-Notably horrific gore and/or gross scenes
-Unique or odd storytelling format
-Surreal, chilling, bizarre or psychedelic tone

Obviously this is highly subjective, and this list is very much a work in progress. The goal is mostly to showcase unique, offbeat, or unusually dark films that cover a wide range of themes and styles.
