Miller recently signed Alan Rickman to play Kristal, who helped launch alternative bands like the Talking Heads, Blondie, the Ramones and the Patti Smith Group. Music fans remained anxious about casting of the punk icons who performed at Cbgb’s and Variety reported today that Malin Akerman, last seen opposite Jennifer Aniston and Paul Rudd in the comedy Wanderlust, joined the film as Blondie lead singer Debbie Harry. »

John Mayer is back! Though he is sporting a long hairdo these days, the musician has been missed ever since leaving the spotlight for a while there after some dreadful (yet memorable!) interviews. On Bravo Wednesday night the "Shadow Days" singer sat down for Andy Cohen's Watch What Happens Live show and didn't hold back. During his visit he got asked one particular question about some of his famous exes.
Like, how would he organize the Fuck, Kill or Marry game between Taylor Swift, Jennifer Aniston and Jessica Simpson? Pause. (Though we could totally guess what he was thinking.) "I think you probably--Oh, plead the fifth!" he answered.
Lame. He couldn't believe that a question so hard like that was the first but based on the game rules, he could plead the fifth on one question and that he did.
Our guess? Jessica fuck, Jennifer marry and Taylor kill. »

One of the reasons I started my website, is that I wanted a place for women to come together and dream. Women should know that they don't have to hang on to an old dream that has stopped nurturing them -- that there is always time to start a new dream. This week's story is about a waitress who believed in her dream, took a leap of faith and found her place in Hollywood. -– Marlo, MarloThomas.com

From the age of 15, Renee Claire was waiting tables to earn extra cash. At the time, it was a way to make ends meet and pay for college. But as she made her way from Amherstburg, Ontario to Los Angeles, those serving skills came in handy. Waitressing at celebrity hot spots allowed Renee to work evenings and bring in great tips, while she explored the endless possibilities Los Angeles had to offer. »

Or, why American men hate Brad Pitt, especially if they say they don’t.
This month marks the 66th anniversary of the running of the cinematic bulls that is the Cannes Film Festival. It is a near two-week period in which highly anticipated, awards-season projects start to get positioned for their run into the holiday movie season, and at the same time, a period in which smaller, dark horse projects jockey for distributorship and buzz at the feet of showbiz tastemakers.
It is also, regrettably, another week in which Brad Pitt gets to be treated like Brad Pitt.
And that’s really saying something without really saying anything at all. It isn’t really accurate to say that Brad Pitt gets treated like royalty (not even Saudi royalty), because there isn’t a Prince or King left on the planet that is simultaneously as rich and good-looking and genuinely admired as Brad Pitt is. »

Brad Pitt says being engaged to Angelina Jolie ''makes sense''. The 'Killing Them Softly' star proposed to his girlfriend - with whom he raises six children - earlier this year but insists they have not yet set a wedding date as they are hoping to stand by their previous pledge not to tie the knot until gay marriage is legal. He said: ''We actually, really and truly, have no date. ''It's just something that makes sense to us, and certainly date-wise, it's just a rumour. We're still hoping that we can figure out marriage equality in the states before that date.'' Brad - who met Angelina on the set of 'Mr. and Mrs. Smith' in 2005 while still married to Jennifer Aniston - also revealed the couple are keen to work together again. Asked if they would consider making a film together again during a press »

It's been a little over a month since the world's most famous couple, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie, announced their engagement to the world, so naturally everyone is wondering when they will finally walk down the aisle. However, Pitt put any wedding date rumors to rest at a press conference at the Cannes International Film Festival this week.
"We actually, really and truly, have no date ... It's just something that makes sense to us, and certainly date-wise, it's just a rumor ... We're still hoping that we can figure out marriage equality in the states before that date."
Pitt is in France promoting his new film, "Killing Them Softly," and his comments make sense, considering the couple's previous decision to hold off on tying the knot until gay marriage was legal throughout the U.S. When they announced their engagement in April -- after years of rumors -- a rep for »

John Mayer regrets describing Jessica Simpson as ''sexual napalm''. The singer-and-songwriter dated the blonde beauty for nine months between 2006 and 2007 and in 2010 gave an interview describing what Jessica was like in bed. However, he now says he regrets the comments but he admits he did it to make himself look more exciting. The 34-year-old star - who has previously dated Jennifer Aniston and Cameron Diaz - told TV show 'All Things Considered': ''I had nothing to say. I was going through a time in my life where I didn't really want to share what was going on, but I didn't want to be boring.'' ''When you're just open, but not honest, then you start free-associating garbage. It doesn't mean I can go back and scrub it out, but I understand it now.'' During the interview for Playboy magazine, John said of Jessica: ''Yeah, that girl is like crack cocaine to me. »

Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux were side by side as they returned to their car following dinner at the Mexican spot Marix in La yesterday. Jennifer wore a fitted skirt and tank for the date night, which comes after her new SmartWater ads were released last week. Aside from the fresh photos, Jennifer's been lying low since the February release of Wanderlust. She has been busy with real estate, though, and sold her West Village apartments last month just a year after purchasing them. Instead, she and Justin have moved into a Beverly Hills rental while their Bel Air mansion is undergoing renovations. Jennifer bought the $21 million estate in January and is reportedly spending thousands more on fixtures and furniture. View Slideshow › »

After mightily impressing in the likes of “Atonement,” “The Lovely Bones” and more recently “Hanna,” Saoirse Ronan (a name almost impossible to type correctly on a first attempt) looks to have a very exciting career ahead of her. She’ll star in Neil Jordan’s “Byzantium” later this year and has “The Host” and Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah” among the more notable releases on her upcoming slate. And we can now add another film to that list, in the form of a David Heyman-produced adaptation of a Vera Brittain memoir.
We’re assuming that said memoir will be “Testament of Youth,” which was published in 1993 and recounted Brittain’s experiences during World War I and the beginning of her journey towards pacifism. Brittain was famed for her writing on pacifism and feminism, so expect those to be strong themes in the film. Although it’s not explicitly stated in THR’s story, »

After starring in my favorite film of the 2012 Sundance Film Festival, Safety Not Guaranteed, Mark Duplass is sticking with the mesh of the two genres for another indie film, and he's bringing some big names with him. Variety reports Duplass will be joined by Ben Kingsley and maybe Jennifer Aniston in Convention, yet another film with a time travel sort of plot. The film apparently sees Duplass playing an inventor who unveils his latest creation: the five-sided box. The mysterious new design seems perfect, until the inventor learns that each time he creates its special fold, he rips a hole in the space-time continuum. And so, it's up to the inventor and his sister to try and piece the universe back together and save the world. This is exactly the kind of film I like seeing come together as an indie. It forces so much more creativity without a big »

Mark Duplass has had busy couple of years, directing and writing three films with his brother, and starring in a number of projects including the raunchy FX comedy, “The League,” and in the upcoming sci-fi tinged indie dramedy “Safety Not Guaranteed” with Aubrey Plaza. He’s following up that role with one in another indie film with a sci-fi element, “Convention,” and he’s going to be acting opposite some pretty big names.
Duplass will be playing an inventor who unveils his latest creation at a national box convention: the five-sided box. The mysterious new design initially seems perfect, until Duplass’ inventor learns that each time its special fold is created, he rips a hole in the space-time continuum. It’s up to him and his sister to put things back together and save the role. Jennifer Aniston is circling the sister role and Ben Kingsley is officially signed up »
