The greatest popular music programme?
Programmes dedicated to modern music, with an emphasis on ones from the English speaking world (i.e. U.S., U.K., Australia, New Zealand).
IMDB does not have a match for all the titles that I wanted, so maybe your favourite show isn't here because of that.
Which one is/was your "go to" programme?
[This List is based on a poll I withdrew from the Polls section...it's hard getting a poll up which doesn't have "The dark knight" as an option!]

Again, I think that this show didn't have music as a central element and I'm not sure if the music was contemporary...definitely had a focus on more hard rock acts, if I recall. Midnight Oil's drummer Rob Hirst did the title music for this and there is a You Tube of him performing it for the show's opening credits. - StarsIan 'Molly' MeldrumDebra ByrneStevie WrightCountdown was a long-running popular weekly Australian music television show broadcast by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation from 8 November 1974 until 19 July 1987.1974 - 1987.

In most viewing areas "In Concert" competed with the first half hour of NBC TVs later Friday Night rock entry "Midnight Special". For American, British and other international versions of this show see the Wikipedia entry for that title. - StarsLee SimonPeter GraceIvan HutchinsonNightmoves was an Australian weekly late-night popular music series, hosted by Melbourne rock DJ Lee Simon. The program featured music videos from around the world, studio and location interviews with local and touring acts, and film reviews by noted Melbourne critic Ivan Hutchison. In later years the series presented a number of hour-long in-concert specials featuring leading Australasian acts such as Jo Jo Zep & The Falcons, and Split.Enz, and a number of these were recorded in stereo and simulcast in FM stereo on local rock stations in each capital ciry. The original series theme was Bob Seger's eponymous song, but this was later replaced by an excerpt from Steely Dan's "Parker's Band". The series was produced and broadcast from the studios of Channel 7 in Melbourne, and was shown on most Seven Network stations. Sadly, although the series.chronicled one of the most vibrant periods in Australian rock, much of the series was broadcast live, and few if any master tapes have survived. A DVD compilation of the series was issued in the 2000s, but this was largely sourced from surviving domestic off-air VHS recordings of the show.1977 - 1986.

The mother of his son refuses to send him their son for the holidays unless he can offer him a real vacation, not just going to bars of the French port city of Le Havre. As the jobless Didier has no money, the only way he can see his son is by winning a dance contest organized by his friend Jackson (Gérard Depardieu), with the prize a vacation to Australia for two. Didier persuades his two former dancing buddies (Samuel Le Bihan and Abbes Zahmani) to get the once-famous "Bee Kings" group back on the dancefloor. Years have passed and they need a dance coach (Emmanuelle Béart) to get them ready for the competition. They soon find out that even if they once were the best, times have changed. Jobs, wives, love, ridiculous looks, old-fashioned clothes, talented contestants... Can they reclaim their past disco glory?"No disco" (no IMDB listing, unfortunately)

This looked an excellent programme. "Rage" broadcast an old episode of this show which I've been informed was based out of Adelaide. The episode I saw a bit of had Australian punk pioneers Radio Birdman being interviewed as well as performing some songs. The show also actually made a music video for a Richard Hell song, I believe. If that episode was typical, a box set wouldn't be out of the question for me...if they made it! - StarsRobert SmithSiouxsie SiouxBudgieShazam! rode the 1980s music video boom created by the advent of MTV and the renaissance in NZ music. Aimed at a younger audience than Radio with Pictures, it played in a late afternoon, weekday time slot, and featured artist interviews and live concerts as well as sponsoring a Battle of the Bands and a music video competition. Presenters were Phillip Schofield, Phillipa Dann and, finally, Michelle Bracey.1982 - 1987
