The list of films & TV series that I watch at random

This list represents the films and television series that I watch at random. I purchase films quite regularly on many different formats from dvd, vhs, laserdisc, and Blu Ray. A lot of the more rarer films that I watch aren't available on any format and are only available on youtube. Some will be good, some great, but plenty of cheesy B/ campy stuff and outright bad stuff too. I enjoy collecting films and series. I am just listing the stuff that I started watching as of Jan. 2012 to now, and will keep adding new films and shows as I view it. (I watch a a lot of shows and movies) Well, I can't wait to update my 'viewed list' as I find new material to watch. Check out my list if you need some new ideas of things to watch. It has been a minute since I updated this random watch list, so here are a few more.

“ I finally got around to watching Night Gallery, and I like it quite well. Rod Serling walks around a closed art gallery and gives a tour of the different paintings and each work is an episode. So just the intro alone is very well done, and the stories are a darker version of Serling's Twilight Zone. I highly recommend this show to people that are fans of anthology series.

“ I stayed away from this show like the plague for a long time just because I had heard that it was terrible from several reviews that I read, but I decided to watch it anyhow and it was actually very good, and yes I will admit that Forrest Whitaker was a very strange candidate to be the host of this new Twilight Zone show, but the stories are really what matter. Although, I did see an episode in which Whitaker does his end of episode wrap up speech and he seems to mess up by only saying, "this could only happen, in the zone". He was supposed to say, "The Twilight Zone". Besides that, and the odd choice of intro music scored by Jonathan Davis of KORN, it really was a very great collection of anthology stories, and the price was great on Amazon.

This is a very overlooked anthology series gem. There are so many great episodes in this series, and all of them are written by Ray Bradbury himself. The intro is also very special feeling as the audience feels like Ray Bradbury is taking you, the viewer into his special imagination area where he conjures up all of his ideas for writing wonderful fiction. There is even a great episode called, 'Tyrannosaurus Rex', which is written as an obvious tribute to his dear friend Ray Harryhausen. I cannot recommend this series enough! ” - Tardisbooth

I would like to point out that this is not the same film reviewed in Mystery Science Theater 3000 with the same title. This is the 1969 Hammer Film Production version. This film is very, very strange, and not surprisingly very similar in look and design to 2001 A Space Odyssey. It has some great scenes, and it has some lousy moments also. I do however really like the orange moon buggy's that are available to rent in the movie. I also see a heavy resemblance to this film in the movie 'MOON' from 2009. There is a vengeful, blood thirsty, Aunt Jemima type black lady that will stop at nothing to get revenge on the surf nazi's that killed her son. This makes for some comical, yet serious butt kicking by the mad black woman, including her tossing random grenades, riding a Harley Davidson while smoking a cigar, and wielding a pistol, and all of this happens while she is supposed to be a resident at a senior citizen retirement home. His film reviews were what inspired me to seek out and watch countless films that I have come to love and cherish that I may not have found out about otherwise. (I owe a great deal of credit to Cinemassacre for my HUGE film collection that I have amassed over the years) Monster Madness is also special because James only does this series during the month of October, and when he is not doing a full length feature film, you can expect a different monster madness review for every day of October. However, now that James is very popular and successful, and having a baby, and everyday life, there might not be a full Monster Madness series in the future. For example, this past October in 2012 Monster Madness was very watered down and very short reviews, and the reviews were spaced out about every 3-4 days instead of the traditional every day a new review routine. At least there will be a treasure trove of archived Cinemassacre videos to go back to in case James decides to do bigger and better projects in his future promising career as a director. I recently bought Patterns on dvd, and I thought it was kinda comical that Troma (the studio that gave us The Toxic Avenger) which is known for their very low budget B films released such a great film such as 'Patterns' on DVD. Patterns must be in public domain or something. I wonder if Rod Serling would be happy or not about Troma releasing this film on dvd? Regardless, I have a place in my heart for both Rod Serling, and Troma films because both stand for independence and the right to publish without censorship. ” - Tardisbooth
