Paramount will now distribute the Annapurna Pictures', Skydance Productions 3D feature, "Terminator 5" for producers Megan and David Ellison, with production targeting a January 2014 start.
"I'm very happy that the studios want me to be in 'Terminator 5'", said Arnold Schwarzenegger, "and to star as the 'Terminator'. We start shooting in January..."
Annapurna Pictures purchased the rights to the "Terminator" May 2011, with the stipulation that if nothing is done with the property by a specific date, screen rights would revert back to "Terminator" co-creators James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd.
"The Terminator" released in 1984, was inspired by themes and premises by science fiction author Harlan Ellison, then scripted by Gale Anne Hurd and Cameron, with direction by Cameron, after Roger Corman passed on the project.

Whenever anyone asks me why I like The Expendables franchise, I respond with a blank look and then shout: “Old People Blowing Things Up!” Because, really, that’s what we’re all here for. With The Expendables 3 getting a proper (read: awesome) cast together, it was only a matter of time before Lionsgate informed us of how long we’ll have to wait for the next installment of Muscleheads in Steroidland. Announced this week, the release date for The Expendables 3 is set for August 15th, 2014.
That is far too long, in my opinion. I want my massive explosions Now. This Expendables has, if possible, more badasses per square inch than either of the other two combined. Along with the original Expendables cast – including Sylvester Stallone, Jason Statham, Jet Li, etc. – we have confirmed cast members in Jackie Chan, Wesley Snipes, Mickey Rourke and Nicolas Cage. There has been »

Director Christophe Gans may not be the first choice that pops into your mind when it comes to an adaptation of Beauty And The Beast. After all, most people's vision of the film comes from the famed 1991 Walt Disney film, which is a fairly light and easy affair. If you really want to show your age, you could reference the TV show starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton. Or, on the flipside, the ill-received Beastly (or the currently running show with Kristin Kreuk). Gans, who directed »

Warning: Major Spoilers From The Outset
All the main characters in director/screenwriter Shane Black’s brave and exciting Iron Man 3 wear a suit. By his own admission, Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is “cocooned” in his. He retreats inside the Iron Man suit, now up to an almost unfathomably expensive Mark 42, because it is the only place he feels safe. Those around Stark, be they on the side of right or wrong, wear their own suit. The suit hides their true self and it is only by removing this disguise that they can reveal it. Iron Man 3 mocks the notion of re-invention; Stark can build all the iron suits he wants, they will save him from just about any foe. But take the mask off and he is just as soft, weak and fallible as those he strives to save.

When Rachel Skarsten swaggered onto the scene during the second episode of Lost Girl's third season, we knew right away that we were going to like her. Maybe it was the way Tamsin put Dyson in his place the first time she opened her mouth. Maybe it was the way Tamsin hopped into the boxing ring to go toe-to-toe with the fellas. Maybe it was because we still have a lot of love for Skarsten's Birds of Prey character, Dinah Lance. Or maybe it's her one-paragraph biography that boasts a degree in English Literature and Classical History, and a hockey championship. The more we get to know Tamsin and Skarsten, them more we love them. Lucky for us, she took time out of her busy schedule to chat about the upcoming Lost Girl finale, about Tamsin's relationship with Bo, and »

Lost Girl Episode 310
“Delinquents”
Written By: Michelle Lovretta
Directed By: Gail Harvey
Original Airdate: 25 March 2013
In This Episode...
Some kids are turning up dead at a juvenile camp. Bo goes undercover as a counselor, Kenzi as a camper, and Dyson as a social worker. A whole lot of nothing happens, even when Bo is attacked by the monster while Skype-ing with Lauren. Bo breaks free and the monster runs. Lauren - with a bit of help from Tamsin, figures out that this is a tickbilang. It must be smoked out and then have its mane cut to destroy its power. It takes Bo literally no time to do this. The monster is apparently hiding in a tent or something, and Bo rips off the mask to reveal that the culprit is Jolene, one of the other social workers at the camp. It is not until they are having a celebratory »

The usually light-hearted Lost Girl brought sadness this week, as Lauren broke up with Bo without even a kiss goodbye.
While there was a investigation-of-the-week in "Delinquents," it didn't add much to the episode or provide insight into the Fae world. This continues to be the weak point of the series. The show would be better served if the cases related better to what else was going on in the hour or if it shed light on the greater Fae world.
I wish the writers would use those perimeters to do a litmus test with each script.
The only highlight of the camp was the busted trust fall between Bo and Kenzi. The two friends were at odds over how to gain the trust of the campers. In this situation, Kenzi made the right move. There was no way the delinquent youths were going to trust Bo, so Kenzi let »

Oooooh, children, things are gonna get good. Sure, this week we had the Is-That-All-There-Is Dawning. But a new preview from Showcase as well as pictures from SyFy promise Lost Girl will give us a slap-happy episode complete with an appearance by none other than Sarah Connor herself.
Yeah, you know that’s hot. Linda Hamilton makes her long-awaited guest starring turn on next week’s show as a deadly assassin Acacia come to claim, or force Tamsin to claim, Bo. The episode, called “Delinquents,” will air Sunday on Showcase and Monday on SyFy.
The synopsis reads as such:
Bo, Dyson and Kenzi go undercover at an urban camp to catch a serial killer Fae who preys on at-risk youth. Meanwhile, a blast from Tamsin’s past makes an appearance, but the visit may not be purely social. Bo is given some hard to accept emotional news. »

James Cameron's The Terminator is a masterpiece of cinematic storytelling, conceived by Mr. Cameron while in Rome with a fever years earlier (the late director Robert Altman had a similar situation that led to the writing of my favorite film of his, Three Women, released in 1977). Shot in early 1984 for roughly $6M (the amount spent solely on the sound mix of the superb $90M sequel seven years later), this futuristic action powerhouse grabs the audience by the throat and takes us on a wild ride. Despite the inexorable pace – much like the titular villain’s nature – the film manages to come up for air and miraculously never feels over-the-top, long-winded or plodding.
The Terminator opened on Friday, October 26, 1984 and yours truly missed out on seeing it, electing to see the horror film greatest hits compilation Terror in the Aisles instead. »

Walt Disney Pictures have tasked Trance screenwriter, Joe Aherane, to pen a live-action version of the famous fairytale, Beauty And The Beast. The House Of Mouse are hoping for another fantasy hit franchise on the back of Oz The Great & Powerful’s monumental success after opening to the worldwide tune of $150 million in only three days.
Ahearne may seem a peculiar choice considering Trance, directed by Danny Boyle, features some pretty graphic violence and gore, but he’s also a filmmaker himself and has written and directed episodes of beloved BBC series Doctor Who, as well as sci-fi and spookfests, Ultraviolet and Apparitions.
While the epic children’s tale was adapted into a hit Disney musical in 1991, we’ve already had the classic 1980 series (starring Ron Perlman and Linda Hamilton) updated to present day by CW with Jay Ryan and Kristen Kreuk, as well as a modern remake in the form of 2010′s Beastly. »

Kris Holden-Ried and Anna Silk star in Lost Girl.
The Canadian channel Showcase has ordered a fourth season of its supernatural series Lost Girl. The show has consistently been Showcase’s number one scripted series and is an international hit.
“Lost Girl remains an anchor series for Showcase, and with its sharp writing and palpable cast chemistry, it has amassed a fan following second-to-none,” said Barbara Williams, Senior Vice President, Content, Shaw Media. “We are delighted to bring fans another season of the series and can’t wait to see where the creative team takes the story next.”
Currently halfway through its third season on Showcase, Lost Girl is centered on sexy succubus Bo (Anna Silk). Bo is a strong-willed and independent member of a community of creatures of legend and folklore called Fae that exists in our modern world. Bo refuses to choose an allegiance to either the Dark or Light Fae clans, »

Chicago – I have to admit that I greeted the new Blu-ray edition of James Cameron’s wildly-influential “The Terminator” with a raised eyebrow and heavy dose of skepticism. Another release for a movie that has hit the home market over and over again felt like a cash grab. A restoration? Sure. From the first minute, “The Terminator” feels new in this edition, a gorgeously remastered HD transfer of a genre classic.
Rating: 4.5/5.0
As for the film itself, I’m as surprised at its lasting power as I am at the amazing transfer. I guess there’s always a part of me that thinks that “The Terminator” will come off dated. I’m sure that it does for some young viewers (I can’t believe it’s almost thirty years old) but I would challenge them to point to a film from 1984 that looks and feels more current in terms of tone, »

In 1984, The Terminator was a relatively low budget ($6.5 million) action-adventure film starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, hot off Conan and Linda Hamilton pre-Beauty and the Beast. Written by James Cameron and Gale Anne Hurd, it was a fun little science fiction film of a potential future that needed to be avoided. Things blew up and Arnold stoically told a cop and the audience, “I’ll be back.” No one knew at the time that the film would trigger such an enthusiastic response, giving us sequels, comics, novels, and a television series. Suddenly, SkyNet, John Conner, Sarah Conner and the Terminator T-800 model would become a part of the social fabric of pop culture. It also got Cameron sued by Harlan Ellison, who successfully argued that the story lifted a lot from the classic “Soldier” story penned for The Outer Limits. Little wonder then, that when Blu-ray discs started showing up, it »
