Kristen Stewart (Bella Swan) was introduced to worldwide audiences with her outstanding performance alongside Jodie Foster in Panic Room. Stewart was most recently seen in supporting roles in the dramas Into the Wild for director Sean Penn and as Robert de Niro’s daughter in What Just Happened? for director Barry Levinson. She will next be seen in Adventureland, starring opposite Ryan Reynolds and Jesse Eisenberg for director Greg Mottola. While it should be the stuff of dreams for young actors in Hollywood its not so for Stewart who since making her debut opposite Jodie Foster in 2002s Panic Room has chosen to steer away from big studio movies.nbspThe petite 18yearolds biggest roles to date have been a memorable small part in last years Into the Wild and in the excellent but overlooked kids adventure Zathura. Then Twilight came knocking. Yet Stewart whose screenwriter mother hails from Maroochydore had no interest in taking on the role of Bella a schoolgirl who falls for a vampire. The script was forced on me. It was in a stack of studio movies of Smart options for Kristen she says dryly. Her initial reaction to the synopsis was one of horror. I thought This is crap youre going to present a completely ideological idea of love to 11yearolds and thats so not right. »
In spring of 2007, Dorothy Snarker challenged us to cast the upcoming biopic of the '70s girl-group-punk-band, The Runaways.
I’ve read a few comments indicating that some folks find this to be terrible casting, but I’m not yet sure how to react. I know that I want this movie to be done well. The Runaways paved the way for other women rockers and their legacy deserves respect. Additionally, I’m quite impressed that the band members generally survived teenage punk stardom quite well.

Hollywood thinks Evan Rachel Wood plays a great lesbian. I can't disagree, I have enjoyed all of her roles, especially the ones in which she ends up kissing other girls.
As a preteen, she was playing gay on the TV show Once and Again, where she fell for her Bff, played by Mischa Barton.
In a recent interview, Wood told the UK's Times that her mom was really into her becoming a lesbian icon. (Well, not exactly.) "My mom was obsessed with me being the next Jodie Foster," Wood said. "She »

Actor Gabrielle Christian is best known for her lead role, Spencer Carlin, on the N Network's South of Nowhere. For the past three years, Christian has portrayed a rarity in episodic television – a thoughtful, out and proud teen lesbian with a hot girlfriend who is nobody's side-kick (or a witch).
The 24-year-old Washington DC native landed her first series in 2000 on the short-lived WB show, Young Americans (featuring a young Katherine Moennig as a character named "Jake" because some things never change), and has worked steadily ever since, most recently making guest appearances on CSI: Miami, Numb3ers (both CBS), Girltrash! and an original episode of LadyCop, the show-within-a-show on the web series, 3Way.
Since South of Nowhere's abrupt cancellation, Christian has been devoting her time and celebrity to non-profits such as Fair Fund, an organization that works globally with young women in its fight against human trafficking, domestic violence and sexual assault. »

In researching this list, I made two realizations: most horror films don't bother with supporting casts; the supporters are often ghosts and monsters and supernatural forces (the other humans tend not to listen). And also, there are more great performances by women in horror films. Consider just the list of women who were nominated for -- or won -- Oscars for horror films: Patty McCormack, Janet Leigh, Ruth Gordon, Linda Blair, Ellen Burstyn, Sissy Spacek, Piper Laurie, Sigourney Weaver, Kathy Bates, Jodie Foster, Juliette Lewis, Toni Collette, etc. Perhaps women are more intuitively in touch with the supernatural. Either way, I think I came up with a pretty good list:
Her name's a mouthful, but once you learn to say it, you'll never forget it. She was born in 1876, which put her at about 65 when The Wolf Man was made. She was a theater actor, »

Fox Searchlight has acquired "How to Rig an Election" which Billy Ray will helm and adapt for the studio. Story tells of Gop operative Allen Raymond's fall after campaigning to jam phone lines at Democratic Party HQ. This was done in an attempt to swing a New Hampshire Senate election in 2002. Sources say that Fox Searchlight is considering a 2009 production start for the film based on the Allen Raymond memoir which was published this January by Simon & Schuster. Billy Ray most recently wrote and helmed "Breach" starring Ryan Phillippe and Chris Cooper (Read our interview with Billy Ray and former FBI Agent Eric O'Neill). Before that he wrote "Flightplan" starring Jodie Foster and is also known for his work on the Cruise/Wagner production of "Shattered Glass" starring Hayden Christensen and Peter Sarsgaard which was his first time at the helm. »
A month ago, it was reported that Terry George (Hotel Rwanda) was writing a script for Inside Man 2, a sequel I think most people could agree upon. Spike Lee would return, as would Clive Owen. So far, at least, there has been no discussion about Denzel Washington's place in a sequel, and Jodie Foster hasn't been mentioned, either.
MTV has talked to Foster who seemed completely unaware that a sequel was even being discussed, much less written.
"You have some dope I don’t know about," queried Foster, adding, "Are you writing it or something?"
Jodie did sound interested in the possibility of a sequel, which in one sense is very peculiar since she wanted nothing to do with Hannibal. "I loved that movie; it was a really fun experience for me," she said of Inside Man. "It was the quickest film I think I ever shot. I »

Fresh from a weekend on the set of Yes Man, Jim Carrey went out with Jenny McCarthy for AFI's Night At The Movies presented by Target in La. They weren't the only stars out for the red carpet — Keanu Reeves kept it typically dark while Cameron Diaz had that in love smile on her face though no hot Paul by her side. Plus at the end of those long legs were some adorable polka dot shoes. The event included simultaneous screenings of 12 classic American movies with introductions from their stars — Jim went on stage to talk about Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Keanu for The Matrix, Cameron for There's Something About Mary and on and on from Dustin Hoffman to Mike Meyers. Sounds like a perfect way to take in a Wednesday night at the movies taking a walk down memory lane joined by some of the world's biggest stars. »

Cameron Diaz paid tribute to her late father, Emilio, at a special screening of her star-making turn in There's Something About Mary, pointing out a cameo by her dad in the 1998 film. "My daddy's in this movie for two seconds," Diaz, 36, told the audience while introducing the film at the Target Presents AFI Night at the Movies event at Hollywood's ArcLight Cinemas. It only surfaced in the trades two weeks ago that Inside Man 2 was definitely on track, so you can't blame Spike Lee for not having too many details about the project yet. But when he was asked about the project during a press conference earlier this week for Miracle at St. Anna, he guaranteed fans that the sequel to his most financially successful movie would not be half-assed. "If the script is not better than the first one, myself, Denzel Washignton, Jodie Foster, Clive Owen-- we said we're not doing it," Lee said, as he signed autographs for journalists not above being starstruck. I like the idea of the four of them sitting down in the room, agreeing not to make a bad movie, then throwing all their hands in the middle for a group cheer. I doubt that's what happened, but I'm still just grateful that they're »
