The Best British TV Comedies (of all time)

by The_Invisible_Dog | created - 13 Nov 2013 | updated - 3 months ago | Public

..In my humble and not so humble opinion as a true Brit with 3 and a half decades of obsessive TV watching behind him.

There is no order to the list. Best read chronologically or alphabetically.

There are some classics missing (Red Dwarf, Peep Show etc) simply because i didn't enjoy them as much as i do the ones on the list. I'm sure there are some others missing that i simply forgot (apologies).

Hopefully you can discover or rediscover a great comedy from reading this list.

Cheers for now.

I know, i know, it's essentially Irish not British but a list of Great Irish Comedies would be sadly too small to bother making. Plus it's British Channel 4 that broke this comedy. And it's worth putting on the list for anyone who hasn't seen it yet (if so, you have a treat in store). Plus despite political borders, in 2013 you'd hard pushed to find a Brit without any celtic blood in their veins so we are one family of sorts. I'll shut up now.
