Feeling very confident, Dawn gives a superb performance, but is sadly shocked to learn that she hasn't even made it past the 1st round. As she struggles to cope with the situation, Jessilina is defeated by Nando, leaving Zoey and Nando battling in the finals, which Nando ultimately wins. Sharing feelings about their losses proves to cement Dawn and Zoey's friendship even further, and as they both marvel at Nando's ability to compete in both Pokémon Gym battles and Contests, the future begins to look much brighter for both of them, as the Pokémon Tag Battle is set to take place for Ash and Brock in a matter of days.

But our Heroes will have none if it, and they foil Team Rocket's caper in a televised battle. It's down to 3 finalists - Pikachu, Croagunk and a singing Chatot, who had won the previous year. And surprise of all surprises, who should win it who Croagunk, who had been dressed up as a Politoed throughout the whole event! We leave a very surprised Brock with the sought after Pokémon Egg, and him wondering, among other things, what the egg will eventually hatch into...

However, it turns out this pile of berries has been gathered by a group of very sad Pokémon headed up by a Golduck, who after discovering a trio of Ludicolo dancing near what's left of the berry pile, accuses the Ludicolo of steaking their berries, which of course they deny. This leads to infighting among the various Pokémon, which leads Team Rocket into fueling the fighting in hopes of stealing all the involved Pokémon. When Piplup stumbles upon the Golduck and the angry Pokémon, Piplup agrees to represent the Pokémon to the Ludicolo, demanding the stolen berries be returned to their rightful owners. But after some brave and fierce battling with Team Rocket and their arsenal of machines, it is discovered that Team Rocket had in fact stolen the berries, The Golduck and Ludicolo make amends, and in the process, Piplup perfects the very battle moves they had worked so hard on, signaling Dawn and Piplup's readiness for the upcoming Jubelife City Pokémon Contest!That Golduck from that Episode was so Annoying

Pretty Boring Episode - DirectorNorihiko SutôStarsSarah NatochennyMichele KnotzEmily BauerContinuing on their way through the Sinnoh region, our Heroes come across a budding trainer named Minnie and her Scizor. She explains that she's looking for a new Gym called the Powerzone Gym, which is reputed to take any losing Pokémon under their wing and 'train' them to become stronger. The Powerzone Gym is, in truth, a phony Gym run by Team Rocket to steal their losing opponents' Pokémon when they leave them at the Gym to be 'trained'. So when our Heroes show up looking to challenge the Gym, the thought of stealing Ash's Pikachu and Minnie's Scizor is too tempting to pass up. Jessie, disguised as Princess Powerzone, is battling with a Croagunk that had crossed paths with Meowth earlier, and after some bad calls by referee James, emerges victorious against both Minnie and Ash. They blow their cover as they attempt to escape with both Pikachu, Scizor and a host of stolen Pokeballs, but after a few choice attacks Team Rocket is defeated and the 2 Pokémon and all the Pokeballs are returned. Surprisingly, Croagunk remains behind as Team Rocket blasts off, and makes it known to Brock that it wants to join their journey. Minnie and Scizor go back to the fake Gym to return the stolen Pokeballs to their rightful owners, and without so much as one attack, Croagunk becomes Brock's newest Pokémon!a fake gym?

The Team Rocket trio attend in disguise, but James decides to compete in earnest, while Jessie and Meowth attempt to foil our heroes' efforts. When the competition comes to an end, the winners are none other than James and Mime Jr.! Nurse Joy overhears May talking about her Pokémon Contest ambitions and tells her there's a contest coming up right there on Potpourri Island. Of course, May can't wait to enter!

Tyson's Shiftry is ill-matched against Ash's Torkoal and its fiery attacks, but Tyson sends in Hariyama to beat the heat and defeat Torkoal. Corphish is next, but Hariyama defeats it too! At the halftime break, Morrison tries to give Ash a pep talk. When the match resumes, Swellow and Hariyama battle until Swellow is the victor. Swellow then goes on to beat Tyson's Donphan, but Tyson has a powerful Metagross waiting! Despite Swellow's determination, Metagross knocks it out--but Swellow did some damage, and Ash sends Grovyle out to hammer on that weak spot. Grovyle still can't stop Metagross but Pikachu finishes the job, so Tyson sends out the ace up his sleeve: his Meowth! Team Rocket's Meowth cheers its fellow Pokémon on from the stands. Tyson's Meowth can counter Pikachu's Thunderbolt with one of its own, so the battle comes down to Iron Tail vs Iron Tail. Exhausted, both Pokémon finally fall to the ground, and though they get back up, Pikachu cannot continue. Team Rocket's Meowth is delighted, but not for long--Jessie and James have been caught stealing Pokémon by their new boss, who sends all three flying! Tyson goes on to win the Hoenn League and Ash, happy that he battled his best, can now look forward to his next big adventure.

Happy to have found a ride back to land, Ash and friends offer to help this passenger in his search. As the group moves below deck, however, their party begins disappearing, one member at a time. The shadowy figure responsible turns out to be a Swampert, which evolved from Tommy's Marshtomp! The two are reunited, and our heroes are released. Tommy sees that the ship has become a haven for Water-type Pokémon, and stays on board with Swampert to fix it up into the best home it can be.Silly at the Middle but Sad at the end

He pushes Treecko to fight harder than any Pokémon should, and Treecko is quickly defeated by Brawly's Makuhita. Later, Ash sees Brawly surfing with his Pokémon, and discovers that for this Gym Leader, surfing is a form of training. Ash realizes that he was too hard-headed, and vows to train on Dewford Island for a rematch.

In the meantime, Ash's friends and Team Rocket all manage to get caught in one of Team Rocket's traps--and the tide is coming in! Brock sends Taillow to Ash with an SOS. Ash speeds to the rescue, and Corphish frees everyone from the traps. After that, May doesn't mind Corphish's over-enthusiastic hugs anymore.

Max, Tommy, and the other kids become good friends, and Ash gears up for his battle the following day with Roxanne, a Trainer's School teacher and the Rustboro Gym Leader!

But Ash and friends persevere, and their new Pokémon friend is eventually brought back to and happily reunited with its herd. However, that occasion doesn't occur without Ash being the last of our sleepy Heroes to experience the full impact of Hippopotas' Yawn!

Ash then suggests Pokémon battling to help the young Chingling mature, and Ash and Dawn have a Battle to demonstrate. Meanwhile, not only are Ash and friends impressed with the singing Chingling trio, but Team Rocket as well, who craft a fiendish plot to steal the Chingling by using a robot Chingling to infiltrate the group. There's one small problem - the mecha Chingling can't sing! Everyone soon realizes what Team Rocket is up to, and a fierce battle ensues. But Francesca's young and spoiled Chingling surprises everyone by showing it has matured by launching some amazing and powerful attacks, and Team Rocket is sent blasting off once again. And so, with the Chingling trio safely returned to Francesca, our Heroes bid a fond farewell to their new and talented friends, anticipating the day when they'll get to enjoy another Pokémon magic show.

When Brock discovers that Jaco holds little hope for successfully training the Electrike to be able to control its power, he offers to help, and in the process has much to teach Jaco about Lightning Pokémon, and Breeding in general. At the same time, Team Rocket is considering stealing the Electrike for their own selfish ends, but when James and Meowth see how well our Heroes and their Pokémon are working with Jaco and the Electrike as a real team, they break with Jessie and offer to help with Electrike's training as well. This infuriates Jessie, and she is left to go it alone, attempting to first steal the Electrike, and then Pikachu. But thanks to James and Meowth's assistance, her plan is foiled, and the Electrike, who has now evolved into a Manectric, graduates from the Pokémon Training Center with flying colors!

Although it appears the evil trio is about to grab every Pokémon they can get their hands on, a thrilling combination of teamwork and tenacity allows Pokémon and trainer alike to burst through the multiple maze walls, uniting our Heroes once again and sending Team Rocket off - empty handed!

They find themselves in an ancient ruin underground. Curious, Ash picks up a statue of a Pikachu, which sets off an enormous boulder trap! They take off running and bump into Brandon, the Frontier Brain of the Battle Pyramid, who scolds them for messing with things they don't understand. The message doesn't register, however, and when Ash picks up a stone sphere, he is possessed by the angry spirit of the ancient king of Pokélantis! The king demands that everyone give up their Pokémon, and Brandon challenges him to a battle. Brandon appears to be losing, until Ash regains consciousness. After a struggle to reclaim control of his own body, Ash asks Pikachu to use Thunderbolt on him--which knocks Ash unconscious and drives out the evil king! Brandon and Ash make plans for a rematch after the Grand Festival.

Brock tries to convince the remodelers to stop their work, but they refuse unless he beats them in battle. His Steelix and Ash's Donphan go up against Team Rocket's borrowed Charizard and Aggron, and at first our heroes seem to be losing, but the inevitable bickering between Jessie and James causes their strategy to fall apart. Ash and Brock win, and the Pewter Gym is returned to its original condition. When Brock's parents get home, he has some choice words about their thoughtless behavior, but forgives them when they apologize and promise never to do it again. After their visit, Ash and friends head off for the Battle Pyramid!
