Top 20 horror films (pre 2000's)

Here is my Top 10 horror films pre 2000's. I've added my review for each entry. Classic horror like Halloween and Friday the 13th fall just outside my Top 10.

“ Unusual for a big 'star' of the time to appear in a horror film, but Gregory Peck is superb in this.He makes the film so believable.The horror builds and builds.And I think the horror on Remick's face when the nanny commits suicide, is a great iconic scene.Top notch 70's horror. I prefer this to the exorcist. Two follow up sequels so so, but best of just watching this.Avoid the 2000's remake,though.. ” - d-tomlin

Copied so many times in the early 80's with a seemingly never ending run of slasher films, not to mention 10 (ish) sequels to this.
