Yet another William Shatner TV series is heading to movie theaters. This time, it's T.J. Hooker, the cop show executive produced by Aaron Spelling during his legendary run on ABC. Shatner didn't get to be in the recent Star Trek reboot, will he be in this movie?
T.J. Hooker revolves around a veteran cop (Shatner) who, after his plainclothes partner is killed in the line of duty, returns to the streets as a patrol sergeant. He's assigned to train academy recruits and is partnered with a young, headstrong rookie named Vince Romano (Adrian Zmed). Others in the series include Heather Locklear, James Darren, Richard Herd, and Hugh Farrington.
The series ran for two seasons on ABC as an hour-long drama before the alphabet network cancelled it. CBS then picked it up for two more seasons but assigned it to the late night "Crime Time After Prime-Time" schedule, running opposite The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.

Before you can say, “Hey, I remember that show” Hollywood has greenlit an adaptation of “T.J. Hooker,” the 80’s cop show starring William Shatner. Anyone looking to connect the squares between the Dukes of Hazzard and Charlie’s Angels on their “Bad TV Adaptations” bingo card, this is your lucky day. However, this is bad news to the guy holding out for “Walker Texas Ranger.”
According to Variety, the series is being revived as an “action comedy,” which gets half of the punchline status of this show right. Even Shatner knew this show was a joke when he spoofed it on “Saturday Night Live” over twenty years ago. But if Star Trek can become ten feature films and then start over, why not… T.J. Hooker?
Chuck Russell, who directed such classics as The Scorpion King and Jim Carrey’s The Mask, is in talks to direct and we’re all really pulling for him.

"Tj Hooker" is headed for the big screen as an action comedy with series creator Rick Husky producing and Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King, The Mask) is in talks to direct. The writing team of Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson (Short Circuit, Wild Wild West) will script the story, which focuses on the relationship between the title character and his father. No actors have been cast yet for the feature. The TV series, produced by Aaron Spelling, debuted in 1982 on ABC and ran for five seasons, the last on CBS. William Shatner starred as a no-nonsense patrol sergeant, with Adrian Zmed, Heather Locklear, Richard Herd and James Darren as co-stars. "The series was the poster child for cop TV shows in the 1980s with great stunts, so we think there's a fun movie to be made from it," said producer Ryan Heppe.

T.J. Hooker is primed to drop his pension and come out of retirement to resume patrol in a larger neighborhood. Variety is reporting David Foster and Ryan Heppe, currently working on another "why?" remake of Short Circuit, have teamed with series creator Rick Husky to produce a big screen version of T.J. Hooker as an "action comedy" centered around the title character and his father. T.J. Hooker ran five seasons and starred William Shatner as the venerable cop, a very blond Heather Locklear unafraid to don short shorts, Adrian Zmed, Richard Herd and James Darren. Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson, also working on Short Circuit, are on board to pen the script with Chuck Russell of The Scorpion King fame in negotiations to direct. I put the odds of Shatner placing a phone call to play the "father" character at or around 1 to 1.

"T.J. Hooker" will get the movie makeover as an action comedy!
The hit TV show from the 80s gets its movie adaptation from producers David Foster, Ryan Heppe, and series creator Rick Husky.
Chuck Russell, the guy who gave us "The Scorpion King" and "The Mask" is negotiating to direct.
The film version will focus on the relationship between our hero, T.J., and his dad. But I don't know how the writing team of Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson will make the characters and the plot interesting. The writing duo gave us "Wild Wild West" (I know, not a good sign) and many "Tremors" films (yeah, definitely not a good sign!).
No word yet on the cast, or whether William Shatner, the original Sgt. Thomas J. 'T.J.' Hooker, will make a cameo. What about series originals Adrian Zmed and Heather Locklear?
For now, let's take a look

No, were not referring to any forms of prostitution in here but the early 1980’s series T.J. Hooker. Starring William Shatner and Heather Locklear, the popular cop drama is getting itself revamped on the big screen. Director Chuck Russell (The Scorpion King) is being tracked down to take part of the adaptation, joining the creator of the series Rick Husky who will be producing.
Conjuring up the script is scribes Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson who both at the moment are writing up the remake of 1986 movie, Short Circuit. Joined along with David Foster and Ryan Heppe producing, this quartet of people have been attached to the hip all the way to Tremors. No word yet on who is to be casted in any of the roles.

According to Variety, the latest tv show to get the big screen treatment will be none other than the William Shatner mid-eighties police drama T.J. Hooker. No, that’s not a typo, I said T.J. Hooker. Is this another sign of the pending apocalypse or further proof that Hollywood has completely run out of original ideas? Perhaps both.
In case you were not a fan of the original series or its star William Shatner, the show centered on Shatner’s character, a no-nonsense police sergeant who, among other things, bossed around the young and beautiful Heather Locklear, the young and hunky Adrian Zmed and occasionally caught some bad guys in the process. Producing the action comedy will be David Foster, Ryan Heppe and series creator Rick Husky.
According to the article, producer Heppe is gung-ho about the adaptation saying: “The series was the poster child for cop TV shows in the 1980s with great stunts,

William Shatner’s past performances just keep living, breathing, and remaking themselves. “Star Trek” is now neatly rebooted with J.J. Abrams and Chris Pine. Meanwhile, Shatner’s other sci-fi series “Tek War” has been revived as a comic book. Now Variety reveals that the “Trek” captain’s private dick TV series “T.J. Hooker” is headed to the big screen for its moment of remade glory.
David Foster, Ryan Heppe and series creator Rick Husky are producing the film, while Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson have the task of writing the script. Chuck Russell (”The Scorpion King”) is in talks to direct. No actors have yet been attached to the project.
“T.J. Hooker” was Shatner’s heralded return to television in the 1980s, and this project undoubtedly got a boost from the resurgence of “Trek” on the big screen. The series followed the beat of plainclothes detective Thomas “T.J.” Hooker,

Someone stop the madness! Yet another '80s property is being prepped for the big screen: the William Shatner-fronted cop show T.J. Hooker! According to Variety [1], Chuck Russell (The Blob, Eraser, The Scorpion King) is in talks to direct, with the screenplay being penned by Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson (Tremors, Short Circuit, Ghost Dad). Hey wait a minute... maybe I'm interested in this after all. I must admit, I don't remember much about the TV show, which may have been just slightly ahead of my time (it ran from 1982 to 1986). It was produced by Aaron Spelling and in addition to the Shatman it also starred Heather Locklear, Adrian Zmed, James Darren and Richard Herd. Shatner played Thomas "T.J." Hooker, a detective who returned his former position as a beat cop after his partner was killed. The movie will maintain the blend of action and comedy that the series was known for,

While some television shows from the past are being resurrected and updated for today's TV viewers, others are headed for the big screen. The latest one to make the cut: "T.J. Hooker," the 1980s crime drama series produced by Aaron Spelling.
Variety reports the concept of the series will be repackaged into an action comedy, with Chuck Russell in talks to direct the project. Russell's credits include "The Mask" and "Eraser."
The original series starred William Shatner as Sgt. T.J. Hooker and focused on his adventures with his partner Vince Romano (Adrian Zmed). Heather Locklear co-starred in most of the show's 90 episodes.
Brent Maddock and S.S. Wilson ("Wild Wild West") will write the script for the big-screen version, which apparently focuses on the relationship between Hooker and his dad. No actors are in talks yet.
No word yet on when you can plan on getting 'hooked' in theaters.

"The Perfect Man" starring Heather Lockelear and Hillary Duff isn't the perfect move and it doesn't even have a perfect plot, but it still isn't a bad movie to look at (better then I expected). Heather Locklear is pretty good as a single woman with a young teenage daughter (played by Duff) who moves to New York to start a new life with her daughter and at the same time, hoping to find the "perfect man" for herself and her daughter. Duff, already hating the fact that she had to move is kind of resentful of her finding someone else, but decides to help her mother who is so insistent on finding...

According to reports, CW's New "Melrose Place" is getting another original show alumni in Josie Bissett to join the other two alums, Laura Leighton and Thomas Calabro, already on the set. Josie will be reprising her old role as Jane Andrews Mancini who is the older sister of Sydney Andrews played by Laura Leighton. She is set to be in at least one episode, and it is reported that she could show up in more. I suspect she'll probably do more than one, though. So everybody welcome back Josie Bissett to "Melrose Place", whoo hoo, lol!! Now all they need to do is get Heather Locklear back. Now, if my memory serves me correctly. I believe Jane was married to Michael Mancini at first.
