Twin Peaks: Showtime Boss Gives an Update on the Revival

12 August 2016 4:13 PM, PDT | TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news »

The owls are not what they seem. During the TCA summer press tour, Showtime CEO David Nevins and Programming President Gary S. Levine updated critics on the status of the Twin Peaks TV series revival. Production is complete. Creators David Lynch and Mark Frost are now "deep in editing," TV Insider reports. The revival's cast of 217 players includes Kyle MacLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, and Laura Dern.According to the report, Levine said, "In watching a little bit of dailies of Twin Peaks, we were both instantly transported. These weren't even cut scenes. David was happy to share some of it with us and obviously this is a very unique partnership on this series in a way that no other series operates and he's earned that right...it's so singular. We really can't wait to show the world." »

Twin Peaks Pegged For Summer 2017 Premiere, David Lynch Reportedly Helmed All 18 Episodes

26 July 2016 3:09 PM, PDT | We Got This Covered | See recent We Got This Covered news »

Cast your mind back to October of 2014, a time when the largely dormant Twin Peaks fanbase was sent into a collective tailspin upon hearing news that the cult classic would return via limited series.

Fast forward five months and change and the abrupt departure of series creator David Lynch threatened to throw a spanner in the works, after the prestigious filmmaker bowed out of the small-screen revival citing “complications.” That all came to a head in the weeks thereafter and, thankfully, Lynch was back on board.

Whether said complication proved to be a storm in a tea cup is something we’ll likely never know, but the one thing we do know for sure is that Twin Peaks is coming back in 2017 and, according to Ray Wise, is being aligned for a summer premiere over at Showtime.

10 July 2016 3:27 PM, PDT | DailyDead | See recent DailyDead news »

When it comes to horror and sci-fi movies from 1986, there are several milestone titles that always come to mind first: Aliens, The Fly, Blue Velvet, Friday the 13th Part VI: Jason Lives, Manhunter, Poltergeist II: The Other Side, or even Psycho III, just to name a few. But like any great year of cinema, there are always a few underrated gems that get overshadowed along the way and should receive a little extra love. Here are six films from 1986 that I think deserve to be on every genre fan’s radar:

F/X: A movie about a special effects artist who gets mixed up in a government conspiracy, at a time when practical effects were in their heyday? Yes, please. F/X isn’t a film I hear a ton of folks talk about, but it has been on cable a lot lately, which means I’ve spent a few nights revisiting it, »

The 'Twin Peaks' Season 3 premiere date just got narrowed down a little bit more

1 June 2016 5:33 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

David Lynch and Mark Frost's strict code of silence has made news on the Twin Peaks revival tough to come by, but here's something, at least: the show will premiere in the "second quarter" of 2017 (i.e. sometime in April, May, or June). That's according to Showtime president David Nevins, who also noted during a conference call with reporters that Lynch is currently editing the series' third season, which wrapped principal photography back in April.  Twin Peaks originally aired on ABC between 1990 and 1991 before being picked up by Showtime for an extremely-belated Season 3. Original cast members set to return for the revival include Kyle McLachlan, Sherilyn Fenn, Sheryl Lee, Madchen Amick, Ray Wise, Grace Zabriskie and Dana Ashbrook. [Vulture] »

The speech is brief and touching. "There is much we cannot see," Frost said. "Air, for instance. Most of the time. »

'Twin Peaks' cast list: 11 major omissions, from Lara Flynn Boyle to Heather Graham

25 April 2016 4:24 PM, PDT | Hitfix | See recent Hitfix news »

What a way to start off the week! The formidable cast list for Showtime's forthcoming Twin Peaks revival series was revealed this morning, and man, is it a doozy. In addition to boasting such key returning players as Kyle MacLachlan (Dale Cooper), Sheryl Lee (Laura Palmer/Maddy Ferguson) and Sherilyn Fenn (Audrey Horne), there are a number of surprising A-listers in the mix including Michael Cera, Trent Reznor, Amanda Seyfried and Naomi Watts. On the downside, a not-insignificant number of cast members from both the original series and the 1992 prequel film Fire Walk with Me are completely absent from the list. Where, for instance, is Lara Flynn Boyle (or Moira Kelly, for that matter)? Michael Ontkean? Piper Laurie? Joan Chen? Anyone from the mill? (Literally, there is no one from the mill.) So while I'm thankful that most of the major players are back in action, I can't help but »
