While home sick in bed, a young boy's grandfather reads him a story called The Princess Bride. (98 mins.)
Director: Rob Reiner
“ An absolute cult classic for anyone who like this movie for the romance or the comedy. The Princess Bride is staged as a book read by grandfather (Peter Falk) to his ill grandson (Fred Savage). Falk's character assures a romance-weary Savage that the book has much more to deliver than a simpering love story, including but not limited to fencing, fighting, torture, death, true love, giants, and pirates.

The story is about a farm boy named Wesley(Cary Elwes) and the young woman who tortures him(we later find out it was out of love), Buttercup(Robin Wright) and how they battle the odds to hold on to one another against the ruthless Prince Humperdink(Chris Sarandon). ” - Cosmic_Cre

This is a guy who looked at this painfully shy Plain Jane and thought she was the most beautiful woman in the world and because of that belief, she started to see it within herself. Their love and devotion to one another grew and flourish throughout the entire saga and it was just so beautiful to watch. ” - Cosmic_Cre

She's loving her new look and job and her confidence shows... just in time for Ian to come into her life again. They start going out against the wishes of her parents because Ian's not Greek. On Christmas Day, she rescues him from an oncoming train after a mugger pushes him onto the tracks. He falls into a coma, and she accompanies him to the hospital, where a nurse overhears her musing aloud, "I was going to marry him." Misinterpreting her, the nurse tells his family that she is his fiancée.

At first she is too caught up in the panic to explain the truth. She winds up keeping the secret for a number of reasons: she is embarrassed, Peter's grandmother Elsie (Glynis Johns) has a heart condition, and Lucy quickly comes to love being a part of Peter's big and loving family. She spends a belated Christmas with them and then meets Peter's younger brother Jack (Bill Pullman), who is supposed to take over his father's furniture business. He is suspicious of her at first, but he falls in love with her as they spend time together. They develop a close friendship and soon she falls in love with him as well. ” - Cosmic_Cre
