Cage Stuck with Film House

24 December 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Oscar winner Nicolas Cage has been lumbered with a house in New Orleans, Louisiana, after buying it for his new movie. The actor decided to buy a house for sale to use as a location in his directorial debut Sonny - but now he can't get rid of it. He says, "New Orleans is almost like an historical landmark and because of that you have a lot of controls put on you not to change anything. So buying the house facilitated me in a lot of ways but I haven't really been back in a while. I was able to design my sets and change the paint on the walls and get very customized about how the movie should look and so much of it was shot in the house. But now I don't know what I'm going to do now with it." »

Delighted Dellinger says, "I can't mention the amount, but it was healthy. When they looked at the facts, they decided to straighten this thing out." »

Cage's Ex-Wife Caused Presley Split

9 December 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Hollywood hunk Nicolas Cage's three-month marriage to Lisa Marie Presley reportedly collapsed because the Wild At Heart star insisted on spending nights with the mother of his child. British tabloid The Daily Star reports that the Gone In Sixty Seconds star often slept at the home of actress Kristina Fulton so he could be with their 11-year-old son Weston. A source claims that Presley and Fulton despise each other, and Lisa found it impossible to interact with Weston. The source says, "It was hard enough for Lisa Marie to accept as a newlywed that she and him were spending sexless nights apart. But the fact that he was with an old flame simply infuriated her." And the animosity between the two ladies in Cage's life was apparently mutual. The source continues that Kristina "hated Lisa with a passion and let Cage know it at every chance she could. During a premiere last year, Kristina, who came with Weston, said she thought Lisa Maria was 'motherf***ing ugly'. Nic was thoroughly embarrassed." Cage's hectic filming schedule also proved problematic for his new wife. The source says, "It was two weeks apart at one point, and they both began to realize that was abnormal for newlyweds. And when they were together, they fought over every little thing. The more th ey fought, the less Cage wanted to be around her." »

I'm choosing independence. I ditched all that stuff to please her - but she wants more. I should have stood up to her from the start. She didn't just want me, she wanted my soul." »

WMA inks Scott as helmer seeks next film project

31 October 2002 | The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News | See recent The Hollywood Reporter - Movie News news »

After being agentless for more than a year, filmmaker Ridley Scott has signed with WMA for representation in all areas. The signing is a coup for WMA because many insiders had expected Scott to remain without an agent after his exit from CAA in August 2001 after more than 10 years with the agency (HR 8/23). At WMA, Scott will be repped by a team of agents. That team, most likely, is already working overtime to find Scott his next project. The director had been eyeing the 20th Century Fox epic Tripoli, with Russell Crowe set to star, as his next directorial outing, but the project has been postponed for a year, leaving Scott with a slot to fill. According to sources, Scott wants to find something to shoot in Los Angeles before segueing to Tripoli next year. He is in postproduction on the dark comedy Matchstick Men, starring Nicolas Cage, Sam Rockwell and Alison Lohman. »

Nicolas Cage made sure his wedding vows would last forever by casting a voodoo love spell on his bride Lisa Marie Presley. The movie star invited a voodoo priestess from New Orleans to his Hawaii wedding in August in a bid to make sure his bride's third attempt at married life would be her last, according to American tabloid National Enquirer. Right after their minister married them, I burned incense and sprinkled perfumes in a circle around them. More Drug Revelations from Lisa Marie

19 September 2002 | WENN | See recent WENN news »

Actor Nicolas Cage's new wife Lisa Marie Presley's drug problems started when she got hooked on cocaine at 14. In a rare interview as part of a Biography special on her mother Priscilla on cable channel A&E, Lisa Marie opens up about her drug past and her relationship with her mother. But it's her drug revelations, which will shock fans of the Presleys. The 34-year-old daughter of Elvis Presley says, "I was very wild and I put my mother through hell during that period." Priscilla adds, "Lisa has always been a child who has wanted to make her own mistakes and that's tough on a parent." Desperate to turn her daughter away from drugs, Priscilla checked her into the Scientology Drug Rehab Program, where Lisa Marie learned to leave her wild habits behind her and get on with life. Mom and daughter now have a fantastic relationship, as Lisa Marie embarks on a new stage in her life as the wife of movie star Nicolas Cage, and she says that she'll always turn to her mother when things go awry. She explains, "When you have children at a young age you tend to grow up with them and that's kind of how she and I were. She's got it figured out. I've been in unusual circumstances, born into one and then I continue to have them, so when I go through them she's fully aware of many aspects of those things, and I will call her and say what in the hell do I do now? She's walked a pretty straight path and she has had it together for a long time and now being a mother I understand." Priscilla admits she's very proud of what her daughter has become: "If she needs my opinion I will give it to her, but she's really come into her own and she knows what she wants." »
