“One other thing. If you guys ever have kids, and one of them, when he’s eight years old, accidentally sets fire to the living room rug… go easy on him.”
Back To The Future screens this Friday and Saturday nights (June 23rd and 24th) at midnight at the Tivoli Theater as part of their ‘Reel Late at the Tivoli’ Midnight series.
Today, the original Back To The Future (1985) is dated only by its Huey Lewis soundtrack and the choice of a De Lorean as a time machine. Except for a needless scene in which an obviously dubbed Michael J. Fox pretends he’s both Chuck Berry and Jimi Hendrix, there’s little to criticize, and much to admire. One surprise in watching Back To The Future 32 years later is how cleverly the plot and script ties the past and present events together. Watching the film for a second or »

The Gotham Group brought the concept to Amazon Studios. McInerney and The Gotham Group’s Ellen Goldsmith-Vein and Jeremy Bell will serve as executive producers. Novelists Dana Vachon and Gemma Sieff will adapt the books for TV and executive produce. Burr Steers (“Pride and Prejudice and Zombies”) is attached to direct, and will executive produce as well.
The three books — “Brightness Falls,” “The Good Life,” and “Bright Precious Days” — look at a marriage over the course of 30 years. An unforgettable New York story of glamour, sex, ambition, and heartbreak begins in the heady days before the financial crash. Russell and Corrine Calloway seem to be living the dream. But beneath the glossy surfaces, things are simmering — and the Calloways find themselves tested more severely than they ever could have imagined.

Since its inception in 2003, “Jimmy Kimmel Live” has taped at the old Hollywood Masonic Temple on Hollywood Boulevard — now known as the El Capitan Entertainment Center, for the movie theater next door. The entire complex is owned by ABC parent the Walt Disney Co., hence the reason why only Disney films screen at the movie house. Above the movie theater are offices for the show’s staff, including head writers Molly McNearney and Danny Ricker. So if you go see “Cars 3” this summer on Hollywood Boulevard, there’s a chance that you’ll do so as Kimmel’s team sits above you, crafting the latest Matt Damon diss.
Among Ricker’s most prized possessions is a vinyl copy of the “Back to the Future” soundtrack signed by Huey Lewis and Michael J. Fox — sort of. “They signed the plastic cover, which is why it doesn’t look very nice in the frame, because »

Tom Holland reveals how he took a blow to the head while filming Spider-Man: Homecoming. Making action movies can sometimes be hazardous to the health of the actors starring in them. Bruce Willis suffered permanent hearing damage on the set of 1987's Die Hard. Harrison Ford's leg was broken during the production of The Force Awakens when a door on the Millennium Falcon accidentally closed on him. And Michael J. Fox was nearly hanged for real in Back to the Future III while trying to make a hanging scene more believable. And now Tom Holland has joined the elite club of actors injured on set.
Holland spoke to British GQ magazine about his adventures on the set of Spider-Man: Homecoming as well as his self proclaimed "weirdly egg-shaped head." Holland describes that because of his odd-shaped head he needed to have a special helmet on underneath the Spider-Man suit, »
Luke Owen gets hands on with Injustice 2…
Whether you like the DC Extended Universe or not, it’s almost impossible to look at the work NetherRealm Studios have done on Injustice 2 and think, “damn that would make an awesome movie franchise.”
The revival of the Mortal Kombat series via Mortal Kombat 9 has spread through into their DC output, starting with 2013’s very good Injustice: Gods Among Us and into its sequel Injustice 2. It’s got new characters, new movesets, new combos, new locations and a whole new improved feel.
What’s impressive about Injustice 2 is just how inclusive the whole thing feels. Mortal Kombat X, for all the praise one could give it, at times felt like it was aimed at fans of the franchise who want to spend hours, days and weeks learning every single combo technique possible. It felt like a game that was purposefully built just for professional tournaments. »

Fans of Back to the Future have been wondering about a possible addition to the franchise for over 25 years and a new movie does not seem to be possible at this time. Who doesn't love Back To The Future? While Michael J. Fox is fun, and the script tight, it's really Christopher Lloyd's eccentric performance that elevates the film to classic. And, honestly, he's pretty much good in everything - stealing scenes as the stoner in Taxi and even showing real pathos for a nothing villain role in Santa Buddies (a movie, yes, I saw). So... Not all YouTube stars sit in front of their computers and edit videos all day. Some of them are pretty serious athletes, and Callum “Calfreezy” Airey is looking to unite that group with a new venture. He has teamed up digital media company Brave Bison (formerly known as Rightster) to launch Rebel Fc, a new soccer team featuring a roster of YouTube content creators.
The members of Rebel Fc include a number of big-name YouTube stars like Airey and Mike Fox, mid-tier operators like Reev, hughwizzy, and SV2, and smaller creators like Andrew Savva and Rhys Anderson. The group will be managed by Rio Ferdinand, the former Manchester United great who made 81 appearances for England’s national team.
We shouldn’t expect to see Rebel Fc in the Champions League anytime soon, but many of its featured creators have soccer skills to match their videomaking abilities. The team members showed »
