The Evolution of Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes' Mysterious Relationship

The Evolution of Jamie Foxx and Katie Holmes' Mysterious Relationship
Slowly but surely, Katie Holmes and Jamie Foxx are emerging from their relationship cocoon. The level of privacy that these two decided to operate on marked a whole new chapter in the never-to-be-finished book of how celebrities come together and become couples, their decision to hide in plain sight and deny-deny-deny for almost four years making perfect sense sometimes and no sense at all at others. But maybe it's these times we're living in, or perhaps it's just that some years have passed (and it's now been more than five since Holmes' divorce from Tom Cruise), their kids are growing up, they themselves are growing up—and ultimately what does it really matter,...

Golden Globe 2017 Predictions: What Films Will Score Nominations?

Golden Globe 2017 Predictions: What Films Will Score Nominations?
The Hollywood Foreign Press Assn. will reveal nominations for the 75th annual Golden Globe Awards on Monday. The 90-ish-member organization of international journalists makes a big splash every year with its boozed-up, televised ceremony that of late has a shot at making a real impact on the Oscar race, given that it airs in the thick of Academy voting. (Meryl Streep no doubt gained a few votes after her rousing anti-Trump remarks on last year’s telecast.)

This year the group is in a position to help cull the list of contenders further, after the Broadcast Film Critics Assn. once again found a way to recognize pretty much everything in contention. That said, bear in mind that this is a tight-knit group of press members whose picks are not necessarily indicative of the tastes of a nearly 8,000-person Academy of film professionals.

Case in point, last year’s big winner: “La La Land” walked away with a

Quentin Tarantino’s Planned Star Trek Movie Will Be Rated R

Quentin Tarantino and Star Trek are two things we had never thought about in the same sentence. And yet here we are.

Indeed, only three days have passed since Tarantino delivered his initial pitch to Paramount and J.J. Abrams (Star Wars: Episode IX) and already, Deadline brings word that the wheels are officially in motion. The illustrious filmmaker, who is still plotting a ’60s period drama known only as #9, will presumably bow out after his contribution to the Star Trek franchise, given Tarantino has always vowed to retire after his tenth directorial effort. And yes, it’ll be rated R, which ensures that Qt’s Trek movie really will go boldly where no one has gone before.

Paramount and Abrams reportedly agreed to that condition earlier in the week, when Quentin Tarantino hashed out ideas with three high-profile screenwriters: Mark L. Smith (The Revenant), Lindsey Beer (Chaos Walking, Godzilla Vs. Kong

The 'Today' Show's 11 Biggest Scandals: Matt Lauer's Firing, Kanye West's Epic Call-Out and More

“The thing that I’m saying about Brooke is that there’s misinformation, Ok?" Cruise said. "And she doesn’t understand the history of psychiatry. She doesn’t

It all started with an idea.

In an exclusive report byDeadline, the light bulb above Quentin Tarantino's head has just clicked on with what is being called a great idea for a Star Trek film.  While the idea hasn't been divulged, it's being reported that it's so good that Jj Abrams had to set up a meeting with Paramount Pictures, once he heard about it.  That meeting will be with a group of writers who will put pen to paper and try to produce a well-written movie for Paramount.

If all goes well, Tarantino could get his first directing gig for an existing cinematic franchise, with Abrams producing.

Tom Cruise and the failed United Artists experiment

Simon Brew Dec 14, 2017

In late 2006, with much fanfare, Tom Cruise was announced as headlining a revived United Artists. But what went wrong?

Lurking in the corners of Netflix UK is a not-very-widely-seen Tom Cruise movie, that a decade ago was all set to herald a new filmmaking dawn. Directed by Robert Redford, and with a cast that includes Redford, Cruise, Meryl Streep and a then-relatively-unknown Andrew Garfield, Lions For Lambs looked on paper to be a heavyweight political drama. Its focus is on three stories: an ambitious politician giving an interview to tough reporter, an army platoon being ordered to go on a top secret mission by said politician, and a professor trying to talk a promising student into turning his life around.

It looked like Oscar-bait. It turned out to be a footnote to the failure to resurrect United Artists.

United Artists was originally founded in 1919 by Charlie Chaplin,

Practically No One Involved in “Interview with the Vampire” Movie Read Anne Rice’s Book

You might not believe this but almost no one that was involved with the film Interview With The Vampire actually read the book. Tom Cruise managed to read the entire series so he was at least up on what the part had to offer and what the story was all about. However Brad Pitt and the director, Neil Jordan, didn’t bother reading the entire book. In Jordan’s case it’s been said that he was simply too lazy to read the series, while Pitt didn’t get past the first chapter since he thought the book was a waste of time. That’s
