- DirectorNobuharu KamanakaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaA young woman, Katsumi Liqueur gets invited by police chief Rally Cheyenne to the area of Tokyo on a promise of giving her information about her late mother. But what she doesn't know is that she gets enlisted to the AMP to fight the Lucifer Hawk.6/10 - Serviceable but generic introduction to the show. This is the only episode to be fully animated on "video" and as such it looks sterile though sharp and vibrant. The most enjoyable part is the soundtrack, which can be understated -especially during the actions scenes- but creates a unique mood.
- DirectorKunitoshi OkajimaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaA Lucifer Hawk breaks through the AMP gate to try to give Katsumi information on her father. Also, The Lucifer Hawks have broken through into the city.6/10 - More of the same with 50% of the animation is done on film. This results in awkward editing and inconsitent colors and character design. Cutting back and forth does no favor to either format: the video looks like a video game cutscene and the film looks cheap and blurry. The show's overall lack of "budget" for the visuals makes some of the action unreadable.
- DirectorKen AndôHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaRobert gives Katsumi some police training to try to defeat the Lucifer Hawk.7/10 - This episode has a bit more heart and the new character of Roy is likeable. The process for editing the film footage hasn't been mastered yet, and with every cut the image jumps around. Thankfully, they will have figured out how to do it by episode 6.
- DirectorHideaki ÔbaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKatsumi tries to defeat a Category 2 Lucifer Hawk by herself which gets her in trouble with Rally Cheyenne.5/10 - This plot seems to come out of nowhere, with Katsumi not behaving like this anywhere else in the show. A slog.
- DirectorMasato SatôHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaYuki Saiko decides to throw a fun party for everyone.7/10 - Very silly episode with a light-hearted premise. Some time is spent with all the characters and highlighting their relationships.
- DirectorYukina HiiroHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKiddy Phenyl recalls her memories of almost being killed by a Megadyne cyborg named Wire.7/10 - The first of 5 "character-focused" episodes introducing the team members. This one was set up in the previous episode and focuses on the feisty Kiddy. It's very solid and the animators attempt more stylish visuals (it's only black and white but it's a start). Most of the animation is now on film, with the occasional (jarring) use of video for some shots or special effects.
- DirectorToshimasa SuzukiHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaNami Yamigumo goes back to her Japanese Shinto temple to meet with her grandfather.7/10 - A second character episode, focused of the quiet Nami. Another simple story for a simple character. The animators also introduce some changes to the characters' designs that endure for the following episodes.
- DirectorShigeharu TakahashiHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKatsumi tries to defeat a Category 1 Lucifer Hawk by herself without the other team members but it causes her to lose her dagger.6/10 - Back to the (plain) story of Katsumi.
- DirectorShinji SakaiHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKatsumi's apartment has been damaged by the battles with the Lucifer Hawks, so she decides to stay with the other AMP members.8/10 - Serves Katsumi's "character episode", and the first where she makes an impression outside of her cute scenes with Roy. This is fairly cheesy, with the dated soundtrack and Kia Asamiya's retro fetishism, but likeable.
- DirectorYoshihide KuriyamaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaYuki hears the bad news that her two friends from her childhood were killed and this awakens her past memories.7/10 - Yuki's time in the spotlight. This is again a well-rounded backstory-driven plot but gets over-dramatic considering the quality of the production.
- 199824mNot Rated7.0 (5)TV EpisodeDirectorKunitoshi OkajimaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaThe computer networks have been hacked in Tokyo by somebody that has been using a image of a Cheshire cat and the city is now at a stand still, The AMP team try to find the hacker.7/10 - Completely at odds with the previous and next episodes in terms of tone, this is a nonsensical hommage to Alice in Wonderland and Tron (as is often found in Kia Asamiya's work) and serves as Lebia's showcase. There is as much depth here as there is in her character, and the animation's shortcomings really let an otherwise entertaining episode down.
- DirectorHideaki ÔbaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaGanossa Maximilian and Rosa Cheyenne make a plan to take over the human world, and Rosa comes to Rally to kill her.5/10 - Very poorly handled transition to a more "serious" tone. Given the production and writing, it's very hard to take seriously. Maybe a different ordering of the episodes could have set this up better. As presented, nothing with Rally and Rosa really works.
- DirectorShirô KochiyaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaIt has been six months since Katsumi has left the AMP team and is now living with Roy De Vice. The board team has now acknowledged the Lucifer Hawks's extra terrestrials, but Roy does not know that Nemisis blood is coursing though Katsumi's veins.8/10 - A surprisingly engaging follow-up to the overly dramatic and lame previous episode. Despite some tired narrative tropes and framing, the story and ideas here are more artfully presented and manage to reignite interest in the main story. The fact that there is uniformity in the episode's look helps: there is no "video" shots or effects, and the animators lean into the gothic flair of the show.
- DirectorSenhô YoshiokaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaRally tells Katsumi the story of the Silent Crisis and what Katsumi's father wanted to achieve with Project Gaia.7/10 - Overstuffed backstory to the show's premise, and really cheap animation which is inconsistent in how faithful it wants to be to Asamiya's artwork, this is nonetheless a worthy sequel to the previous episode.
- DirectorYukina HiiroHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaThe AMP gets a new member, a Chinese girl named Lum Cheng.7/10 - [The DVD copy of this episode was low quality.] A solid re-introduction to the show, as 3 years have passed since the first half of the series. The visuals are still inconsistent in style, and the story -which revolves around the new character, Lum- does not really have a satisfying conclusion.
- DirectorKunitoshi OkajimaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaYuki goes to an antique shop because she wants to purchase a coffee grinder, but she finds out that the owner is a Lucifer Hawk. During their fight, Yuki and the Lucifer Hawk go thirty years to the past of pre-apocalyptic Tokyo. When she awakens she finds been taken care of by a young man named Toru Washio. She teaches him how to make coffee.8/10 - [The DVD copy of this episode was low quality.] Another "cheesy" masterpiece, with no less than 3 pop songs montages. A very cute and by-the-numbers story, fitting Yuki's character better than her first episode as the lead. The art style is much more cartoony, and while it might be a subtle reflection of the story's unusual setting, it may simply be the show's lack of visual identity striking again.
- DirectorYoshihide KuriyamaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKiddy Phenyl has been charge with a murder of that is based on circumstantial evidence and gets arrested while on the chase of a magadyne tat happens to be the real culprit. Her boyfriend Ralph knows that she is innocent.6/10 What should be a classic sci-fi noir story, with sufficient character motivation and stakes is horribly let down by terribly awkward animation. The transitions between video and film footage are a bit smoother than usual, but it's only because the standards were dropped for both.
- DirectorKunitoshi OkajimaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaThe Mobile Police Division does an investigation that only has a single survivor, a young girl. Also Ralph and Roy find that a drug is being distributed by their superiors called Domull which can turn humans into monsters.7/10 A good story for Roy's character even if his relationship with Katsumi lacks fleshing out for it to be completely engaging. Features some unusually intense "horror" scenes as well (for this show).
- DirectorSusumu KudôHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaLum Cheng decides to take Katsumi on a drive to seaside to brighten her day. But when they get there, they find the rest of the AMP team there already.7/10 Two half episodes stuck together. The first half is a cute road trip between Lum and Katsumi whose conclusion is ultimately undone by the second half. Said second half is the setup for the follow-up episode, which does pay off. Episodes 18 through 20 should probably have been reworked into two episodes by streamlining the arcs of Roy and Katsumi.
- DirectorToshimasa SuzukiHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaThe AMP rescues Roy from the evil Lucifer hawk and Rosa has attacked Rally back at the AMP headquarters. Ganossa kidnaps Katsumi and holds her hostage in a test that will make Roy show how much he truly loves her.6/10 Unexpectedly intense and dark conclusion to the 2nd third of the show. It doesn't really work because of the underdeveloped villains and muddled character motivations.
- 199824mNot RatedTV EpisodeDirectorHideaki ÔbaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKiddy has organized a reunion party at a cafe and Katsumi decides to go to it.7/10 Some unclear character motivations given the episode's "twist ending", emotionally engaging nonetheless.
- DirectorKunitoshi OkajimaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaRally wants Mana to increase the security protection around the Avalance files because they contain data on Project Gaia.7/10 A bit more of the same but a good ramp up to the show's last act.
- DirectorHiroyuki KurimotoHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKatsumi has revealed herself to be a traitor and the AMP might be disbanded and Yuki can't seem to control her powers.6/10 The Rally and Rosa show part one, with some drama related to the dissolution of the AMP. These characters have never been introduced in a thorough and engaging manner, leaning on tired tropes and heavy-handed dialog.
- DirectorYoshihide KuriyamaHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaGanossa has invited Rally to meet him alone at the Tokyo Stadium to which she agrees even though she thinks it's a trap. She gets caught in a spell by Nami who is under the control of Ganossa.6/10 The Rally and Rosa show part two, now with some resolution.
- DirectorSusumu KudôHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaKatsumi is now possessed by the Medium and wants to take control of the AMP and she attacks her former team members.7/10 The de facto climax of the show, a tale of friendship and sacrifice overcoming adversity. It is suitably intense and cutesy. There has been an unusual focus on Mana's character, whose backstory and purpose in the plot should have been introduced much earlier to have any impact on the viewer.
- DirectorToshimasa SuzukiHideki TonokatsuStarsNaoko MatsuiHiromi TsuruChieko HondaIt has been a week since the AMP building was destroyed and the Tokyo Administration has publicly announced the existence of the Lucifer Hawk. The AMP members are in the hospital. The Tokyo Administration is requiring the evacuation of the entire Tokyo population in case theirs future Lucifer Hawk attacks.7/10 Underwhelming as a final episode, this is an abrupt ending where the show's conclusion is recounted through flashbacks. Still, while this seems to be a recurring theme with Asamaya's adaptations, it does not take away from its quaint charms.
