[Editor’s Note: The following contains spoilers from Season 3 of “Catastrophe.”]
Before her death in December, Carrie Fisher had already been recognized by the Television Academy via two previous Emmy nominations. But those nods – one in 2008, as a guest actress on “30 Rock,” and the other in 2011 for her special “Wishful Drinking” – ultimately didn’t translate to a win. Now, there’s a really good chance TV Academy voters will be moved to pay tribute to the beloved actress with an overdue posthumous statue.
While she appears on the big screen in the upcoming “Star Wars: The Last Jedi,” Fisher made her final TV appearance on the Amazon comedy “Catastrophe,” which recently released its third season. Fisher portrays Mia, the rather obnoxious mother of Rob (Rob Delaney), an American man who moved to London to marry his one-week fling Sharon (Sharon Horgan) after she became pregnant.

Jessica Chastain will play screen icon Ingrid Bergman in “Seducing Ingrid Bergman,” Variety has confirmed. She will produce, as well star as the Oscar-winning Swedish actress in the upcoming period piece.
The film centers on Bergman’s romance with Robert Capa, a photo journalist famed for his images of combat. The picture is set in the aftermath of World War II and extends to the dawn of the McCarthy hearings into communist subversion. No director has been attached, but Arash Amel (“Grace of Monaco”) wrote the screenplay.
Yrf Entertainment is producing and brokered the deal with Freckle Films. Yrf head Uday Chopra will produce alongside Chastain and Amel. There is currently no release date for “Seducing Ingrid Bergman” scheduled.

Director Kenneth Branagh and the starry cast of his new version of “Murder On the Orient Express” gathered in London on Friday to show off new footage from the upcoming adaptation of Agatha Christie’s classic whodunit. Almost the entire ensemble cast, which includes Oscar winners Judi Dench and Penelope Cruz, “Star Wars” actress Daisy Ridley, BAFTA winner Olivia Colman and Tony winner Josh Gad, was on hand, with only Johnny Depp and Michelle Pfeiffer notable absentees.
They were later followed onstage by director Francis Lawrence who introduced 18 minutes of footage from his upcoming spy thriller “Red Sparrow,” starring Jennifer Lawrence, which is currently shooting in London.
Branagh, who plays Belgian detective Hercule Poirot, introduced about 10 to 15 minutes of work-in-progress footage from the Fox film, saying: “This is the very first time any of this footage has been seen in this way. We’re very excited to share the promise and potential of this work. »

As you can see from the photos below, the costume and production design is vast and quaint with the hair and makeup team working overtime to re-create the look of the classic murder-mystery novel for the new film. This time the tale is directed by Kenneth Branagh (Thor, Cinderella) and produced by Ridley Scott (Alien: Covenant) and Simon Kinberg (The Martian).

Andrei Tarkovsky‘s long-rumored sci-fi masterpiece Stalker will arrive with a new 2K restoration. Also arriving in July is Albert Brooks‘ satirical comedy Lost in America, featuring a new conversation with the director and Robert Weide, as well as interviews with the cast and crew.

Recently, Ben Wheatley, the director of the shoot-off thriller Free Fire, described the role of film posters in relation to the ‘whole package’ of cinema (i.e. from the film itself to its marketing strategy) and how this has changed in the digital age. Entertainment Weekly recently made its (multiple) cover story the return of the TV show Twin Peaks. I don’t know if that’s a good thing, or even if I want to watch it. This is surprising to me since I was a big fan for most of the show’s run.

Among the few genre films to vie for a Premio Mezcal for best Mexican movie, Guadalajara Int’l Film Fest official competition entry “Veronica” premieres March 15 at the festival with Mexican co-directors Carlos Algara and Alejandro Martinez and cast on hand.
