- CreatorJhonen VasquezStarsAndy BermanRichard Steven HorvitzRikki SimonsAn alien named Zim from the planet Irk is sent on a secret mission to conquer Earth, not realising that his leaders were just trying to get rid of him and hoped that he would die. Once there, Zim manages to disguise himself as a human child, but one boy named Dib sees through his disguise.Oh, this show... One of the prime examples of "Quality By Popular Vote"/"Ad Populum Fallacy", because the voice of the people is the voice of God... (le sigh)
Now, where do I have seen this kind of hyping before ? Rise of The Robots ? Daikatana ? Waterworld ? Halo 3 ? Nah, I think it's just my imagination. It's not like I'm gonna have a "Hype Backlash" from it, you know...
It's nothing but a "dark and edgy" version of Spongebob, only with aliens and human beings instead of fishes and other stuff.
Where do I start with this one ? Let me see...
- Atrocious presentation and design: Seriously, what this show is supposed to be aimed to ? Adults, teenagers, children ? The initial perception is that this show will be a complete trainwreck.
And guess what ? It was a complete trainwreck! Mostly because of the repulsive and half-assed design.
They say "don't judge a book by its cover", which's not the case here, because the art really set the tone of how much this show won't live to the hype.
- Unlikeable and unrelatable characters: Including a Mary-Sue in disguise called "Gaz" (as in Gazlene, which's a play with the word "gasoline". Maybe a reference to her powers ? If so, that was subtle, Mr.Vazquez, hardy har har). To quote my small review in dA with some modifications and details added:
"She knows everything about the Irken technology ( How? Does she at least was EVEN in the Irk planet for a day or two ? If so, when this happened ? How she went there: by using a spaceship lend by a supposed alien friend she knows about ? Or did she create one by herself ? Magic ? Or something other way ? How Dib and his father doesn't have a clue about it ? Wouldn't they notice her absence ? If she managed to go to Irk, how she did so without them noticing her ? And how she did not get captured or even killed by the Irkens for infiltrating their planet ? Or does she has informants ? And this plothole goes on and on... ), is immune to hypnotism (another plothole...) which adds to her "arsenal" of unknown, unexplained and random powers, everything goes exactly according to her plans and/or works to her favor without her suffering any penalization whatsoever and/or being scolded by someone, she apparently has no flaws whatsoever and, accordingly to "Game Slave 2"/"Mopiness of Doom", she can even control weather and interfere in the harmony of the planet... Say what ?"
Oh, did I mention that she has purple hair and her clothes are colored in black and purple ? And that even though she's an anti-social, jerkass girl, nobody calls her on her behavior ? Uh-oh...
It's hard to you to push sides with many of these characters, due to them simply being horrible, mean-spirited characters for the sake of it, being complete insane or even being brainless, stupid wastes of oxygen, making you wish that they die horrible deaths or be "put on a bus". More likely, "put on a spaceship and hope it crashes on a planet infested by a Zerg swarm".
- Almost non-existent character development - Mostly of these characters are 1 or 2 dimensional at best. Major props to the main character, who never learns from his mistakes/failures. It doesn't help that he's a "Tykebomb" (just like the other Irken characters), a character who was literally born and bred to serve the Irken Empire until his death, and that, without it, he'd just be a "cyborg" without any purpose in life.
- The only good, and I mean, 100% good episodes, from beginning to end were included in the new season which got cancelled, like "The Trial", where Zim apparently seems to have latent psychic powers. The released ones ranged from "completely awful" to "ok". Not to mention boring and insipid at best.
The most interesting parts were the subplots, really (like the so called "Resisty" against the Irken Empire). They should've made episodes with these stuff alone and ditch the main storyline all together. That would make the show more watchable.
Overall, this show really missed the mark for me. I'm sorry but...this show sucks. And it's ironic how some of the art and stories done by fans are CENTURIES better than this atrocious show. - CreatorAli LeRoiChris RockStarsTerry CrewsTichina ArnoldTequan RichmondA young African-American teen attempts to survive with his dysfunctional family and his all-white school in the 1980s.His mom is a jerkass and child abuser, his father is a dumbass, his brother and sister are just out of context of everything that's going on and the main character is too stupid to live. - DirectorVictor-Hugo BorgesStarsCharles EmmanuelIsabela GuascoRodrigo AntasIt's basically a Brazilian "clone" of "Invader Zim", and it sucks as well, where instead of aliens, they play around with folkloric stories, creepy urban legends and some myths, like Cthulu, Cupid and the Grim Reaper (and thankfully they didn't had the balls to put Slenderman in there).
As to quote Nostalgia Critic: "You know, for kids."

Honestly, this show feels like it was made by Patrick Bateman (American Psycho). In fact, I think this show was made all by "psychopaths", as if murder and gross violence = fun and laughs.
