George Clooney and Arnold Schwarzenegger have paid tribute to revered U.S. news anchor Walter Cronkite, who passed away on Friday.
The legendary broadcaster died at his New York home with his family at his bedside after a long illness, aged 92.
Cronkite fronted the evening news for American TV network CBS from 1962 to 1981.
Former action star-turned-California Governor Schwarzenegger was saddened to hear of his passing, and described him as "the most trusted man in America".
He says, "For decades, Walter Cronkite was the fixture in American living rooms whose reassuring voice reported on some of the most important moments in our nation's history. He was the most trusted man in America who calmly explained monumental events such as the Vietnam War, Watergate, and the moon landing - events that shaped and defined a generation.
"Walter remains the benchmark for what it means to be a television journalist and he will be missed. Maria and I join all Californians in expressing our sadness over his passing and we send our thoughts and prayers to Walter's family and friends."
Ocean's Eleven star Clooney was also full of praise for Cronkite: "He was the most important voice in our lives for thirty years. And that voice made people reach for the stars. I hate the world without Walter Cronkite."

George Clooney, Hollywood's unofficial spokesman for everything, was among the first to pay tribute to that other great voice of a generation, Walter Cronkite. "He was the most important voice in our lives for thirty years," the Oscar winner, who delved into the history of the CBS newsroom when he directed and costarred in Good Night and Good Luck, said in a statement Friday night. "And that voice made people reach for the stars. I hate the world without Walter Cronkite. " A strong sentiment, one shared in essence by many. Christina Applegate is another celeb who had an enounter with the sonorous anchor, who died Friday at the age of 92 after a long...

A couple of high quality images from Wes Anderson’s stop-motion animated film Fantastic Mr. Fox are now online. The film is an adaptation of the classic Roald Dahl story of the same name, which centers on Angry farmers who, tired of sharing their chickens with a sly fox, look to get rid of their opponent and his family. It arrives in theater in November. Anderson co-wrote the screenplay with Noah Baumbach (The Squid and the Whale) and the film features an all-star cast of voice talent including George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Michael Gambon, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Willem Dafoe, Adrien Brody, Brian Cox, Anjelica Huston, Helen McCrory and Jason Schwartzman. Check out the pics below as well a higher quality version of the previously released first image.

The first image from Wes Anderson’s animated take on Roald Dahl’s The Fantastic Mr fox has arrived online. JoBlo got their paws on the pic, which you can see below. We’d almost thought Anderson and co had forgotten about it, given the lack of trailers and promotional pics. But then, you have to remember just how long stop-motion animation truly takes. The pic features the voices of George Clooney (as our hero), Meryl Streep (as Mrs Fox) and Bill Murray as Badger (also shown below). Image removed at the...

High resolution versions of two images from Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox starring the voices of George Clooney, Cate Blanchett and Bill Murray have appeared online via website Filmsactu.com. The group shot previously appeared at JoBlo.com but was much smaller and grainier. This new version is considerably larger with less cropping that reveals a few new characters. The second image features Mr. Fox in some sort of reading room, standing in front of a picture full of badgers. More so than the first image, this one has more of a tactile feel to the character model and surroundings. I can't wait to see these foxes and other critters in motion. Fantastic Mr. Fox is due for release on November 13 and is expected to be unveiled to the public by Fox at Comic-Con next week. Click either of the images to view larger versions.

Wes Anderson’s highly anticipated adaptation of Roald Dahl’s classic children’s book, The Fantastic Mr. Fox, has been kept quiet and under wraps. But as the film’s release date creeps closer, it seems like we’ve been getting nothing on this film… until right now! Ain’t It Cool News posted the first photos from the movie we’ve seen! They look absolutely amazing. In case you’re not familiar with the book, the story follows Mr. Fox and his family who are targeted by wealthy, angry farmers after the fox steals their chickens, ducks and turkeys.
Hopefully some more photos, and maybe even a trailer (fingers crossed!) will be revealed at Comic-Con next week. The Fantastic Mr. Fox, featuring the voice of Meryl Streep, Owen Wilson, Michael Gambon, Bill Murray and George Clooney as Mr. Fox, creeps into theaters November 15.

Dana Carvey visited 'The Tonight Show With Conan O'Brien' Wednesday night and did an exhausting series of riffs on everyone from Sonia Sotomayor to Conan and his predecessors, Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. The veteran celebrity impersonator (also known as Garth of 'Wayne's World' fame) and Conan reminisced about their early days on SNL together and laughed about the political destinies of Arnold Schwarzenegger and Al Franken. In part 2, Carvey talks about his recent trip to Italy, during which he circled George Clooney's house on Lake Como in a boat, and imitates his teenage son: "We're just gonna hang out in this weird old stadium?" Then he reenacts smoking pot with Paul McCartney. ("Paul, I don't know why they can't fill the world with silly love songs.") Watch: Follow HuffPo Entertainment On Twitter!...

Two new images from "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" have made their way out via Filmsactu. One of the images displays Mr. Fox voiced by George Clooney standing in what seems to be a library or study with his body facing a wall in which a painting of badgers is hung.
Meanwhile, the second photo is in essence the same with the previously-released picture of the animation from Joblo. It still features Mr. Fox, with Meryl Streep's Mrs. Fox and Bill Murray's Badger standing behind him, but in addition, this new one is larger and shows two other characters.
The photos aside, "The Fantastic Mr. Fox" is based on Roald Dahl's novel with the same title. The story centers on the clever fox Mr. Fox who must outwit three mean, dimwitted farmers who try their hardest to hurt Mr. Fox and his family. In making the stop-motion film,

Here are a couple of gorgeous hi-res images from Wes Anderson's incoming Fantastic Mr Fox adaptation. The first in the set (haha, you see, because foxes live in... never mind) shows us a pyjama-clad Mr Fox and his family with a lantern in a tunnel. So presumably that's from the part where they're escaping from the farmers in their bulldozer. Boggis, Bunce and Bean, one fat, one short, one lean, etc.The other shows Fox in front of a portrait of martial-looking badgers, which we guess is in the home of Mr Badger himself.Fox is voiced by George Clooney, his wife by Meryl Streep, and Badger by Bill Murray. Anderson's take on Roald Dahl's 1970 novel hit some tough times when original collaborator Henry Selick's production company Revolution (they did the stop-motion fish in Anderson's The Life Aquatic With Steve Zissou) folded in 2006, and Selick himself moved on to Coraline.

Two images have emerged giving us the first look at The Fantastic Mr. Fox, an animated film adapted and directed by Wes Anderson. Based on the book by Roald Dahl, the film focuses on a crafty fox (voiced by George Clooney) who finds himself and his family targeted for death by the three dumb, plug-ugly farmers who tire of sharing their chickens with the critter. The film also features the voices of Cate Blanchett, Bill Murray, Jason Schwartzman and Meryl Streep. As a fan of Royal Tenenbaums, Bottle Rocket, and Rushmore, I’m excited to see another Wes Anderson movie. However, I’m a little underwhelmed by the style of it. It looks like taxidermy. Not to be morbid, but it looks like someone is posing dead animals admiring a...

Not long ago the first image from Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox arrived online and was quickly removed, but now the French website filmsactu has nabbed the first two images from Fox France and, well, here they are. Starring the voices of Meryl Streep, George Clooney, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson, Jason Schwartzman, Adrien Brody and Anjelica Huston among others, the film reunites your typical Anderson cronies and adds a few more to the filmmaker's ever-growing list of regulars.

Based on Ronald Dahl's book of the same name, the film follows Mr. Fox (Clooney) and his family who are targeted by wealthy, angry farmers after the fox steals their chickens, ducks and turkeys from right underneath their noses. This is the first adaptation for Anderson, who up until this point has collaborated with a handful of close friends (Owen Wilson, Noah Baumbach, Roman Coppola) on original stories.

Iron Man 2 isn't the only movie we have a new batch of photos from today! FilmsActu has dug up a high res set of photos from Wes Anderson's Fantastic Mr. Fox. The very first photo of Anderson's Mr. Fox, voiced by George Clooney, ended up on the web last week. But Fox (isn't it ironic that they're distributing this?) had us pull the photo down because it had made its way back to Anderson and had made him pretty upset that a bad photo like that was the first thing everyone was seeing. However, we now have two bigger and better photos from Fantastic Mr. Fox today that are worth checking out. I'm still quite excited for this! Fantastic Mr. Fox features George Clooney and Cate Blanchett as the voices of Mr. and Mrs. Fox (seen holding the lantern above), Bill Murray as Mr. Badger, plus Meryl Streep

Our friends over at /film can read French. In fact, they flaunt it in our face every time we meet up at junkets and conventions, ordering exotic foods like French toast and putting accents on everything in sight. It's a skill that's paid off, because they caught wind of a French film site with two solid pictures from Wes Anderson's upcoming Fantastic Mr. Fox. Since my ability to read Aramaic has never paid off, I may start looking into learning a different language. We've been keeping tabs on this project ever since we labeled it one of the 25 Most Anticipated of 2009, and for good reason. Not only is it a Roald Dahl adaptation (think Willy Wonka and James and the Giant Peach), but it's Anderson working with a cast of George Clooney, Meryl Streep, Jason Schwartzman, Anjelica Huston, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Willem Dafoe. And did I mention that Noah Baumbach co-wrote the script? So

Filmsactu.com has two photos from Wes Anderson's upcoming Fantastic Mr. Fox, starring the voice talents of George Clooney, Cate Blanchett and Bill Murray. One is essentially the same as the image we saw last week, but it is much larger and shows a couple more characters. The other shows only Mr. Fox (Clooney), standing in a library or study in front of a painting of a bunch of badgers -- does that mean he's in the home of Mr. Badger, voiced by Bill Murray? See the images in full after the break. It's interesting that these show up now, because a couple of sites that republished the image that JoBlo had last week were hit with cease and desist orders from Fox. That didn't make sense, since the image seemed to have been officially released, but this is the Fox publicity department, so who knows? I like seeing

Charles M. Schulz’s beloved Peanut gang has been repackaged dozens of times over: the comic strip, storybooks, Broadway plays and, of course, the cartoons. Some of the cartoons have become staples of holiday tradition while others have been marginalized with nowhere near the same attention. Charlie Brown’s miserable Christmas tree, the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown’s sad walking music and Snoopy’s suppertime dance have permeated pop culture in ways guaranteed to make you smile. This latest assembly of (almost) all of the original 1960s cartoons reminds us what makes them so iconic even with noticeably aged animation – these things are classic.
“A Charlie Brown Christmas” (1965)
A yuletide masterpiece, this tale of Charlie Brown’s Christmas woes has a very traditional bent to it: the man of infinite melancholy just can’t seem to get into the holiday cheer. Can Charlie Brown’s friends help him out? Will
