The Buzz: Ever wondered if Gore Verbinski's Wild West filmmaking style is a little more calculated than the stories of his project's astronomical budgets and out-of-control production spending would have you believe? Not that we mind one bit, especially when Johnny Depp is involved; we're more certain we'll be entertained by this duo than Depp's formerly unbeatable union with Tim Burton. So bring on their version of John Reid's folkloric origins.

Certificate PG   -   Animation | Comedy | Crime | Family

Metascore: 58/100 (10 reviews)
Gru is recruited by the Anti-Villain League to help deal with a powerful new super criminal.
Watch Trailer

The Buzz: Gru returns for a sequel to his runaway worldwide hit and even the Minions have their own Puss in Boots-style spin-off movie slated for 2014 as Illumination Entertainment (the production company behind this budding franchise as well as The Lorax) has become Universal's most reliable entity. Scoring Al Pacino to voice Gru's foe was something to look forward to, but something went down behind the scenes and Benjamin Bratt was brought in to replace him.

Certificate R   -   Documentary | Comedy

Filmed at a sold-out performance at Madison Square Garden, comedian Kevin Hart delivers material from his 2012 "Let Me Explain" concert tour.

The Buzz: Cash-rich from his globe-spanning 2012 tour, Kevin Hart returns to the box office with another in-concert performance documentary which should prove that Laugh at My Pain was no fluke success.

14-year-old Duncan's summer vacation with his mother, her overbearing boyfriend, and his daughter. Having a rough time fitting in, Duncan finds an unexpected friend in Owen, manager of the Water Wizz water park.

The Buzz: After winning a Best Adapted Screenplay Oscar last year for The Descendants, Nat Faxon and Jim Rash quickly got started on this project, their co-directorial debut. The resulting star-studded comedy - which includes Steve Carell playing a major jerk - was a serious crowd-pleaser at the 2013 Sundance Film Festival, and Fox Searchlight quickly acquired the movie for a ridiculous $10 million. They are clearly hoping it's going to be another Little Miss Sunshine, though that's easier said than done.

Metascore: 60/100 (8 reviews)
The life of Paul Raymond, the controversial entrepreneur who became Britain's richest man.
Watch Trailer

The Buzz: Michael Winterbottom and Steve Coogan currently are filming an Italy-set sequel to The Trip, and, though this story might have more niche appeal than their previous collaborations, Coogan has earned praise for the unexpected dramatic tones in his performance.

Certificate R   -   Action

A young man transforms into a brutal warrior as he travels the unforgiving landscape in search of his long lost brother, Hakan the Ferrocious, whose people are relying on him to restore order to their kingdom.

The Buzz: At-home audiences hungry for more Vikings-like epic brutality should feast upon this Ultra VOD release from TV director Farren Blackburn and starring Twilight vet Charlie Bewley.

Certificate R   -   Drama

Two women get on the highway heading to Santa Fe. Marilyn dreams of winning a contest held by a famous belly dancing company, while her friend, Mona, has a secret: she's a fugitive from justice - accused of her mother-in-law's death.

The Buzz: Rachid Bouchareb has been up for the Best Foreign Language Oscar twice with his films Days of Glory and Hors la loi, but his latest is a contemporary American drama that appears to be one part immigrant saga, one part female-powered road trip. Sienna Miller has enjoyed some recent highs and has a couple promising roles ahead of her. We're a bit more intrigued by her co-star, Golshifteh Farahani, who was seen recently in Poulet aux prunes and co-stars in The Patience Stone later this summer.
