1. Sherlock (2010– )
TV-14 | 88 min | Crime, Drama, Mystery
A modern update finds the famous sleuth and his doctor partner solving crime in 21st century London.
Definitely my all time favourite TV show. Absolutely love Benedict Cumberbatch, Martin Freeman and Andrew Scott. Top actors who really put a stamp on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's characters.
4. Whitechapel (2009– )
180 min | Crime, Mystery, Thriller
A fast-tracked inspector, a hardened detective sergeant, and an expert in historical homicides investigate modern crimes with connections to the past in the Whitechapel district of London.
Really one-of-a-kind TV series. Brilliant line-up of actors and anyone who's interested in crime (particularly the very interesting cases of murder), like me, will love this show. It includes nothing but the most engaging cases (including copy-cat crimes of the most infamous serial killers) and creative writing behind it.
5. The Mighty Boosh (2003–2007)
30 min | Comedy, Fantasy, Musical
Vince Noir and Howard Moon have surreal adventures while working at a Zoo run by the deranged Bob Fossil (in series 1) and pursuing a career as musicians and living with the mystic Naboo ... See full summary »
6. Death Note: Desu nôto (2006–2007)
TV-14 | 24 min | Animation, Crime, Drama
An intelligent high school student goes on a secret crusade to eliminate criminals from the world after discovering a notebook capable of killing anyone whose name is written into it.
An anime/manga series that is completely original, engaging and exciting. You get involved throughout this thought-provoking series that contains very well developed and likable characters, where you'll definitely pick your favourites. It's a mix of highly fictitious, religious ideas and symbolism, with real issues of crime and personal morals.
7. An Idiot Abroad (2010–2012)
TV-14 | 43 min | Documentary, Adventure, Comedy
Brit Karl Pilkington has led a sheltered life. Not having done any traveling, he enjoys living within the comforts of what he knows, basically that being what is purely British. As such, ... See full summary »
My favourite episodes are when Karl goes to Mexico, closely followed by when he visits China (both Series 1). Ever since I first saw Karl Pilkington I thought how strangely alike we are. We can both appear very cynical and sardonic to most people, but it's purely honesty. I completely appreciate someone else who can look at the world without rose-tinted lenses. His reactions are so genuine and blunt that you can't help laughing.
8. The Ricky Gervais Show (2010–2012)
TV-MA | 30 min | Animation, Comedy, Talk-Show
Ricky Gervais and Stephen Merchant talk to Karl Pilkington about important things in life whilst Karl provides anything but intelligent answers. Comedy at its finest with wonderful animation.
10. Sabrina, the Teenage Witch (1996–2003)
TV-G | 22 min | Comedy, Family, Fantasy
When a 16-year-old high school student finds out she's a witch, her two aunts offer guidance on how to control her newly-discovered magical powers.
11. Goosebumps (1995–1998)
TV-Y7 | 22 min | Comedy, Family, Fantasy
A series of horror anthology stories based on the children's books by R.L. Stine.
One of the best childhood shows for me. I was always interested in horror, since I was a young child, and I'd always watch 'Goosebumps' and think it was fantastic. Usually childhood programs seem cheesy and badly made when you get older, but I still think 'Goosebumps' is a watcher.
12. Pushing Daisies (2007–2009)
TV-PG | 44 min | Comedy, Drama, Fantasy
A pie-maker, with the power to bring dead people back to life, solves murder mysteries with his alive-again childhood sweetheart, a cynical private investigator, and a lovesick waitress.
14. Home Improvement (1991–1999)
TV-G | 22 min | Comedy, Family
The daily trials and tribulations of Tim "The Tool Man" Taylor, a TV show host raising three mischievous boys with help from his loyal co-host, loving wife, and eccentric neighbor.
15. Sooty & Co. (1993–1998)
Adventure, Comedy, Family
A man runs a shop in Manchester with fun, mischievous puppets Sooty, Sweep, Soo and Little Cousin Scampi.
This was definitely my favourite program I watched growing up, I still have all the VHS tapes. I'd watch this now and find it funny. Miss seeing Matthew Corbett on my television.
16. The Sooty Show (1968–1992)
30 min | Family
Children's slapstick show with the little bear glove puppet and his friends.
The earlier version of Sooty & Co that Matthew Corbett starred in.
18. QI (2003– )
TV-PG | 30 min | Comedy, Game-Show
A comedy panel game in which being Quite Interesting is more important than being right. Sandi Toksvig is joined each week by four comedians to share anecdotes and trivia, and maybe answer some questions as well.
More shows should be educational, interesting and funny simultaneously. Alan Davis never fails to make me laugh, there's always brilliant guests and Stephen Fry is truly a great man.
20. Whose Line Is It Anyway? (1998–2007)
TV-PG | 30 min | Comedy, Game-Show
Improvisational comedy competition show in which four members of the regular cast as comedians and often with guest appearances with other comedians and celebrities and members of the audience perform various comic games and sketches.
Probably the only U.S. remake of a British show that I prefer more than the original UK show. Absolutely love it.
21. Would I Lie to You? (2007– )
30 min | Comedy, Game-Show
Two teams, lead by their team leader (either Lee Mack or David Mitchell), have to try and make the other team believe their crazy stories.
David Mitchell, Lee Mack and Rob Brydon. That alone is enough for me.
22. Doctor Who (2005– )
TV-PG | 45 min | Adventure, Drama, Family
The further adventures in time and space of the alien adventurer known as the Doctor, a Time Lord/Lady who can change appearance and gender, and his/her companions.
Usually I can't stand anything Sci-Fi in this way, but the 9th and 10th Dr. Doctor Who's were brilliant. David Tennant will always be the perfect Doctor Who for me.
24. The League of Gentlemen (1999–2017)
TV-MA | 60 min | Comedy, Horror
An interweaving narrative chronicling the antics of such diverse characters as: a transsexual taxi driver, a family obsessed with hygiene and toads, a fiery reverend, a carnival owner who kidnaps women into marriage, and a xenophobic couple who run a local shop for local people.
27. My Life in Film (2004– )
30 min | Comedy
Art is an independent film-maker with big ideas... sadly nobody will listen to these ideas, with the exception of his best friend Jones. The series follows Art as his overactive imagination... See full summary »

TV-MA | 50 min | Action, Drama, Sci-Fi
The members of the Torchwood Institute, a secret organization founded by the British Crown, fight to protect the Earth from extraterrestrial and supernatural threats.
29. The Apprentice UK (2005– )
59 min | Game-Show, Reality-TV
20 young entrepreneurs compete in several business tasks, and must survive the weekly firings in order to become the business partner of one of the most successful businessmen.
32. Extras (2005–2007)
TV-MA | 30 min | Comedy, Drama
Andy Millman is an actor with ambition and a script. Reduced to working as an extra with a useless agent, Andy's attempts to boost his career invariably end in failure and embarrassment.
41. Supernatural (2005– )

Two brothers follow their father's footsteps as "hunters", fighting evil supernatural beings of many kinds, including monsters, demons, and gods that roam the earth.
44. Horrible Histories (2009–2018)
Comedy, Family, History
A group of British comedians show the sides of history they don't teach you in school. From the 'Savage Stone Age' to the 'Troublesome 20th Century', you see the full side to history.
46. Attack on Titan (2013– )
