Patricia Arquette Granted Dismissal of Divorce Case

9 July 2009 9:12 PM, PDT | From Aceshowbiz | See recent Aceshowbiz news

It's official, Patricia Arquette's divorce to husband Thomas Jane is off. The small screen actress filed a petition on Tuesday, July 7, asking the dismissal of her divorce case which she filed earlier this year. She was granted a dismissal on Thursday, July 9.

No detail was included in the one-sheet legal document on the reason that prompted Patricia to call off her divorce. Representatives for her and Thomas also hadn't issued a single comment on the matter.

Patricia Arquette and Thomas Jane have been married for nearly three years when she filed for divorce from him in early January. Citing irreconcilable differences as the reason to seek separation from her actor husband, Patricia sought a sole legal and physical custody of their daughter, Harlow Olivia Calliope, with visitation rights for him.

Later that month, the pair sparked reconciliation rumors after they sent out joint invitations to friends and family for

Patricia Arquette Still Hung Up on Thomas Jane

9 July 2009 4:30 PM, PDT | From E! Online | See recent E! Online news

Patricia Arquette is done trying to divorce Thomas Jane. Less than a month after the Medium star and her famous siblings were spotted at the launch party for Jane's new HBO series, Hung, a judge has signed off on her request to abandon the divorce petition she filed in January. Arquette filed the request Tuesday, and it was approved today. Neither actor's rep had any comment, and no details were included in the one-page document as to what led to their reconciliation—though it appears that the two continued to spend quality time together despite the proposed split. In addition to hanging at the Hung party in June, Jane and Arquette also cohosted a soiree in February for the composer who scored...

Inside track: Emmy race for lead actress in a drama

4 July 2009 7:01 PM, PDT | From Gold Derby | See recent Gold Derby news

Since the Emmys have ditched the judging panels to determine nominees, letting the lineups be chosen strictly by an outright popular balloting of the TV academy's acting branch, that means the outcome should be more predictable than usual. Expect last year's champ Glenn Close ("Damages") and 2007 winner, 2008 nominee and double Oscar victor Sally Field ("Brothers & Sisters") to return. Ditto perennial nominees Mariska Hargitay ("Law & Order: Svu") and Kyra Sedgwick ("The Closer"). Voters usually drive a stake through the Emmy hopes of the stars of vampire shows (poor "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar was never nommed despite shrieks of outrage from every TV critic), but Anna Paquin ("True Blood") has two pluses: being on HBO and owning an Oscar ("The Piano"). Past Oscar champ for the same film, Holly Hunter, was nominated last year for "Saving Grace," so she'll probably be back. That leaves one more slot open,

Uh...What? Oldman the Dwarf in 'Tiptoes'?

2 July 2009 4:20 PM, PDT | From GetTheBigPicture.net | See recent Get The Big Picture news

I had the hardest time believing this was real. But as it turns out, there was a romantic comedy about six years ago called Tiptoes. It starred Matthew McConaughey, Kate Beckinsale, Gary Oldman, Patricia Arquette, and Peter Dinklage. I never heard of it until earlier this afternoon.

It was never released in the U.S. theatrically, popping up on DVD in August 2004, but I'm still surprised the subject of Tiptoes never came up. You see, not only does it look for all the world like one of the worst movies ever made...it's about dwarves. And Gary Oldman is one of the little people.

I'll leave it at that. Watch the trailer and chart your emotions:

Suplee Fumes Over Earl Axing

24 May 2009 4:05 PM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

My Name Is Earl star Ethan Suplee has slammed network bosses for cancelling the show without warning - because he's convinced his campaign to save it would have worked if he'd had more time.

After announcing NBC's decision to axe the comedy series on his Twitter.com blog, Suplee quickly urged fans to sign a petition urging network chiefs to change their minds.

He's praying the campaign works, but fears he's too late to save the show - which has run for four years - because he had no warning about the cancellation.

Suplee tells PopEater.com, "It would have been nice to get a call two weeks ago, or a week ago, saying 'Hey, this isn't going to work.' Or even months ago. If they'd said, 'We really don't know,' we could have done something."

He is even more angry with the reasons NBC entertainment boss Ben Silverman gave for the axing - and is begging fans to put pen to paper in a bid to save the show.

He adds, "When it happened, (co-chairman of NBC Entertainment) Ben Silverman said the reason they picked up Chuck and not Medium and Earl is that the fans didn't make a big stink about picking up Earl or Medium.

"If it's just a matter of some people saying, 'We want to watch the show,' let's see if some people want to say that."

Suplee insists he'd be happy with just a partial reprieve, because he's desperate to give the programme - about a man on a mission to repent his sins - some closure, adding, "Ultimately there are just a couple more episodes that I'd like to see done. It doesn't have to be the show that runs infinitely, but there a few episodes that (creator Greg Garcia) wanted to make, that I was excited about making. Just to close it out. Is this guy stuck making amends for the rest of his life?"

Patricia Arquette's show Medium was axed at the same time as My Name is Earl, but has since been picked up by rival network CBS.

Medium Axed And Then Saved

23 May 2009 7:15 AM, PDT | From wenn.com | See recent WENN news

Patricia Arquette's Us T.V. show Medium has been cancelled and saved all in the space of 24 hours.

Just a day after NBC announced it was dropping the drama series - along with comedy My Name is Earl - rival network CBS has picked it up and announced plans to unveil a new season in the autumn.

CBS bosses reacted passionately after NBC entertainment chief Ben Silverman announced the axing on Thursday claiming Medium had received not "a single fan letter" of support.

A CBS spokesperson responded: "NBC's cancellation of Medium is inexplicable to us. The ratings don't lie: Medium outperforms many of NBC's renewed shows.

"Despite inconsistent scheduling, Medium - under the creative vision of (creator) Glenn Gordon Caron, one of the most preeminent producers in television - has always performed with distinction both creatively and commercially. Multiple award-winning actress Patricia Arquette and the cast have delivered a stellar series for five consistent seasons. The awards and ratings speak for themselves."

Arquette has played spirit communicator Allison Dubois in Medium since the show first aired in 2005.

In a formal presentation held on Wednesday, May 20, CBS announced its official Fall 2009 schedule. Among the highlighted ones are the pick-up of "Medium" which has been snubbed by NBC and the go-ahead on "NCIS: Naval Criminal Investigative Service" spin-off which is titled "NCIS: Los Angeles".

CBS Studios which is behind "Medium" previously criticized NBC for canceling the show starring Patricia Arquette. "NBC's cancellation of 'Medium' is inexplicable to us," the statement said. It will be put on Fridays, sandwiched by "Ghost Whisperer" and "Numb3rs".

2009 Upfronts: CBS

20 May 2009 10:25 AM, PDT | From CinemaSpy | See recent CinemaSpy news

In New York this morning, CBS released its schedule to advertisers. CBS had less work to do with its Fall 2009 schedule. And, comfortable atop the ratings, the Eye didn’t mess around with what wasn’t broken.

The big news was that the network has picked up Medium, which was cancelled by NBC just yesterday. Produced by sister company CBC Television Studios, it was a simple decision for the broadcast network to pick up the supernatural series that stars Patricia Arquette.

As expected, and as is logical, Medium will be paired with the thematically-similar Ghost Whisperer on Friday nights.

Other than that, CBS’s fall schedule is largely business as usual, anchored by sitcoms and procedurals.

The only new comedy, Accidentally on Purpose brings Jenna Elfman back to your television as a movie critic who gets pregnant. Accidentally, of course. It will air in the Monday comedy block between How I Met Your Mother

Medium: CBS and NBC Feud Over Show's Cancellation

20 May 2009 9:31 AM, PDT | From TVSeriesFinale.com | See recent TVSeriesFinale news

Fans aren't the only ones who were upset to hear that NBC had cancelled Medium. CBS Television Studios, the company that produces the Patricia Arquett drama was not pleased either. While the studios and networks tend to play nice in public, this time the gloves have come off.

In a conference call with reporters, Ben Silverman, co-chairman of NBC Entertainment and Universal Media Studios, praised the fan efforts to renew Chuck and slammed shows like Medium and My Name Is Earl for being devoid of fan support.

Just hours later, CBS issued a statement that said, "NBC's cancellation of Medium is inexplicable to us. The ratings don't lie. Medium outperforms many of NBC's renewed shows."

It continues, "Despite inconsistent scheduling, Medium, under the creative vision of Glenn Gordon Caron, one of the most preeminent producers in television, has always performed with distinction both creatively and commercially. Multiple-award-winning actress Patricia Arquette

CBS Renews ‘Cold Case,’ Picks Up ‘Medium,’ Cancels ‘Without a Trace’

20 May 2009 7:55 AM, PDT | From HollywoodChicago.com | See recent HollywoodChicago.com news

Chicago – In a relatively shocking announcement as a part of fall schedule upfronts this week, CBS actually pulled the trigger on “Without a Trace,” a show that had reportedly gotten too expensive for the network. There were rumors that they may do the same with “Cold Case,” but that show will return with on-the-bubble shows “The New Adventures of Old Christine” and “Rules of Engagement” also being miraculously renewed and “Medium” being saved.

This Fall CBS adds the popular drama series Medium, starring Patricia Arquette, Fridays (9:00-10:00 Pm, Et/Pt), forming a hauntingly compatible two-hour block with Ghost Whisperer at 8:00 Pm.
