Bryan Cranston is slowly but surely achieving pop culture domination. After God knows how many Emmys (four) for his performance in AMC’s “Breaking Bad,” plus a Tony Award for playing Lbj in “All the Way,” it now seems Cranston will be going, well, all the way in his bid for hardest working actor in the biz. “Trumbo,” directed by Jay Roach with a script by John McNamara, is based on the life of 1940s Hollywood screenwriter Dalton Trumbo, whose career hit a roadblock when he was blacklisted for being a suspected Communist. His fight against the U.S. government and studio heads for freedom of speech implicated John Wayne, Kirk Douglas, and countless others. Joining Cranston in the title role is Diane Lane as his wife, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Louis C.K., Elle Fanning, Michael Stuhlbarg, and John Goodman. Helen Mirren gives what looks to be a juicy supporting performance as Hollywood gossip columnist Hedda Hopper. »
Though last year’s two biggest stars, Robert Downey, Jr. and Benedict Cumberbatch, are nowhere to be found on the official, confirmed list of stars attending this year’s Toronto International Film Festival, you can’t say that Toronto will be left wanting in terms of star power.
Johnny Depp, Joel Edgerton, and Kevin Bacon will be in town promoting their Boston-set crime flick, Black Mass, in co-star Cumberbatch’s absence. Also, though Iron Man won’t make it up north for the Festival, Marvel’s Kate Mara (Fantastic Four) and Sebastian Stan (Captain America) will be backing up Jessica Chastain, Matt Damon, and Chiwetel Ejiofor on the red carpet for this year’s undisputed big ticket, The Martian. Jake Gyllenhaal will also be on-hand in support of Tiff's opening film, Demolition.
There is also a large contingent of Hollywood legends also heading to Toronto this year, including Michael Caine, »

Lois Lane could find some competition for Clark Kent’s affections in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice in the form of Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince, a.k.a. Wonder Woman, and Heny Cavill has offered a rather diplomatic response when asked by Cosmopolitan whether the intrepid Daily Planet reporter or the Amazon Princess is a better fit for the Man of Steel.
“This is a very long discussion because there are a lot of questions to be asked and answered,” states Cavill. “I mean who is better for a super-powered alien, a human or a goddess? Yes, the goddess can do all the normal things, which we would think are normal in a relationship, and not have any fear of Superman. But you also need to have that baseline of humanity, which Lois provides. And literally keeps his feet on the ground, keeps him down to earth. So »

When Warner Bros. first announced Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice at the San Diego Comic-Con in 2015, the DC superhero ensemble was originally set to arrive on July 17th 2015. However, the film was pushed back to May 6th, 2016, which put it head-to-head with Marvel’s then-unannounced Captain America: Civil War, before WB decided to shift the date again to March 25th 2016.
By the time the film rolls around, it will have been close to three years since the previous instalment Man of Steel, and now Warner CEO Kevin Tsujihara has offered up a few words on the studio’s decision to shuffle around the release date.

“It was a tough decision at the time because it was going to create a hole in 2015,” Tsujihara tells The Hollywood Reporter. “But it was absolutely the right decision for the franchise, »

Although Michael Shannon’s Man of Steel villain General Zod is confirmed to be making an appearance in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, his exact role in the film has largely been kept a secret. While we may not know how Zod fits into the plot (spoilers), especially considering that he died in Man of Steel, actor Michael Shannon did reveal some information about his character’s strange new look in a recent interview with Vulture.
While telling an anecdote about how he got stuck in a porta-potty during the shoot, Shannon said, “I was in my costume, and I couldn’t use my fingers because in the sequel I have flippers instead of hands. So I had these wax flippers on my fingers, and I couldn’t open the door, and I could hear Zack [Snyder, the director] being like, ‘Where’s Shannon?'”
He finished the story by saying that »

Poor Gal Gadot hasn't had an easy time of it since being cast as Wonder Woman in the DC Cinematic Universe, but her career continues to go from strength to strength. The Fast & Furious actress has Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Wonder Woman, and Justice League: Part One all on the way over the next couple of years, and has been chosen as the face (and, well, body) of Gucci Bamboo. The video has been around for a month, but it's well worth a watch regardless... Starring Ben Affleck as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Henry Cavill as Clark Kent/Superman, Gal Gadot as Diana Prince/Wonder Woman, with Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne and Diane Lane returning from Man of Steel, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Jeremy Irons as Alfred, and Holly Hunter in a role newly created for the film. Following his work on Man of Steel, costume designer Michael Wilkinson then tasked with creating the look for The Dark Knight and the Amazon Princess (not to mention Aquaman) for the upcoming DC epic Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice from director Zack Snyder. Now, during an interview with Peoples Choice, Wilkinson has offered some insight into his work on the hotly-anticipated blockbuster.
“We tweaked the Superman suit only slightly from our suit from Man of Steel,” states Wilkinson. “We streamlined plus sharpened the details of the costume a little to suit the more earthly (less alien) context of this film. The batsuit is a complete 180 degree turn from the previous film incarnations — our Batman’s power comes from his incredible physical strength and fighting skills, not from armor. The director Zack Snyder wanted him to look as much like the comic book version as possible — to be respectful to the original source. »

Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is easily shaping up to be one of next year's biggest hits, with legions of fans reacting positively to the new trailer that debuted at Comic-Con last month. That trailer gave us our first real look at Jesse Eisenberg's Lex Luthor, and while he certainly appears to have a sinister agenda, the trailer doesn't exactly feature any of the heinous acts he commits during the film. Today we have a new report from Heroic Hollywood, which offers a tiny taste of the nefarious plans Luthor has in store. There will be Spoilers below, so read on at your own risk.
While it isn't known why this act takes place, or when it happens in the story, this report claims that Lex Luthor kidnaps Superman's (Henry Cavill) mother, Martha Kent, played by Diane Lane. You may recall that, in 2013's Man of Steel, Superman »
Obviously this post will contain a pretty major Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice plot spoiler, so if you’d rather not know any details, now is the time to stop reading… okay?
Okay. So, according to Heroic Hollywood, Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor is going to resort to some pretty reprehensible tactics in his efforts to get the Man of Steel’s attention in Zack Snyder’s upcoming movie. Superman can be hurt by Kryptonite as we all know (and we also see Lex about to get his mitts on some of that in the new trailer), but what makes him most vulnerable are the people he cares about, and at the top of that list is his dear ol’ Earth-mother, Martha Kent.
