Discreet is a psychological thriller about a mentally disturbed drifter, who in returning home to Texas to make amends with an alcoholic mother, is confronted with a haunted past. Desperate to deal with his demons, Alex sets out to avenge the source, while engaging in psychosexual rendezvous with various strangers along the way. Flashbacks to abusive scenes, creepy motivational videos and images of a floating dead body, blur the lines between reality and fantasy in this thought-provoking, twisted mystery.
The film made its World Premier at the Berlinale film festival this past week, giving us a chance to meet and chat with director, Travis Mathews (Interior Leather Bar and I Want Your Love). In speaking with Mathews, one can easily detect his fascination with exploring taboo topics and delving into the deeper psyche of his characters, which explains his psychology background. Crimson Peak works as many things: a melodramatic romance; both the recreation of a period and a revival of the way movies have made us perceive it; a genre-jumping comedy; and a critique of capitalistic excess. It does these things earnestly and without compromise, and it’s far braver — far more admirable — for having done so. What Guillermo del Toro’s new film doesn »

Salk needed seven years to develop the first polio vaccine in 1955, three years after a U.S. epidemic killed more than 3,000 in the worst polio outbreak in the nation’s history. The vaccine was declared safe and effective by test monitors on April 12, 1955 — 10 years to the day after the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt, the most widely recognized polio victim of that era. Sabin developed the oral polio vaccine, which came into use in 1961.

James Corden is a true Hollywood success.
The 38-year-old host of The Late Late Show covers Esquire's March issue, in which he talks about his start in show business and how he's had huge success in creating viral clips, such as his now infamous Carpool Karaoke segments. But Corden isn't just comfortable resting in his success.
"I'm always keen to try new things visually, with openings and sketches," Corden tells the magazine about what changes to expect from his show in the coming year. "I'd like to film the show somewhere else for a week."
"Visually better," he adds. "More ambitious. And also sillier. Those three things."
Corden, of course, wasn't always a household name. The British actor talks about studying acting as a teenager at a school in England, but quickly saw his roles limited because of his non-traditional leading »
