A Reminder That SNL's "Back Home Ballers" Is the Best Thanksgiving Sketch Ever

  • BuzzSugar
You know what's awesome about going home for Thanksgiving? Everything. Back in 2014, Saturday Night Live's all-girl group welcomed host Cameron Diaz for a rap about the benefits of traveling home for the holiday. Turns out they're all about napping, using the free WiFi, and eating everything out of bowls. Prepare to get a lot of flashbacks of "(Do It on My) Twin Bed" from 2013. The best part is when Lil' Baby Aidy (Aidy Bryant) takes trash out to the curb and is confronted by a neighbor who just wants to know how she's been doing. So awkward, and so worth revisiting every single year.

Barrymore spent the day treating herself with a haircut, new makeup and getting back to her usual happy self.

‘Saturday Night Live’ Review: Yet Again, Larry David Makes For a Pretty, Pretty Good Host

‘Saturday Night Live’ Review: Yet Again, Larry David Makes For a Pretty, Pretty Good Host
Saturday Night Live” and actual comedians often go together like chocolate and peanut butter (two things which the candy industry often says go together). This was, of course, a talking point for the last new episode of this season, the Kumail Nanjiani episode, and now it’s the case for L-Vid himself, Larry David.

Host: Larry David

“You tolerate me. You really, really tolerate me.”

Those are Larry David’s opening remarks in his monologue, and it’s almost all surprisingly uphill (with a major bump, in the form of a Holocaust joke) from there. “Surprisingly,” because this season’s start has boasted relatively solid monologues so far, only for the main show to end up uneven, unfortunately not always playing to the strengths of its hosts.

At the same time, a sense of confidence and boldness comes with professional maturity. For someone like Larry David, there’s a sense

Harvey Weinstein Produced One of My Favorite Movies. Now What? (Column)

Harvey Weinstein Produced One of My Favorite Movies. Now What? (Column)
One of my favorite films is 2002’s “The Hours.” It is a melodramatic film in some ways, and hugely depressing, too. But at the age of 17 it was absolutely lyrical for me, and that sensibility has not faded for me in the nearly two decades since. But “The Hours” was crucial for other reasons, too. It’s not just a film I loved at a young age; it’s a film that prompted my entrée to critical thinking and awards-season reporting, as I tracked the movie’s progress from one dusty theater in my 24-screen multiplex to the Academy Awards. I was 17 years old when I first read the name Harvey Weinstein in the pages of my religiously perused Entertainment Weekly. I did not realize then, as I know now, that Weinstein was involved in four out of the five nominated Best Picture movies that awards season — “Gangs of New York,” his personal favorite,

Julia Roberts and James Corden Recreate Her Career in 9 Minutes, Have a ‘My Best Friend’s Wedding’ Sing-Along
Julia Roberts is just a girl, standing in front of James Corden, asking him to act out her movies with her. The 49-year-old Oscar winner recreated some of her top films during a clip, which aired on Wednesday's The Late Late Show.

Starting out with her iconic line from Notting Hill, she went on to act out scenes from Runaway Bride, Steel Magnolias, Charlie Wilson’s War, Mystic Pizza, Pretty Woman, Hook, Erin Brockovich, The Pelican Brief, and Sleeping With the Enemy.

When it came time to act out Oceans 11 and 12, Corden stepped out in an interesting outfit.

“What are you doing?” Roberts asked him.

“I’m being George Clooney! I’ve got coffee, tequila, a couple of these,” he said, knocking together some twin baby dolls.

The 7 Best Movies Coming to Netflix in October 2017

The 7 Best Movies Coming to Netflix in October 2017
For movie lovers, October is the gloriously ghoulish time of year when we celebrate one kind of film above all others. That’s right: Biting comedies about dysfunctional New York Jews who finally decide to air their grievances after decades of resentment! Um… well, maybe Netflix didn’t get the memo. It’s not as though the streaming service isn’t scaring up some choice horror titles in time for Halloween (don’t miss “Raw” or “The Cult of Chucky”), but most of the month’s big new additions aren’t exactly in season.

Case in point: The splashiest arrival is a Noah Baumbach film, and it’s safe to say that “The Meyerowitz Stories (New and Selected)” is considerably less frightening than any of the Adam Sandler comedies that Netflix has brought to you before. On the other hand, it’s true that movies can terrify you in a

Good Morning "Angels"

  • SneakPeek
Kristen Stewart ("Twilight") and Oscar-winner Lupita Nyong'o ("12 Years A Slave") are in talks to star in another reboot of "Charlie’s Angels", as "...beautiful girls who live dangerously", to be directed by Elizabeth Banks ("Pitch Perfect 2") targeting a June 7, 2019 release:

Created by Ivan Goff and Ben Roberts for producer Aaron Spelling, the original 1976-1981 TV series line-up of 'Angels' starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett and Jaclyn Smith, followed by a "Charlie's Angels" feature (2000) starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu. That film's sequel was "Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle" .

"...'Sabrina Duncan', 'Jill Munroe' and 'Kelly Garrett' have all graduated from the police academy in Los Angeles, California.

"Despite proving their capability during training, all three have subsequently been assigned to be a meter maid, office worker and crossing guard, respectively.

"Dissatisfied with these jobs, they are recruited to work for the 'Charles Townsend Agency' as private investigators.

Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o circling Charlie’s Angels reboot

It’s been months since the last update on Elizabeth Banks’ silver screen reboot of Charlie’s Angels, but today Variety has broken the silence and revealed the first bit of potential casting information. According to the outlet, Sony is eyeing Twilight star Kristen Stewart to play a member of the titular crime-fighting private detective trio.

The studio is also interested in a number of other names, including Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o, whose involvement with the project sounds slightly less concrete than Stewart’s at the time.

Charlie’s Angels began as a series, which ran on ABC for five seasons from 1976 to 1981 and originally starred Kate Jackson, Jaclyn Smith and Farrah Fawcett (Fawcett and Jackson eventually left the cast and were replaced by Cheryl Ladd, Shelley Hack and Tanya Roberts). Since then, the show has been rebooted a few times, most famously in the early 2000s in the

Charlie's Angels Reboot Eyes Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong'o
With Sony finally moving forward with their Charlie's Angels reboot, after languishing in development for a few years, a new report claims that stars Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong'o are being eyed to play two of the three Angels in this reboot. We reported in May that actress Janelle Monae was at the top of the studio's "wish list" to play one of the Angels, but the actress isn't mentioned in this latest report, so it's possible that she's not in contention for the role anymore. Regardless, with casting starting to heat up, production could begin sooner rather than later.

Variety broke this news today, revealing that the studio is interested in several other "big names" for the reboot, although no specific actors were mentioned. Director Elizabeth Banks came aboard just over two years ago, but our report from May revealed that the script was undergoing a rewrite from Narcos

Kristen Stewart & Lupita Nyong’o Being Eyed for Elizabeth Banks’ “Charlie’s Angels” Reboot

Stewart in “Personal Shopper

Kristen Stewart and Lupita Nyong’o may be stepping in front of the camera for Elizabeth Banks. The actresses are being eyed to star in Banks’ upcoming reboot of “Charlie’s Angels,” Variety reports. Casting is currently underway, and Sony is reportedly interested in several big names for the film, including Stewart and Nyong’o, but nothing is confirmed yet.

Scheduled for a 2019 release, the potential franchise would see Stewart and Nyong’o playing members of a private detective agency hired by an enigmatic millionaire. Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore, Lucy Liu, and Farrah Fawcett are among the actresses who have previously portrayed Angels in film and TV iterations of the story.

After reaching international stardom for her role as Bella Swan in the “Twilight” franchise, Stewart has mostly acted in indies, including “Still Alice” and “The Clouds of Sils Maria,” the latter of which won her a César, France’s equivalent to an Oscar. As the source notes, she hasn’t toplined a major studio tentpole film since 2010’s “Snow White and the Hunstman.” She has, however, signed on to headline “Underwater,” an upcoming blockbuster adventure thriller from Twentieth Century Fox.

Nyong’o won an Oscar in 2014 for “12 Years a Slave.” Her credits include “Star Wars: The Force Awakens,” Mira Nair’s “Queen of Katwe,” and Marvel’s upcoming “Black Panther.”

Banks made her directorial debut with 2015’s “Pitch Perfect 2,” in which she also starred. The comedy about a misfit college a cappella team earned more than $287 million worldwide.

Kristen Stewart & Lupita Nyong’o Being Eyed for Elizabeth Banks’ “Charlie’s Angels” Reboot was originally published in Women and Hollywood on Medium, where people are continuing the conversation by highlighting and responding to this story.
