jarmusch has been writing and directing intriguing, highly accomplished independent movies for a quarter of a century now and occasionally acting in those of fellow independents. His budgets remain relatively modest by Hollywood standards, but he has attracted leading performers like Johnny Depp and Robert Mitchum to work with him, as well as musicians such as Tom Waits and Joe Strummer.
His films are mysterious without being obscure and are sometimes carefully patterned and sometimes linear stories of journeys of discovery. Mystery Train, for instance, retraces the same few hours as it interweaves several stories of Presley fans in Memphis, while in Broken Flowers Bill Murray crisscrosses America visiting old girlfriends (all played by well-known actresses) to discover which one bore him a son. Despite the fact that few of the characters actually meet each other,

Avatar opens this week, and the dean of film critics has chimed in. We've got a link to Ebert's review
below. But it was also recently revealed that James Cameron's next movie, at least as a producer, is a remake of a classic bit of
sci-fi. That should be interesting.
There was also a Roman Polanski update, a new Clash of the Titans trailer, and the news that Natalie Portman will fight
zombies. I suspect there will be quite a line to audition for the role of a zombie in that one. Who wouldn't want to devour Natalie
Portman, after all?

You would think with Halloween over that the Ghostbusters 3 news would settle down, but with the release of Avatar, our favorite Cello-playing actress, Sigourney Weaver, is making her rounds. While in England, she decided to talk about Ghostbusters 3 and in turn confuse the entire world.
Sitting down with Channel 4, Weaver says,
“I’m afraid that it is happening. I hope that people are excited about that. I don’t know if I’ll be in it. I’ve gotten a couple of calls, “Will you read the script?” I know that my little son, Oscar… I think he’s grown up to become a Ghostbuster.”
“I think that Bill Murray might have a little more to do with it. I think he might be a ghost.”
Thankfully, one of my favorite Ghostbusters news sources, Proton Charging, has saved me all the trouble of digging through old interviews in order to debunk all this mess.
