Prince Daka (Batman 1943)

Based in a funhouse in of horrors, Dr. Tito Daka set out to take over the world by creating an army of pseudo-zombies via a special device that he had created. However, Batman and Robin raided his base and disrupted his plan. As he tried to escape, Batman told Robin to press the button on Daka's control panel that would close the door and block his exit. Robin, however, accidentally pressed the wrong button, opening a trap door just beneath Daka's feet, and the villain plunged into a crocodile pit and was torn apart.

2. Leonard Penn

Carter/The Wizard (Batman and Robin 1949)

The Wizard is a mysterious, hooded figure who has possession of an electrical device which can control cars. In addition to that, he seems to have an insatiable desire to set challenges for the Dynamic Duo, Batman and Robin.

The Caped Crusader and his sidekick are misled to believe that Professor Hamill is the Wizard, and that he is waiting for them in his office, having confessed and awaiting arrest. As they arrive, they find him sitting with his valet, Carter, and the Professor confesses to the Wizard's crimes. However, Batman and Robin have already deduced the true identity of the Wizard, and arrest Carter, before the Professor reveals that Carter had threatened to kill him if he did not confess to the crimes Carter had committed as the Wizard.

However, Batman and Robin pursue them to the Penguin's submarine and knocked the Joker overboard, before retrieving the remains of the council and re-hydrating them, thus saving the world from disaster.

Jack Napier/The Joker (Batman 1989)

Jack Napier started out as a lowly criminal who, on one fateful night, mugged and then shot Thomas and Martha Wayne, right in front of their son, Bruce, causing Bruce to set out on a lifelong war against crime in Gotham, in an attempt to avenge his parents murder.

Years later, Napier had become involved with crime boss Carl Grissom, and is also having an affair with his mistress. One night, Napier is sent by Grissom to the Axis Chemicals factory, but as revenge for the affair, Grissom tips off the police, who arrive to arrest Napier. Batman also appears, and accidentally knocks Napier over a rail and he plunges into a vat of chemicals.

Unbeknownst to Batman of the police, Napier survived and returned, the acid having formed his face into a permanent smile, as the Joker. He began his 'new life' by shooting Grissom to death and then taking over his empire, before altering various products using his Joker toxin.

In the end, Batman chases the Joker up to the top of a church tower, where he is holding his love interest Vicki Vale hostage. After a brutal fist fight, with Bruce venting his anger over Napier's killing of his parents, the Joker seemingly falls from the spire, but actually grabs hold and pulls Batman and Vicki over the edge. Laughing maniacally as his escape helicopter approaches, the Joker taunts Batman and then tries to climb onto the rope ladder dangling from the chopper. Batman fires his grappling hook around the Joker's leg and ties him down to a stone gargoyle. As the helicopter attempts to fly away, the gargoyle dislodges, the weight pulling down on the Joker until he finally plunges to his death.

Carl Grissom (Batman 1989)

Carl Grissom was the crime kingpin of Gotham and a high-profile target for the police. His mistress was engaging in an affair with his second in command, Jack Napier, so he hatched a revenge plot. He sent Napier to the Axis Chemicals factory, but then tipped off the police anonymously so that they would arrest him. During the scuffle, Napier fell into a chemical vat and re-emerged as the Joker. Then, he returned to his old friend Carl, and despite Grissom's pleas, shot him to death without mercy.

Lau

Lau took refuge in China, but as the Joker had pointed out, Batman has no jurisdiction and he captured Lau.

Lau was held in the Gotham police station, where the Joker was also being interrogated after his capture. However, the Joker escaped with the help of a bomb and then kidnapped Lau. At the Chechen's hideout, the Joker tied Lau up and placed him on top of a pile of money, the Joker's own cut. The Joker then soaked the money in petrol before igniting it, presumably burning Lau to death.
