A Roseanne revival is in the works!
The '90s comedy is getting an eight-episode reboot starring Roseann Barr, John Goodman and Sara Gilbert, according to Deadline. Laurie Metcalf and other original cast members have also reportedly signed on.
Deadline reports that the revival will be executive produced by the original series' executive producers Barr, Tom Werner and Bruce Helford, with Gilbert and Whitney Cummings also on board to produce. ABC (Roseanne's original network) and Netflix (which has found success with reboots like Fuller House, Arrested Development and Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life) are reportedly both bidding on the project.
A source tells Et that the revival is still in early discussions, but should the deal close, Goodman will be a part of it, while another source close to Barr confirms "things are in the works."

Batman has come a very long way on screen from its relatively humble Adam West roots. DC Comics' beloved crimefighter is in a bit of an odd spot right now following the release of Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice, with Ben Affleck set to reprise his role in Justice League and probably a solo Batman movie after that, but the future beyond is less certain. So, what should Warner Bros. do if they need to fill those shoes once again? Well, they could always give Val Kilmer a call again, because he would be totally up for it.
The 57-year-old actor recently did a Reddit Ama and at one point, he was asked about the role of Batman/Bruce Wayne, which he took on in 1995's Batman Forever. Specifically, he was asked whether or not he would reprise the role one more time, given the chance. His response was very simple and definitive. »

Image Source: Getty / Mike Coppola George Clooney may now be happily married to wife Amal and expecting twins, but long before the human rights lawyer came along, George was one of Hollywood's hottest bachelors. The actor swore he would never get married again (he was married to actress Talia Balsam from 1989 to 1993) and even said he didn't "have that gene that people have to replicate." Being friends with Matt Damon, George Clooney, and Brad Pitt might look fun, but it also seems extremely dangerous. While all three are Hollywood legends in their own right, the series of pranks the Ocean's Eleven costars have been pulling on one another for over 15 years are on a whole new level. During a recent interview with E! News, Matt actually revealed that George has slowed his roll when it comes to practical jokes now that he's going to be a dad, because "he's got a full-time job and a full-time family." Luckily we've been keeping track of all the antics George, Matt, and Brad (especially) have gotten up to. …Let’s hope the dogs don’t die.
On Tuesday, the first poster for Wes Anderson’s newest feature film since 2014’s The Grand Budapest Hotel was released. Whilst not much is known about the story of Isle of Dogs, its poster reveals small details about what to expect, and, more importantly, the influence of Akira Kurosawa on the stop-motion animation.
Set in Japan, the poster’s large, red font places the Japanese title at the center, with its English translation held within the script. Wes Anderson’s posters usually have either one clear defining image at the forefront or a depiction of the ensemble cast, so Isle of Dogs is a slight departure from what Anderson’s audience are used to.
The poster for The Royal Tenenbaums places family at the center while Anderson’s classic Futura font title stayed beneath the family as something that was not meant to draw attention. Moonrise Kingdom »

The actors whose role in a film was shot, but chopped out of the final cut...
See related Amazon Prime UK: what’s new in May 2017?
What I’ve tried to find here is a mix of reasonably known and less known instances of an actor being cut out of a film after they’ve filmed sequences for it. I’ve also tried to get to the reason they were left out as well.
Whilst all this may still sound like an exercise in clickbait, being cut out of a production does have a consequence beyond ego hurting a bit. For the side effect of being cut out of a »

Paris — Julianna Margulies was in Paris this week as a key note speaker at the 8th Series Mania.
She wasn’t pulling any punches in talking politics and was quick to defend the arts, advocate for victims of gun violence, and take a swing at the White House.
On protecting the arts: “What we have to remember is that what we are left with, our history as a people, is the arts. It’s so important in America now with the threat of arts funding being cut.”
She was cautious concerning what the future may bring. “Journalists are having to raise money to get paid to report truthfully. This is a frightening moment where our core values as human beings are being challenged.”
It was not all gloom and doom, however, as the actress noted that this is also a time of opportunity. “The beauty is the energy it’s created to overcome that. We »

Micah Green, the co-head of the film finance and sales group at Creative Artists Agency, is leaving his agency home to start a new venture with billionaire Dan Friedkin, Variety has learned. The new company is still being formed and has not been named, but it will be investing in the media and entertainment business.
Green plans to leave CAA by the start of next month’s Cannes Film Festival. He will be at the French Riviera gathering on behalf of the new venture.
The company will be based in Los Angeles and will be hiring staff in the coming weeks. Green became friendly with Friedkin while the entrepreneur’s Imperative Entertainment was bidding on the rights to “Killers of the Flower Moon: An American Crime and the Birth of the FBI,” a hot literary property that sold last year for $5 million.
