Curse of Chucky (2013)

After her mother's mysterious death, Nica begins to suspect that the talking, red-haired doll her visiting niece has been playing with may be the key to recent bloodshed and chaos. (97 mins.)
Director: Don Mancini
“ Poor sequel, though I have to praise Don Mancini for taking it back to it's seriousness after the last few movies had a lot of black humour in it. It takes too long before something happens, besides that it never gets scary. The kills aren't spectacular, plus the camera turns away too soon. I've seen the unrated version, but nothing too unrated about it...
Keep sticking for an extra scene after the credits, you might like the surprise.

Director: Gabriel Bologna
“ The horror version of Jumanji and a bad one. The acting is poor and it takes about an hour before the horror even starts. Though the kills are kinda entertaining.

When Katie innocently accepts an offer to have new photos taken for her portfolio, the experience quickly turns into a nightmare of rape, torture and kidnapping. Now, she will have to find the strength to exact her brutal revenge. (106 mins.)
“ Poor sequel. The rape isn't sensational, plus it takes too long to get to the revenge part. Only the last 30 minutes are good where the protagonist finally takes her brutal revenge with lots of disturbing scenes.

Scottish cannibal Sawney Bean and his murderous, inbred family are responsible for over a thousand murders over the centuries. (90 mins.)
Director: Ricky Wood
“ The movie takes too much time to tell the story. The gore is pretty scarce, though there are some nice tortures and rapes in it.
Robert Hayman steals the show as Sawney, but even he can't save the movie from boredom.

A man imprisons his estranged junkie friend in an isolated cabin in the boonies San Diego to force him through a week of sobriety, but the events of that week are being mysteriously manipulated. (93 mins.)
“ Not really a horror, more a mystery. Lots of conversations about nothing at first sight, but it has a deeper meaning by giving small clues. You have to love movies like this, but don't expect to see any scary stuff.

Six forensic undergrads embark on a scientific expedition to a remote island that was once used as illegal biological testing grounds for life-term prisoners. (87 mins.)
Director: Lowell Dean
“ Pretty low budget zombie flick. Too bad, because the starting point is kinda interesting and the cast including the lovely Katharine Isabelle wasn't too bad. But the zombies look really cheap and the following of events is nothing special. Plus the ending got cut off out of the sudden like there was no more money left.
Not recommended.

A shy girl, outcasted by her peers and sheltered by her religious mother, unleashes telekinetic terror on her small town after being pushed too far at her senior prom. (100 mins.)
Director: Kimberly Peirce
“ This is basically a one on one copy from the original, only set in modern day. Moretz is too nice to match Spacek's performance. Besides that the tension is nowhere to be found.
This is truly an unmeritorious remake. It is wise to watch the original again and avoid this disaster at all costs.
