GI Joe: a Reboot for the Ages

I'm a child of the 80's. GI Joe was LIFE growing up, and unfortunately the live-action film adaptation and sequel...lacked (with the exception of Dwayne Johnson as 'Roadblock'). If given the chance, I KNOW I could pick better actors to portray the Real American Heroes. And yes, in MY mind they'll always be American heroes!!! ;)

“ Conrad Hauser (Duke)- How great (for 'Chuck' fans) to see Captain Awesome play a literal "captain awesome"?! Ryan McPartlin has the look and acting skills to pull off a great leading role, and he could have great chemistry with my choice for Scarlett. ” - fnpople2020

Elisha Cuthbert
Actress, 24
Elisha Ann Cuthbert (born November 30, 1982) is a Canadian actress and model. She became internationally known for playing Kim Bauer in the series 24; Danielle in the teen comedy film The Girl Next Door and Carly Jones in the 2005 in of House of Wax. She was voted the sexiest actress in the world in 2015 by the magazine Glam'Mag...
“ Shana O'Hara (Scarlett)- It takes a beauty to play Scarlett, but this agent isn't just about looks. This character has to be physical and convincing as a cunning agent. Elisha Cuthbert played vulnerable and tough in'24,' a role that demanded a full-range of emotion. It'd be great to see Scarlett given the role of a fully-competent female soldier. Plus it'd be great to see Elisha with auburn hair. ” - fnpople2020

“ Lonzo Wilkinson (Stalker)- I love Gaius Charles' performance on 'Grey's Anatomy,' and he fits the age bracket of an Iraq-Afghanistan veteran. It'd be great to see this young actor get more screen time. ” - fnpople2020

4.
“ Dashiell Faireborn (Flint)- Brant Daugherty is a talented and potentially great actor, and would be phenomenal as the egotist tactician of the GI Joe team. It would be great to see the conflict a character like him could bring to team dynamics, especially in dealing with Duke and Lady Jaye. ” - fnpople2020

5.
“ Alison R. Hart-Burnett (Lady Jaye)- As far as strong female characters go, few match the potential levels of "badassness" as Lady Jaye. The role calls for a tough actress, and although she's a newcomer, Alyssa Diaz could really take the role in a new direction that would pleasantly surprise GI Joe fans. ” - fnpople2020

6.
“ Charlie iron-Knife (Spirit)- A re-imagined, more complex (and frankly, less-stereotyped) Spirit would make an excellent GI Joe character. A tracker and soldier, Spirit could bring in a new element to ground the team's morals as well. Tatanka Means has been steadily growing into a great actor and could really prove himself here by playing slightly out of his wheelhouse. ” - fnpople2020

7.
“ Dr. Carla Greer (Doc)- The original GI Joe character "Doc" had a niece who ended up taking her uncle's codename as medical officer for the GI Joe team. A pacifist, Doc is critical to the team's survival. Annie Ilonzeh would be terrific in this role! ” - fnpople2020

8.
“ Courtney Krieger (Covergirl)- This could be a real breakout role for a talented actress, but beauty DOES play a part. Covergirl was once a model, so anything less would almost be a disservice to the role. However, this isn't a vapid runway diva-- Covergirl is a mechanic and armor specialist who isn't afraid to get dirty. Emily Bruhn doesn't have experience, but this could launch her career if done right. ” - fnpople2020

Bodie Olmos
Bodie James Olmos was was named after a ghost town in California his mother, Kaija Keel, visited as a girl. He was only seven years old when he made his first acting appearance in The Ballad of Gregorio Cortez. Once a triathlon athlete (swimming, biking, running) and cross country runner, Bodie still runs, but surfing has remained his favorite sport for nearly twenty years...
“ Martin Pidel (Hard Drive)- Every special forces team needs a computer geek, and Hard Drive is the go-to Joe for tech service. A little-known newer character in the GI Joe universe, Bodie Olmos has that lanky, handsome but nerdy look that could work well. ” - fnpople2020

Michael Trucco
Actor, Hush
Born and raised in San Mateo, California, he graduated from Santa Clara University with a BA in Theatre Arts and was quickly headed to Los Angeles to pursue his dream of a career in Film and Television. He didn't have to wait long. A recurring role on "BEVERLY HILLS 90210" brought Michael the recognition...
“ Clayton Abernathy (Hawk)- As the strategic commander of the GI Joe team, Colonel Hawk is a leader unafraid to get into the thick of battle, but has given wide berth to his Joes to develop their leadership skills. Michael Trucco has that rough-around-the-edges quality about himself that could translate well in this role. ” - fnpople2020

John Glover
Actor, Smallville
John Soursby Glover, Jr., is an American actor, known for a range of villainous roles in films and television, including Lionel Luthor on the Superman-inspired television series Smallville. In 1993 he co-starred in the dark comedy Ed and His Dead Mother with Steve Buscemi and Ned Beatty.Glover was born in Salisbury...
“ Cobra Commander- I thought it'd be cool to play a totally different route for "ol' snake breath" and pick John Glover for the role of the terror organization leader. He was deliciously evil in 'Smallville,' and he could really play borderline psychotic well. Being older and more experienced than the Joes will give a good psychological element to the role as well. ” - fnpople2020
