Han Solo Spinoff May Include A Scene Involving The Famous Kessel Run

1 hour ago | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

“Fast ship? You mean you’ve never heard of the Millennium Falcon?” to which an enquiring Obi-Wan Kenobi responds, “should I have?” Affronted, Harrison Ford’s wise-cracking nerf herder then utters that by-now famous line: “It’s the ship that made the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.”

That scene in question, as any Star Wars fan will know, unfolds in Mos Eisley Cantina, in which the swashbuckling Han Solo offers his services (and his ship!) to the rather desperate Obi-Wan and Luke Skywalker, as they seek out safe passage to the Alderaan system. The Falcon’s historic feat is later mentioned in The Force Awakens, when Ford’s reluctant hero quickly corrects Rey about the Kessel Run and those 12 parsecs – a measurement of distance, not time, that equates to around 3.26 light-years.

Such a minor piece of Star Wars lore may be brushed aside by general moviegoers, but it seems »

Ron Howard teases the Kessel Run with new Han Solo Star Wars set photo

4 hours ago | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

Following on from yesterday’s behind-the-scenes images, director Ron Howard has now taken to Twitter to share another photo from the set of Han Solo: A Star Wars Story, which he posted with the caption “spicy”.

Given the caption, it’s probably safe to assume that this is an entrance to the spice mines of Kessel, a labour camp where various species including Wookiees were used as slaves to mine spice – a mineral turned into a dangerous drug. Han Solo is of course renowned for making the Kessel Run – a hyperspace route used by smugglers to move spice from the mines – in the Millennium Falcon in “less than twelve parsecs”, something we’re presumably going to see play out on screen in the Anthology movie.

Snyder Not Coming Back For Justice League

Despite the rumours that Zack Snyder would return to the set of Justice League to help Joss Whedon finish the reshoots, it looks like the director has stepped aside for good. “I’m at a place where I feel excited about it and I’m happy for my guys and I love these people that are working on it, and they’re my family and I think they’re doing an amazing job,” he told Wired. “But I’ve kind of just let them do their thing.” Read more here.

Congratulations To Homecoming

There are a couple more superhero movies in the pipeline for 2017, but Spider-Man: Homecoming officially holds the title of the most successful of the year for now. Thanks in no small part to its solid opening in China, the film has overtaken Wonder Woman and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 with $861.8 million worldwide. »

Spice Mines of Kessel Teased in Latest Look at Han Solo

13 hours ago | MovieWeb | See recent MovieWeb news »

Han Solo is continuing to shoot in the U.K., with director Ron Howard sharing more teases from behind the scenes. Over the weekend, he shared a photo of actor Paul Bettany as the actor wrapped his role. Today, we have a photo that could teases an iconic location. Ron Howard sent out this photo from the set, which doesn't feature any obvious spoilers. But it does features an entrance to a cave, with most speculating that this is our first ever look at the often heard about Spice Mines of Kessel. Ron Howard didn't come right out and say this is one of the caves of Kessel, but his cryptic tweet was enough to raise eyebrows.

The photo surfaced on the official Ron Howard Twitter this afternoon, with the director tweeting one word, "Spicey?" The spice mines of Kessel were first mentioned by C-3Po in A New Hope, »

‘Star Wars’: Ron Howard Teases “Spicey” Set From Han Solo Film

14 hours ago | Deadline | See recent Deadline news »

Ron Howard seems to be having a good time since taking over the directing reins of the upcoming Han Solo film. He recently posted a photo of the famous Kessel Run from the set with the caption “Spicey?” The caption and the Kessel Run might be totally foreign to many, but for Star Wars diehards, the reference is crystal clear. 'Star Wars': Ron Howard Teases Millennium Falcon's Famous Kessel Run in Han Solo Film

16 hours ago | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

It appears Star Wars fans are finally going to see the Millennium Falcon's famous Kessel Run.

Ron Howard on Wednesday tweeted a photo that shows an entrance to a cave with one word: "Spicey?"

Han Solo, of course, made the famous Kessel Run in a record-breaking (fewer than) 12 parsecs, which the character bragged about in A New Hope

The Run is a hyperspace route which smugglers use to move spice from the mines on Kessel.

It seems Howard is once more giving fans a slight taste of what is to come without really giving away much at all. Ever since the »

Rumour: Darth Vader to appear in the Han Solo Star Wars spin-off

20 September 2017 1:01 AM, PDT | Flickeringmyth | See recent Flickeringmyth news »

With all the drama surrounding Han Solo’s change of directors, it’s hard to figure out what exactly to expect from the film. According to one source, though, it seems Star Wars‘ iconic villain Darth Vader will be making another appearance in Ron Howard’s Anthology movie.

Per That Hashtag Show, one of their sources close to the film’s production has claimed that roughly two weeks ago someone was on set in Darth Vader’s armour. This is all they could confirm, however, with the actual size of Vader’s potential role left up in the air.

Fans have speculated as to whether or not Vader might appear in Han Solo for a while now. Spencer Wilding, the actor who portrayed Vader physically in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, cancelled a convention appearance a couple months ago and it was reported that was because he had »

Whatever Paul Bettany was doing in the Han Solo film, he has finished.

Director Ron Howard on Saturday posted a picture of Bettany on the set of the untitled Star Wars project, saying his pal had wrapped on the production.

"Had to say goodbye to my friend @Paul_Bettany today. Another terrific performance from a world class talent," Howard wrote in text accompanying a picture of the two men.

Now it appears that we might finally get to see them on the big screen.

Han Solo Story Clues Point To Two Classic Star Wars Planets

16 September 2017 9:04 AM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

You’ve heard of it, haven’t you? The Kessel Run? Word is Han Solo can zip along that elusive hyperspace route in only 12 parsecs – 3.26 light-years, give or take – and if the folks at Making Star Wars are to be believed, Kessel, that far-flung planet first mentioned during Star Wars: A New Hope all those years ago, will crop up in Ron Howard’s 2018 anthology pic.

First spotted by Reddit, Lucasfilm’s origin story, one which seemingly takes place over a seven-year time period, came up in conversation during episode 195 of Now This Is Podcasting. Amid talk of speeders and that aforementioned Kessel Run, Msw claimed that Han Solo will introduce viewers to two classic Star Wars planets: Corellia and Kessel.

Chalk this up as conjecture, but it’s believed the Ron Howard-directed pic unfolds across “three different eras over a seven-year period,” during which time we’ll check »
