Director: Mikael Håfström | Stars: John Cusack, Samuel L. Jackson, Mary McCormack, Paul Birchard

Votes: 230,486 | Gross: $71.99M

A well done ghost story with a great ending. There's not too many jump-out-of-your-seat scares, but placing yourself in the main character's shoes is scary enough.

Director: Michael Tiddes | Stars: Marlon Wayans, Essence Atkins, Marlene Forte, David Koechner

Votes: 38,027 | Gross: $40.04M

Okay, so this isn't a horror movie, but it's funny all the same. A lot of people didn't have good things to say about this movie; I think it is pretty hilarious. If you're into the mindless type of comedy, then this movie is definitely for you.

A babysitter finds a VHS tape which features various sinister murders performed by a psychotic clown.

Director: Damien Leone | Stars: Katie Maguire, Catherine A. Callahan, Marie Maser, Kayla Lian

Votes: 3,479

I'm deathly scared of clowns, so if the main villain was anything but a clown, it probably wouldn't be as good. There are 3 sub-stories wrapped into 1 big story. The 1st and 3rd story are quite good, but the 2nd one is quite terrible. You won't be missing out if you skip that one. I did get chills from the beginning of the 1st story though.

A wealthy New York investment banking executive, Patrick Bateman, hides his alternate psychopathic ego from his co-workers and friends as he delves deeper into his violent, hedonistic fantasies.

Director: Mary Harron | Stars: Christian Bale, Justin Theroux, Josh Lucas, Bill Sage

Votes: 400,582 | Gross: $15.07M

Christian Bale shines in this role. On the outside, he is a perfect version of a typical American yuppie; on the inside, he is a psychopath who is slowly losing his grip on reality. A great watch.

Director: Bob Clark | Stars: Olivia Hussey, Keir Dullea, Margot Kidder, John Saxon

Votes: 24,905 | Gross: $4.05M

The creep factor is very high in this movie. The fact that it takes place where you're supposed to feel the safest, makes it all the more creepier.

A thriller centered on a young woman and her autistic little brother who are trapped in a house with a ravenous tiger during a hurricane.

Director: Carlos Brooks | Stars: Briana Evigan, Charlie Tahan, Garret Dillahunt, Meat Loaf

Votes: 5,472

Usually, I find movies with killer animals on the cheesy side. But this movie is actually very good. The tiger is real, which is a huge plus, and the characters are trapped in a small house (it seems small with a huge tiger in it) with it. That could make anyone terrified.

A suburban town in Japan is the victim of what is supposedly just an urban legend, a woman's spirit with a horribly disfigured face who is intent on kidnapping children for unknown reasons.

Director: Kôji Shiraishi | Stars: Eriko Satô, Haruhiko Katô, Chiharu Kawai, Rie Kuwana

Votes: 2,130

Asian horror is definitely the best type of horror out there. If I was making an infinite list, I would probably put most of them on here. This is one of the scarier ones. The classic long, black haired ghost just doesn't get old. Add a clown-like smile to it, and you've got yourself a horror movie.

This is one of my top favorites. The feral children are so creepy...the way they walk, and the fact that you can't see their faces, just adds to it. I highly recommend this movie.

Finally, the children are evil! I love that this movie takes place on an island. So, you can't just get in a car and drive away. The kids are extremely psychotic in this movie, and they play it very well.

Europe has done it again...another awesome horror movie. This time it takes place in a subway station. The atmosphere of this makes for a great horror movie....dark, quiet, few humans around, and something hunting you...perfect!

Rob Zombie is a great writer and director. His horror movies are so twisted and deranged. To top it off, Sid Haig, Bill Moseley, and Sherri-Moon Zombie make great psychopaths.

The storyline is different from the original, but the movie is still great. The demons are so well done, it was a bit scary to watch on a big screen. A lot of blood, a lot of profanity, a lot of death...how can you go wrong?

I'm not really into werewolf movies, but this one is fantastic. It centers around a high school girl going through some extreme change, not only with puberty, but other things as well. The characters work very well together as a dysfunctional family.

An awesome footage movie. This one does the scares so well. It takes place in a dark, abandoned, and haunted mental hospital. The deaths in this movie are terrific, and there are plenty of jump-out-of-your-seat scares.

Another terrific Rob Zombie movie...a prequel to The Devil's Rejects. I think that this movie is a little more messed up. Every character who is a part of the deranged family, shines in their role.

A messed up and cringe worthy movie. A psychotic woman, who wants another woman's unborn baby. In the beginning part, before the psycho starts terrorizing, is super creepy. A definite nail biter.

The night scenes in this movie are the best. Molly's husband is usually working, so she is almost always by herself in a big farmhouse. That's a definite prelude to scary.

I like this one because it's different from the others. It doesn't take place in a rich neighborhood, or in a big house. I think that a dilapidated apartment with a creepy basement has a much scarier pretense than a big house....and it definitely does.

A superb underground cave monster movie. It's terrifying to think of being trapped in a dark cave with flesh-eating monsters.

A classic horror. Yes, the demons and deaths are pretty cheesy, but it's one of those movies that's always enjoyable to watch. No matter what decade you're in.

Director: Scott Derrickson | Stars: Laura Linney, Tom Wilkinson, Shohreh Aghdashloo, Campbell Scott

Terrific! The possession of Emily is so frightening. Jennifer Carpenter does an amazing job of being possessed; it was so believable. This movie mostly takes place in a courtroom, but the flashback story is put together so well.

Be careful who your prom date is! This one is twisted beyond words. The kinds of torture that goes on in this film is so depraved, you're guaranteed to be closing your eyes most of the time.

A creepy "skeletons in the closet" type of movie. The Pact has a good storyline and some jumpy scares. If you didn't enjoy most of the movie, you will definitely enjoy the ending.

A wealthy family are held hostage for harboring the target of a murderous syndicate during the Purge, a 12-hour period in which any and all crime is legal.

A unique storyline. It's scary to think that something like The Purge, where anything goes, could be possible. It's easy to sympathize with the characters because in this case, you're allowed to do anything to protect yourself.

Another one of my favorites. She seems to be the villain, but she is treated so poorly by her captors, that you're rooting for her in the end. And what an ending it is.

Australia did well with this one. The villain is hilarious, as well as deranged. A perfect mixture.

The ending for this movie wasn't really that great, but the rest of the movie is really good, so I had to include it. The deaths are really gory, and the setting is creepy.
