28 December 2012 1:41 PM, PST | E! Online | See recent E! Online news »

Matt Damon's already talked about kissing Michael Douglas while playing Liberace's gay lover and his own low-key life as a married father of three in excerpts from his recent Playboy interview released a few weeks ago. Now the full interview is online, including Damon's thoughts about pal Clint Eastwood talking to an empty chair at the Republican National Convention, voting for President Obama again despite some very public reservations and whether he'd ever reteam with Ben Affleck, among other tidbits. It's pretty revealing stuff for a guy who's usually reluctant to discuss his personal life. When asked about Clint's infamous Rnc speech that launched a thousand memes, landed »

Odd List Mark Williams Jan 2, 2013

From superheroes in disguise to vain news anchors, Mark celebrates 12 particularly fine movie journalists...

With the news that Clark Kent has quit his job at the Daily Planet because of its preference for soft entertainment stories, the world of fictional journalism was rocked to its foundations. After all, he's been there since the Superman comics began in the 1940s, despite the lack of career progress. But, it seems the Man of Steel's civilian day-job has lost its appeal, and now he's going into business on his own.

Journalism is a topic that raises its head in films regularly across the genres, and it has provided some fine, and not so fine, examples of the hardy reporter, always on the lookout for the next scoop. Oftentimes, there is the route of the truth or the route of the fast buck, with the majority of those »

Cameron Douglas: Michael Douglas heads to court to support his son's appeal

20 December 2012 9:25 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

Despite Cameron Douglas' troubled life and lengthy prison sentence, he's still got his dad's support. Michael Douglas showed up at a Second Circuit Court of Appeals to try to help his son cut down the additional four-and-a-half years of jail time he has on top of his original five year prison sentence.

"There's not much to say -- it's on appeal," Douglas told reporters when he left the courthouse, The New York Daily News reports. When asked if he was hoping for the best, he replied, "Clearly."

This isn't the first time Douglas has appeared in court for Cameron. He did so twice in 2010 -- once when he was needed to sign a bail package and another when his son was sentenced for the first time. Initially Cameron was sentenced to 10 years in prison for conspiring to distribute four-and-a-half kilos of meth and 20 kilos of cocaine over a three-year time period. »

Cameron Douglas: Michael Douglas' son appeals prison sentence after beating

19 December 2012 10:34 AM, PST | Pop2it | See recent Pop2it news »

After recently being beaten up in prison for being labeled a "rat," Cameron Douglas is doing his best to get out of his jail time. The son of Michael Douglas filed papers to an appeals court to try to lower his nine-and-a-half year prison sentence.

Prosecutors and a lawyer for Douglas have "retold in greater detail than before how a man who seemed to have so many advantages in life could land in prison for a decade on a drug conviction," the Associated Press reports. This appeal is against Judge Richard M. Berman's decision to double Douglas' five year prison sentence after he convinced an attorney to smuggle drugs to him in her bra. It's worth noting that his original sentence was supposed to be for 10 years, but the judge on the case ended up cutting the time in half.

Douglas' lawyer Paul Shectman writes in his brief that »

Jon Voight To Star As Russian Kgb Agent In ‘Reagan’ Biopic?

Ronald Reagan looks to return to the big screen several times over the course of the upcoming years…as a character…not speaking about a zombie Reagan, although that would be cool. Michael Douglas is set to star as Ronald Reagan opposite Christoph Waltz in Mike Newell’s Reykjavik, while Alan Rickman will star as Reagan in Lee DanielsThe Butler. There’s a third film in development simply called Reagan which will be written by Jonas McCord (The Body) and Howard Klausner (Space Cowboys). It is at this point unclear who will direct the project or star in the title role, but it appears that Reagan has found his adversary.

Jon Voight (Deliverance, Heat, Mission: Impossible) is in negotiations to join the film as a retired Kgb agent who used to keep tabs on Ronald Reagan when he was president. The film is framed by ‘a young Russian leader »

1.) Angelina Jolie is in negotiations to direct Unbroken, the story of Olympian-turned-wwii Pow Louis Zamperini, for Universal Pictures. Jolie made her directorial debut with 2011's largely unseen Bosnian war romance In the Land of Blood and Honey. Universal has been developing a film on Zamperini's life for nearly 55 years, with William Nicholson (Gladiator, Les Miserables) delivering the latest draft of the script based on Seabiscuit author Laura Hillenbrand's 2010 book. Zamperini was a track prodigy who ran in the 1936 Olympics, but missed his big chance at glory when the 1940 Olympics were cancelled because of WWII. He then joined the U.S. Air Force, and he and two other crew mates survived on a raft in the hot sun for 47 days after his aircraft went down in the Pacific during a rescue mission. Things only got worse when they were captured by the Japanese Navy. "I read Laura Hillenbrand's brilliant book, »

"The Hangover with old guys"), the movie centers on four old friends (played by Michael Douglas, Robert De Niro, Kevin Kline, and Morgan Freeman) who decide to throw a Las Vegas bachelor party for the only one of them who has remained single. Hit the jump to check out the images.  The Incredible Burt Wonderstone opens March 15, 2013.  Last Vegas opens December 20, 2013. Via USA Today: Via The Lebanese Cinema Movie Guide: »

Cameron Douglas: Michael Douglas' son beaten in prison for bounty

Prison life hasn't been easy for Cameron Douglas. Michael Douglas' son was beaten in prison after a New York City mob boss put a bounty out on his head. The 34-year-old received a broken leg and broken finger after the mobster offered to pay $100 to anyone who hurt the "rat."

The New York Post has the news, and reports that Douglas said he was injured during a handball match. Douglas allegedly dropped out of the prison's flag-football league after he learned that the mob boss had offered payment to anyone who injured him during the game.

"He broke his femur, which is hard to snap, and had to have a rod inserted," a prison source tells the Post. "He told health services staff that he hurt them playing handball. You don't break a femur playing handball."
