Votes: 994,376 | Gross: $132.38M
This is Martin Scorsese at his best. Glorifying the life of crime with over the top violence and language, and believable and sometimes eccentric performances by Hollywood's finest. Just incredible.
3. Fight Club (1999)
R | 139 min | Drama
An insomniac office worker, looking for a way to change his life, crosses paths with a devil-may-care soapmaker, forming an underground fight club that evolves into something much, much more.
Votes: 1,544,205 | Gross: $37.03M
This movie is one of the most quotable movies I have ever seen. The dialogue in this is probably some of the greatest of all time. It defied a lot of the movie rules which most of the time isn't a good thing, but with this, it just makes the movie even more incredible. Also, this is one of the rare movies that I found myself loving Brad Pitt.
4. (500) Days of Summer (2009)

Votes: 414,399 | Gross: $84.35M
This movie is FUNNY. Why else would a comedy be on this list? But besides that, it has some great characters. I'm so tired of comedies degrading womanizers as inhuman sociopaths who don't have room to actually care about women. Jacob Palmer is different. This movie makes him a genuine human being who actually has a good character arc. I love the lesson this movie teaches about never giving up on your soul mate, and that degrading women to just sexual partners is wrong. This is one of the rare comedies that actually tries to do more than just provide one liners and dirty sex gags. It's a real treat.
PG-13 | 143 min | Action, Adventure, Fantasy
Blacksmith Will Turner teams up with eccentric pirate "Captain" Jack Sparrow to save his love, the governor's daughter, from Jack's former pirate allies, who are now undead.
Votes: 908,845 | Gross: $305.41M
This a blockbuster based on a ride. How did it work so well? First of all, it turned pirates into heroes. That's different. It's hero is the rare combination of a likable rogue who is both self centered and clumsy , yet undeniably charming. This is a really fun movie. It's my favorite Disney movie by far.
7. Kung Fu Panda (2008)
PG | 92 min | Animation, Action, Adventure
The Dragon Warrior has to clash against the savage Tai Lung as China's fate hangs in the balance: However, the Dragon Warrior mantle is supposedly mistaken to be bestowed upon an obese panda who is a tyro in martial arts.
Votes: 349,963 | Gross: $215.43M
A charming voice cast, led by the eccentric Jack Black. Kung Fu Panda is an action packed, hilarious, and deliciously clever story about following your dreams and finding your destiny no matter how unlikely it may seem. Besides, whose not going to love a fat panda bear that kicks butt with Kung Fu? I sure do.
8. The Hangover (2009)
R | 100 min | Comedy
Three buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night and the bachelor missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his wedding.
Votes: 635,643 | Gross: $277.32M
I have never laughed so hard at a movie in my life. The entire cast from Bradley Cooper's immature partier to Ed Helm's overbearing and controlling girlfriend is hilarious. Even Mike Tyson managed to be funny. I usually don't include normal comedies in my list of favorite movies, but this one is just so funny that I couldn't help but include it.
9. Back to the Future (1985)
PG | 116 min | Adventure, Comedy, Sci-Fi
Marty McFly, a 17-year-old high school student, is accidentally sent thirty years into the past in a time-traveling DeLorean invented by his close friend, the maverick scientist Doc Brown.
Votes: 849,634 | Gross: $210.61M
This is a classic, but it's also one of the craziest movies to ever come from the 80s. When it comes down to it, this and Terminator are the greatest time travel movies ever made. This just never quits being fun. It pays close attention to detail. It makes a disturbing situation of a mother falling in love with her son extremely entertaining. And it has an incompentent self obsessed villain to make it even more fun. You can't get much better than this.
10. Toy Story (1995)
G | 81 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy
A cowboy doll is profoundly threatened and jealous when a new spaceman figure supplants him as top toy in a boy's room.
Votes: 722,039 | Gross: $191.80M
Pixar makes some really good family movies, and there are none better than their first. Toy Story is a remarkable tale of jealousy and friendship told with an incredible voice cast including Tom Hanks and Tim Allen, some beautiful computer animation, and an incredible soundtrack including the Oscar winning You've got a Friend in Me. It's also funny, which adds onto the overall effect the movie had on me as a child.
11. The Wolf of Wall Street (2013)
R | 180 min | Biography, Comedy, Crime
Based on the true story of Jordan Belfort, from his rise to a wealthy stock-broker living the high life to his fall involving crime, corruption and the federal government.
Votes: 936,017 | Gross: $116.90M
This is a really controversial movie because of its nearly NC-17 rated content, but that's not why I liked it so much. This movie never quit being exciting and funny. I love movies with unlikable protagonists, but I've never seen one with a protagonist so despicable that I actually wanted to meet him. Leonardo DiCaprio and Jonah Hill did great jobs, but the one performance that blew me away was from newcomer Margot Robbie who proved she is both a pretty face and talented. I can't wait to see more from her.
12. Guardians of the Galaxy (2014)
PG-13 | 121 min | Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi
A group of intergalactic criminals are forced to work together to stop a fanatical warrior from taking control of the universe.
Votes: 822,734 | Gross: $333.18M
This movie was so different looking that I had to see it. I love it when big budget movies take risks and this definitely did that. The best parts of the movie are the ones with the talking raccoon and the tree that only says three words, which is a real accomplishment because those are risky characters to make. But James Gunn managed to make a funny, action packed, visual splendor of a movie with the addition of a fantastic soundtrack.
13. Anchorman: The Legend of Ron Burgundy (2004)
PG-13 | 94 min | Comedy
Ron Burgundy is San Diego's top-rated newsman in the male-dominated broadcasting of the 1970s, but that's all about to change for Ron and his cronies when an ambitious woman is hired as a new anchor.
Votes: 292,523 | Gross: $85.29M
