10 Best Horror Films of 1943

by nauru-1 | created - 29 Sep 2013 | updated - 27 Mar 2016 | Public

Between Universal's monster series, Val Lewton's low-budget psychological horrors, and a slew of standalone chillers, this is as prolific horror would get until the late 50's. It's honestly a fantastic year for horror all things considered. Also, for those fans of the 40's monster mashups, it all starts here.

Notable Films sometimes labelled as horror: Jane Eyre, Sherlock Holmes Faces Death, Day of Wrath

Notable Films that didn't make the cut: Calling Dr. Death, The Mysterious Doctor, The Mad Ghoul, Captive Wild Woman, Who Killed Who?, Revenge of the Zombies, The Phantom Baron, Dead Men Walk, Henry Aldrich Haunts a House, The Ape Man, Ghosts on the Loose, The Wolf of the Malveneurs
