A Collection of Movies & Favorites

Of course judge for yourself, but I feel this (now up to three-page) list of my own movie collection represents a wide array of quality and truly-collectible works across many genres.

Of course there exists a certain bias with any collection. A movie can be liked based on perhaps a personal connection to a story or theme, or one's own interests, taste, or even one's gender, age or generation plays a part in liking a particular movie, but I feel "nearly anyone" will find this a useful watchlist for themselves when searching for a wide mix of very entertaining, and in most every case -- very well-made films to enjoy, as defined by: Excellent filming or cinematography, or attention-to-detail directing, perhaps wonderful sets and locations, or rich and in-depth writing --whether dramatic, suspense or humor, or maybe some brilliant acting and performances alone were enough to put in on the list. But most are favorites because of their originality and/or stand-alone uniqueness. For ANY of these reasons, I think nearly anyone would enjoy these movies.

The list begins with a few all-time personal favorites (in somewhat order) but then becomes random the further down the list, ending with dozens of movies that I find a stretch to even consider "collectible" but I happen to own because they were "good enough" combined "inexpensive enough" to buy.

Excellently made to the point where numerous WWII Normandy veterans themselves agreed at the time it was released that it was as close to how the Allied landing went (and the way war is in general) that has ever been portrayed in a film.

I particularly liked the many great lines in the movie, some that will leave you with an appreciation for such ancestors in the likes of Thomas Jefferson, Madison or Washington. "Our survival often demands our courage." There's also the line that I particularly liked, that defines the movie itself, "Our lives are not our own. From womb to tomb we are bound to others ...past and present ...and by each crime or every kindness we birth our future."
