The stars of Only Murders In The Building are hard at work on the Hulu show’s next season!
Steve Martin, Selena Gomez and Martin Short were also seen running out of their apartment building known as the Arconia on the show while filming a scene on Wednesday (April 24) in New York City.
The trio were seen with their luggage in hand and getting into Steve‘s character’s car before driving off.
Them filming a scene where they leave the Arconia makes sense as it was previously reported that the show’s setting would move to Los Angeles, where they were seen filming in early March.
Also spotted on set that day was their co-star Michael Cyril Creighton, who plays another Arconia resident, Howard Morris.
The night before, Selena stepped out as a speaker for the Time100 Summit. Check out the pics!

Nielsen live-plus-seven-day data for Ryan Gosling’s Saturday Night Live episode has arrived, and the results are positive.
With Gosling as host, and Chris Stapleton as musical guest, the April 13, 2024 edition of SNL delivered 7,510,000 linear viewers. That represents the show’s largest total linear audience since Dec. 10, 2022, when Steve Martin and Martin Short were co-hosts, and Brandi Carlile was the musical guest. Additionally, the Gosling-led episode delivered 1,727,000 P18-49 linear viewers, the show’s largest P18-49 linear audience since Oct. 14, 2023, when Pete Davidson hosted the Season 49 premiere.
The Gosling-SNL story is even stronger if one takes into account episode viewing across digital platforms: 8.9 million total viewers and 2.64 million P18-49 viewers. Not only do the 8.9 million and 2.64 million represent season highs for the show, but the 8.9 million is SNL’s largest cross-platform audience since Dec. 11, 2021, when Billie Eilish was both the host and musical guest.

What if we blend the elite private school setting of Robin Williams’ Dead Poets Society, the buddy humor and road atmosphere of Steve Martin’s Planes, Trains and Automobiles with Home Alone’s Christmas vibe? This seems to be a crazy mix, but it’s exactly what the best movie of the last year was, and it finally finds a new home on Prime Video.
Set in the early 1970s, the movie starts by showing a strict and seemingly erratic teacher of a boarding school in New England, Paul Hunham, who is forced to remain here on the Christmas break to observe the students who have nowhere to go on a holiday.
Hunham is then left with the school’s cafeteria manager, the charismatic Mary, and with a smart, though troublesome teenage student, Angus, and the trio are forced to meet the New Year together and to encounter each other’s inner conflicts and mysteries.

As Jerry Seinfeld, a fellow titan of comedy, once remarked, Steve Martin stands as ‘the most idolised comedian ever’. Yet, even with a career that spans over half a century and encompasses a spectrum of artistic endeavors, Martin’s view on fame is tinged with the wisdom of its impermanence. ‘If you’re anointed tonight, you can be dumped on tomorrow’, he muses, encapsulating the transient glory of show business. Steve Martin A Cultural Phenomenon Whether it’s his iconic arrow-through-the-head gag or his profound turns in cinema, Steve Martin’s journey through the entertainment landscape has been nothing short of remarkable. Jimmy Fallon, host of NBC’s The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, is about to celebrate his 10th anniversary fronting a franchise that first began with Steve Allen behind the desk in 1954, followed by Jack Paar, Johnny Carson, Jay Leno and Conan O’Brien (and Jay Leno again) — and he’s keen to keep it going.
Speaking about Carson’s record as the longest-running (and most-identifiable) host of this seminal late-night show, Fallon said during a panel at Deadline’s Contenders Television event, “I’m gonna go, you guys want me? Let’s break the record, let’s go, let’s do 30 years!”
Related: Contenders TV – Deadline’s Full Coverage
Fallon himself has already spent 25 years at NBC in different incarnations. He started on Saturday Night Live in 1998 (“thinking that’s the goal”) and has now “for more than half of my life been at the same building.”

Aside from his success in the stand-up scene, he gained immense popularity and cultural relevance through his evergreen sitcom Seinfeld. In the modern streaming era, Seinfeld once again won over viewers with his talk show Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee.

Steve Martin in “Steve! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces,” now streaming on Apple TV+. Photo Credit: Apple TV+ Steve Martin has lived much of his life in front of the camera, even before he became a breakout standup comedy star in the late 1970s. Of course, since then, he’s made plenty of TV and film appearances, but for the new documentary, Steve! A UK print film magazine, and a big one too! Here’s Film Stories issue 49 – an issue going very much beyond the blockbusters.
Introducing issue 49 of Film Stories, where once again we’ve clearly gone mad and produced another 168 page bumper issue. And printed it on nice paper too!
We’re 100% independent, and this issue – as always – we’re celebrating fellow independents. But also: our front cover goes utterly beyond blockbuster film, and gives the whole cover over to indie movies.
We’re really proud of it. We hope you’re going to like it, and we hope you might consider supporting it. Sold primarily via mail order, and popping up in a few WHSmiths stores around the country too, here’s the cover of the new issue…

It's always a thrill when a former "Saturday Night Live" cast member comes back to Studio 8H to host the late night sketch comedy show. That's especially true when it's a cast member as beloved as Kristen Wiig. That last time the "Bridesmaids" star hosted "SNL" was in December 2020, and it just so happens the best sketch of the night was a new holiday favorite where she plays a mother who gets a robe for Christmas while the rest of the family gets a plethora of better gifts. However, since Kristen Wiig was hosting "SNL" for a fifth time this past weekend, she got a different robe. And she wasn't the only one.
While it's become customary for newly inducted Five Timers Club hosts to get monologue bits that bring back some legendary hosts like Steve Martin and Tom Hanks, it's not always logistically possible to make it a star-studded affair.

I’m pretty sure that the person who coined the phrase “all good things must come to an end” hadn’t been thinking of Sacha Baron Cohen and Isla Fisher when they said that, but nevertheless, it’s sadly now applying to the couple.

The “SNL” 5-Timers Club has been around since December 1990, when Tom Hanks joked in his monologue that a person’s fifth time hosting is when they receive a membership card into the club. Hanks then left the stage and joined Steve Martin, Elliott Gould and Paul Simon in an expensive-looking set with hors d’oeuvres, waiters and a doorman. The iconic club set would be seen multiple times on NBC’s late sketch comedy throughout the decades, often (but not always) when a new host is anointed as a five-timer. Members of the club are always seen wearing exclusive jackets embroidered with a “5” badge.

Christopher Rosen: Hello, Joyce! We’re back to type about comedy — and not the comedy of seeing Tom Ripley try to dodge a runaway motorboat. I’m typing about real comedy… like “The Bear.” Well, Ok, maybe not just “The Bear” since that’s all but assured of winning multiple Emmy Awards in September in a rerun of the 2023 (’24) Emmys we just saw in January. But let’s start there because while we agree with the consensus that the series, Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach should all repeat as Emmy winners this year, we’re both against the current tide in the Best Comedy Actress race. But let’s start there because while we agree with the consensus that the series, Jeremy Allen White and Ebon Moss-Bachrach should all repeat as Emmy winners this year, we’re both against the current tide in the Best Comedy Actress race. Most experts and users predict...

Some of the most hallowed names in contemporary showbiz have hosted Saturday Night Live five times. Christopher Walken, Steve Martin, Tom Hanks, Tina Fey are just some of them.
This weekend, Kristen Wiig joins the exclusive club.
Wiig reflected on the moment with musical guest Raye and SNL star Bowen Yang in this week’s Thursday promo. Wiig hasn’t done many things five times. Laughter is one of them, though, and the trio promised more of that this weekend.
Following that, Yang & Wiig had high expectations for Raye’s British accent, particularly on one magic word.
Finally, Yang fumbles what the meaning of “Og” is all about.

Having trouble predicting who will win Best Comedy Actor at the 2024 Emmy Awards? Let’s consult Gold Derby’s Emmy Experts! These savvy pundits from major media outlets have chimed in with their first set of predictions, and they say the trophy will go to Jeremy Allen White (“The Bear”). The other potential nominees at this early stage are Martin Short (“Only Murders in the Building”), Steve Martin (“Only Murders in the Building”), Larry David (“Curb Your Enthusiasm”) and Kelsey Grammer (“Frasier”) — but that could all change in the coming months.
As of this writing, nine out of our 10 Emmy Experts predict a victory for White for Season 2 of “The Bear”: Christopher Rosen (Gold Derby), Clayton Davis (Variety), Eric Deggans (NPR), Joyce Eng (Gold Derby), Peter Travers (ABC), Ray Richmond (Gold Derby), Shawn Edwards (Wdaf-tv Fox), Susan King (Gold Derby) and Thelma Adams (Gold Derby). Lorne Michaels is an expert at celebrating the legacy of “Saturday Night Live.” The show’s creator has produced variety specials for the NBC program’s 15th anniversary, 25th anniversary and 40th anniversary, so the upcoming 50th season should have a highly entertaining spectacle. Nothing less than a three-hour event would be expected, but how else should “SNL” celebrate the golden anniversary season, which would begin in the autumn of 2024 and continue through May, 2025?
Here is our exciting, fun suggestion for a way to go above and beyond for the live special. Over the course of a 20-22 episode season, NBC would certainly have almost every episode featuring the current cast along with hot guest hosts and musical guests. However, for the other five episodes spread out over several months, devote an entire 90 minutes to each previous decade. Invite back the biggest cast members from a decade along with well-known guest hosts and music stars.

Spoilt queen Aimee Lou Wood faces off against Nicola Coughlan’s humble upstart in a goofy adventure played for laughs
There’s a mega-helping of daftness, silliness and goofiness in this wacky British comedy of Ye Olden Medieval Dayes from screenwriter Andy Riley and director Curtis Vowell – and I have to say the them there troupe of Mat Baynton, Simon Farnaby et al have done this kind of thing a bit better with their Horrible Histories spin-off movies, but there are some laughs and likability here, due in some part to a great cast.
Aimee Lou Wood plays the grotesquely spoilt and entitled Queen Dagan, advised by slippery Machiavellian courtier Leofwine (Jessica Hynes). Faced by a Wat Tyler-ish uprising led by “Humble” Joan (Nicola Coughlan) – who demurely insists on being just called “Joan” – the Queen finds that her screeching commands to her guards to seize the intruders have no effect.

Steve Martin, 78, is the thing that’s buzzing in Hollywood right now, with the release of his Apple TV+ documentary.
The documentary revolved around Steve’s difficult relationship with his father and how it shaped his career, even going as far as to reveal that he later learnt to take his father’s criticisms as motivation.
Steve Martin – On Why His Father Wasn’t “Proud” Of His “Unconventional Act”
The comedic actor’s documentary “Steve! (Martin) A Documentary in 2 Pieces”mainly explored his father’s reaction to his career choices.
“I always thought my father was a little embarrassed by me,” said Steve, who served as a narrator in the film. “He couldn’t quite be proud of an unconventional showbiz act that he didn’t quite understand.”
The “Only Murders in the Building” star, however, revealed that he soon found a better use for his father’s criticisms by turning them into motivation.

Steve Martin in “Steve! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces,” now streaming on Apple TV+. Photo Credit: Apple TV+ Going back to his time working on The Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, Steve Martin’s career dates all the way back to the late 1960s. Now that Martin has said he’s ready to possibly slow down his acting career, the new documentary Steve! (martin) a documentary in 2 pieces is a fitting way to bookend a brilliant portfolio of work. Of course, while others are generally very generous in praising his talents, Martin himself is a bit more skeptical. We’ve spoken to him several times over the years, and Martin has often admitted to being his own worst critic. Steve Martin had his own way. The comedian was an icon back in his day, enthralling fans with his slapstick brand of comedy, and he still hasn’t lost touch with the humor that made him the stalwart he is. No wonder fans would love to see that story recreated. And Steve! (Martin) just does that. The two-part documentary series gives fans a peek into the life of one of the most renowned comedians. And nothing is off the menu, be it his struggles, or even how he was averse to giving fans his autographs.

Steve Martin is an actor, writer, producer, and musician, known among the masses for his brilliant comic skills. Considered one of the best in business, he became popular for his absurdist and offbeat comic routines, that made him one of Saturday Night Live‘s favorites, having hosted the sketch comedy show a total of 16 times, only one behind Alec Baldwin, who has the highest number, with 17 hosting stints.

When you’re looking for something to watch this weekend, don’t immediately dismiss Hulu’s “We Were the Lucky Ones” as just another prestige limited series about the Holocaust. It’s that, of course, but it’s also so much more.

Unlike many celebrity-driven documentaries, Morgan Neville’s “Steve! (Martin): A Documentary in Two Pieces” about the writer and comedian wasn’t deliberately made as a marketing device tied to a new TV series or movie. The two-part docu is also not your traditional career-encompassing overview of Martin’s life. Instead Neville, who garnered an Oscar in 2014 for “20 Feet From Stardom,” created feature-length installments called “Then” and “Now” that are told from two points of views using two different formats. “Then” chronicles Martin’s early struggles and meteoric rise to revolutionize standup before walking away at age 35. “Now” focuses on Martin’s present day life, retracing the transformation that led to newfound happiness in his art and personal life.

The two part doc is split into two sides of his career. In Part One (“Then”), the development and story of how Steve Martin took comedy to the rock and roll level from the mid-1970s to his abrupt “walking away” from his act in 1980 … at the height of his fame. In Part Two (“Now”), it’s the rest of the story, mostly his film career, but also a unique glimpse of an icon looking backwards through a prism of – given his admittedly shy personality – true satisfaction.

Selena Gomez has seen her “Only Murders in the Building” co-stars and guest stars get nominated for and win Emmys the past two years while she sat on the sidelines. Will the third time finally be the charm? She’s currently in fifth place in the Best Comedy Actress odds.
