Courtney Love called her 17-year-old daughter “deceptive” and “deluded” on Facebook—and that certainly wasn't the first time a celebrity has lashed out at a child. The Frisky lists a few other trainwrecky parent-child relationships: Michael Lohan: He’s made a name for himself by discussing estranged daughter Lindsay’s problems with anyone who will listen, not to mention leaking taped conversations with—and about—her. Alec Baldwin: Possibly the most well-known of the bad celebrity parents, he famously called daughter Ireland a “rude, thoughtless pig” in a voicemail leaked by ex-wife Kim Basinger. Jon Voight: He went on Access Hollywood to

Case 39
Opens: January 1st 2010
Cast: Renée Zellweger, Jodelle Ferland, Ian McShane, Bradley Cooper, Kerry O'Malley
Director: Christian Alvart
Summary: A family services social worker thinks she has seen it all until she meets her newest, most mysterious case - a troubled 10-year old girl whose parents try to kill her. The social worker decides to take her in herself until the right foster family comes along.
Analysis: Despite the presence of promising German director Christian Alvart ("Pandorum"), 'Case' has sat on a shelf since late 2006 and is finally being quietly shuffled out as the lone release on New Year's Day for one very good reason - it stinks. Having opened in Australia a few months back, reviewers utterly savaged the film as both incredibly dumb and utterly ludicrous. Lead star Renee Zellweger also scored personal criticism to a level rarely seen in film reviews outside of comments about Nicole Kidman

"Gossip Girl" hints on its 2010 preview that all will be a little less complicated in the Upper East Side from here, stating "good things happen to those who wait". The drama is taking Winter break to be back on March 8 with the episode "Jenny, Full of Grace". During January and February, the show will be at rest because "Life Unexpected" is taking its 9/8c slot.
On another news, actor Andrew McCarthy is on board the show to direct an episode airing in Spring. On why he landed the choice of going back to his roots on "Gossip", McCarthy told People, "They [the cast] are much more savvy than we [Brat Pack] were. We were just a bunch of dumb kids running around."
Saying he can't give much on the plot he's directing, McCarthy gave a little hint "Except, there is a '9 1/2 Weeks' kind of thing going on in one story line." The mentioned

Andrew McCarthy is trading in a Georgetown bar for the Upper East Side, as he has signed on to direct an episode of "Gossip Girl" next year.
The CW has confirmed to Zap2it that McCarthy directed an episode for next spring -- shooting has already wrapped. McCarthy tells People, "We have a nice episode, all sorts of juicy little things happen" and goes on to hint at a "9 1/2 Weeks" situation in one of the storylines.
From what we remember of "9 1/2 Weeks," it tells the tale of an art gallery assistant (Kim Basinger) who gets pulled into an affair with a man (Mickey Rourke) who is into some rather kinky sex games.
Hmmm. Who on "Gossip Girl" has been involved in an art gallery? People speculated this storyline was about Serena and Tripp, but we're putting money on Lily and Rufus. Uh oh.

Andrew McCarthy, the star of some of the most iconic teen movies of the '80s (Pretty in Pink, Less Than Zero), is getting back to his roots by taking on the CW's sexy drama, Gossip Girl.
McCarthy, who will direct an episode set to air in the spring, says the show's young stars are different than the ones who came to be known as the Brat Pack. "They are much more savvy than we were," McCarthy tells People of Gossip Girl's cast. "We were just a bunch of dumb kids running around."

Zac Efron has opened up about the daredevil stunt he performed when he was in production for "Charlie St. Cloud". Being a guest at "Late Show with David Letterman", the leading man of the "High School Musical" series admitted to host David Letterman he had done some bungee jumps while filming for the movie in Vancouver, Canada.
"We [my friends and I] had this brilliant idea to wake up in the morning and go bungee jumping which isn't really a good idea when you're in production, because you've signed various contracts saying you won't," the 22-year-old recalled on his thrill-seeking act. "You can divide the world into guys who will do it and guys who won't do it. I'm definitely one who will."
The boyfriend of fellow "HSM" star, Vanessa Hudgens, went on detailing, "It's a pretty surreal feeling to be honest. I did kind of a back flip when I went off. Falling face first.

Jeremy Renner (The Hurt Locker) has had discussions with Marvel about portraying Hawkeye in Thor and The Avengers.
“Hawkeye could be interesting,” Renner said. “I’d love for that to happen. It’d be fun… I’m just happy to get considered for big franchise roles like that.”
He added: “[Marvel are] going to send me some stuff on it, see what it is, but I think they’re pretty awesome, trying to make superhero movies almost plausible and not just some fantasy thing.”
Here’s some information on Hawkeye in case you’re not a nerd:
While Hawkeye has no superhuman powers, he is a trained athlete and tactician, being at the very peak of human conditioning. The character is a grandmaster marksman, having been trained by the criminal archer Trick Shot, and has been a highly trained acrobat and aerialist since his days in the circus. Hawkeye has been thoroughly

10 closest Oscar races in the past 20 years

One of the shrewdest Oscarologists on the planet is Tariq Khan of Fox News, who often generously shares his views of current and past derbies with Gold Derby readers. Here he takes a nostalgic look at the past two decades, offering his take on the most competitive derbies. Words below are Tariq's. Thanks, m'friend!
We’ve often discussed those Oscar races that seem just too close to call . . . where it’s clear (or at least seems clear) that the eventual winner will nab the Oscar with only a few more votes than his or her nearest competitor.
While we can never really know for sure (unless we get one of those top jobs at the accounting firm of PricewaterhouseCoopers,) we do have some idea of what may have been the closest races in Oscar history. Allow me to present what I believe were the 10 closest acting races over the course of the past 20 years.

Today is the 109th anniversary of one Chester Gould the creator of Dick Tracy. Every time Dick Tracy (1990) comes up, I think "you should watch that movie again!" but I never do. I think I'm still mad that Warren Beatty kept cutting away from Madonna's "More" performance... which should've easily been one of the best movie musical numbers of the 90s (sigh). Otherwise I quite like the movie
Trivia Alert! Dick Tracy is one of Oscar's two favorite comic book movies along with The Dark Knight (2008). Their Oscar track was very similar. Dick Tracy had 7 nominations and 3 wins. The Dark Knight had 8 nominations and 2 wins and in mostly the same categories, too.

When I was a kid, my mom would make birthday cakes that looked like trains, or zoo cages. One time there was a really, really scary clown. There are psychic scars, to be sure, but they're likely nothing compared to poor Ireland Basinger-Baldwin, 14, daughter of battling ex's Kim Basinger and Alex Baldwin.
The teen — who, you might recall, was on the wrong end of a really nasty voicemail from her pops two years ago — reportedly got a frighteningly accurate specialty birthday cake last week in the shape of Lil Wayne's head, complete with licorice dreads, chocolate sunglasses and iced out icing grill. We have no idea if this story is true (since the image from Los Angeles ace cake shop Rosebud Cakes has since been removed from its Flickr account), but any way you slice it, that is the most Wtf?-tastic cake we've ever seen.
Congratulations Kim and Alex,

Who says Uma Thurman can’t be funny?
Thurman, who just wrapped up playing Medusa in Percy Jackson & the Olympians: The Lightning Thief, has joined the cast of Ceremony, a romantic comedy from Nala Films. She will play a Milf (sigh) on the verge of holy matrimony but is courted by a younger man (Michael Angarano).
Ceremony is written and directed by Max Winkler (The Adventurer’s Handbook) with production to begin in late October in Long Island.
Nala Films just completed the Julianne Moore-Jonathan Rhys Meyers supernatural thriller, Shelter, from directors Mans Marlind and Bjorn Stein.

Mixed martial arts fighter Gina Carano is the kind of gal you’d like to meet. Smart (I’m assuming), sexy (clearly not assuming) and has the ability to defend you against attackers, Carano looks like she should be in movies.

Hugh Hefner has had his share of Hollywood actresses pose for Playboy including Kim Basinger, Drew Barrymore, and Heidi Montag, just to name a few. There never seems to be a shortage of beauties willing to grace the pages of his magazine. Hefner has even invited young Hollywood starlet Miley Cyrus to pose nude once she turns 18, calling her a "very pretty lady" and saying "she'd be welcomed in the magazine." And of course there's still those celebrities that have yet to pose but who he would be very pleased to accept - including Britney Spears and Jessica Simpson. But now his eye is on Megan Fox, and he wants the raven 24-year-old beauty to bare all. Fox has seen her popularity skyrocket since the Transformers movies and, just recently, Jennifer's Body. She's already gone topless for the latter, making boys everywhere swoon, so why not go all the way?
