Films released in 2013

This is a rank detailing the ranking of the films released so far this year in America Theatrically(festivals don't count) that I have seen.

I would like to remind readers that this is only my opinion and if you disagree, that is perfectly fine. I will be adding to this list until the Oscars.

Not objective standard, for I judge films based on the genre that it is in, for comparing a film like Armageddon to Citizen Kane does not make sense. So sometimes when you see a higher rating, that does not mean that it is better than a certain film necessarily. If I give a movie a 5 or below I do not recommend it, 7 and above I do, 6 is mixed.

9. Great

Imdb is wrong about this not being in select theaters in America, so that is why it is here.

An intriguing film based on the book of the same name is one of the more odd films this year. A few of the plot points seemed rush and not fully thought out. The performances are passable, but the film fully catches the setting with beautiful cinematography. ” - Sergeant343

A film that was actually more smarter than I was expecting that does not paint everything black and white, while albeit at times the writing does get heavy handed and I would of liked to seen more of their relationships before the mission, it is still and engaging piece, featuring amazing sound design and brutal special effects. ” - Sergeant343

After a rough first half it picks up steam and becomes a revealing look at the "shamed" Irish mothers and one mom's journey to find out about her son. The performances are solid. Die Hard in the white house. Most of the faults of the movie come from the script that is doesn't set up the character properly so the film relies on a text at the bottom of the screen introducing them, useless characters, and the usual action movie cliches. If you are a fan of die hard clones then this is a movie for you, but it still a fun watch. ” - Sergeant343

The film is more of a story of Apple, than a story of Jobs himself and glosses over what should be significant events and is too deliberately paced and the script could have benefited from a massive rewrite, for the film plays it too safe.
