Gandalf and Aragorn lead the World of Men against Sauron's army to draw his gaze from Frodo and Sam as they approach Mount Doom with the One Ring.

I see the Lord of the Rings Trilogy as one big film, but I've listed The Return of the King first because it contains all the main themes that were introduced as each movie came out, in all their glorious splendour. The music was highly original, very enjoyable and matched the beautiful scenery perfectly. All the of the themes were very evocative of their respective characters/places, and will always remain memorable. In fact, if I had to pick my favourite bit about this trilogy (which is my favourite film series of all time), I think I would have to go with the music.

4. Halo (2001 Video Game)
M | Action, Adventure, Mystery
Super-soldier John-117, Master Chief of the United Nations Space Command, must battle a genocidal alien race known as the Covenant following his violent crash-landing on Halo, an ancient and mysterious ring-world.
Halo's music was just... incredible. The main theme is very epic and fits the idea of a great space battle with the fate of the galaxy at stake very well. The rest of the score ranges from driven and powerful to empty and piercing, conveying at different times the power of the Master Chief, the danger of the Covenant, the enormity of Halo, the vastness and loneliness of space or the absolute terror of the Flood.

Who can forget the great, sweeping orchestral themes of Jurassic Park? The music in this film perfectly matches the grandeur of the giant extinct reptiles, and the wonder of the idea of bringing them back to life.

Votes: 589,903 | Gross: $380.26M
The score for Revenge of the Sith, while still consisting of some typical Star Wars elements, had some great new stuff in there. It was grand, sweeping and tragic, perfectly conveying the catastrophes that befall both the galaxy as a whole, and Anakin and Obi-Wan personally. In fact, I almost shed a tear during the scene when the Jedi are being killed off, due almost entirely to the music.

It's Star Wars. It introduced one of the most memorable and exciting themes in the history of not just film music, but music as a whole. Not much else to say really. Star Wars rocks.

Votes: 1,277,548 | Gross: $448.14M
Deshi deshi basara, basara, deshi deshi basara, basara. Seriously, who wouldn't enjoy Bane's driven, rhythmic theme in this movie? It was perfect for building up the tension and conveying Bane's militaristic power. The main Dark Knight theme, made up of two long, epic brass notes over flying strings, also makes its return here from the previous movies. In addition, this movie contains some great vocal work, from the big chant to the haunting soprano vocals.
