So while watching the entire first, and only season of the show "Outsourced" I had the idea for this list. That show was hilarious, and only lasted one season. A Shame considering the garbage we see on tv these days. So here are my top 10 shows which lasted 2 seasons or less.
(2003 TV Series)
Comedian Dave Chappelle hosts this sketch-comedy show that parodies many of the nuances of race and culture. (22 mins.)
“ Without a doubt the funniest sketch comedy show ever. In only two seasons Dave Chappelle gave the world many catch phrases like "I'm Rich Bitch" & "Cocaine's a hell of a drug!" plus many many more.
While the show was picked up for more seasons Dave walked out while filming his first few sketches into season 3. The world has never learned an exact reason why Dave left, and gave back the money he signed back on for but at least we have the first two seasons on dvd, and a special "season 3" dvd which has the few sketches Dave did before he left the show.
Dave Chappelle has been out of the spotlight since he left the show, and outside of a few stand up routines he's been very low key. As a fan I hope he returns in a more mainstream way. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(1996 TV Series)
In 1960s America, a young couple struggle to expose the truth about a hidden alien invasion, while a secret government organization follows its own agenda in dealing with the threat. (60 mins.)
“ The tv show which some would say "out x-filed the x-files," and it only did it in 1 season. The very short lived sci fi series rewrote history in a way which really makes you think that the truth is not out there but it's hidden in the pages of history. This show which honestly is the best series in the history of Ufology could someday be brought back, and continued with all the things which have happened since the only season aired. I've spoken to Bryce Zabel the creator of this show, and the man is a brilliant writer, and man I hope he brings this show back. I know the ratings were not that great the first season but a lot of shows are that way, and why this show got axed after only 1 season shows me that there might have been indeed a lot of truthful things in the storyline for this ground breaking show. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
The Lone Gunmen
(2001 TV Series)
Spin-off of The X-Files featuring the trio of computer-hacking conspiracy geeks popularly known as The Lone Gunmen... (45 mins.)
“ If you are like me then you are a big X Files fan, and as we X Files fan know this show spin off had way to short of a run. Only 1 season.
The show featured a trio of computer-hacking conspiracy geeks popularly known as "The Lone Gunmen" who used their skills to try to uncover some of the worlds biggest conspiracies.
The threesome of John Byers, Melvin Frohike, and Richard Langly play like a misguided Mission Impossible team, embarking on a series of comic adventures that are sure to both make you laugh, and keep you at the edge of your seat. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(2010 TV Series)
A manager is sent to India to oversee a staff of customer service representatives. (30 mins.)
“ When this show was on it's original run I had the chance to view one of it's episodes, and thought it was hilarious.
I wasn't able to catch another show because it was canceled shortly after. I've recently watched the entire season, and I can say this is one show which should have had more then 1 season.
Without a doubt one of the funniest sitcoms to only get one season. Plus any show with the gorgeous Rebecca Hazlewood & Pippa Black in it's cast deserves a better destiny then the one this show got. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(1989 TV Series)
A flying saucer crashed in the Mojave Desert and its inhabitants turned out to be alien slaves, bred to be super intelligent and strong... (60 mins.)
“ I grew up a major fan of both the movie, and tv show "Alien Nation" and have found memories of both. I remember always wondering how this series never made it past 1 season.
The show was about a flying saucer which crashed in the Mojave Desert and its inhabitants turned out to be alien slaves, bred to be super intelligent and strong, and controllable by their Overseers.
Male aliens giving birth to babies, aliens who drink old milk, and get drunk off it! There are so many funny, and geeky things about this show.
This is a series which deserves new life! A spin off or remake is in order for this franchise. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(2007 TV Series)
A man travels back in time to help people in trouble. (45 mins.)
“ As a big fan of Back to the Future I've always been a fan of time travel stories, and I was shocked to find out this amazing Time Travel show was not picked up for a second season due to the whole writers strike which happened as the show was wrapping up it's first season.
The show featured Investigative newspaper reporter Dan Vassar who was given the "gift" of time travel which allows him to suddenly travel back in time, only to enable him to set straight something which caused great problems in the present, for him, his loved-ones or broader society. That puts great strain on Dan's family, including doting but 'deserted' young son Zac and brother Jack, a cop who wants to learn the truth.
A Show with a great cast, a great story, and a sadly short lived life span. 1 season... A darn shame. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(2009 TV Series)
An extraterrestrial race arrives on Earth with seemingly good intentions, only to slowly reveal their true machinations the more ingrained into society they become. (42 mins.)
“ The original series in the 80's is a classic, and when word came out that this show was in development as a fanboy of the original I was extreamly excited about the possibilities with todays cgi, and with this great story idea. I expected a lot.
What I got was a show which lasted all off 2 seasons. The show was about an extraterrestrial race that arrives on Earth with seemingly good intentions, only to slowly reveal their true machinations the more ingrained into society they become.
The show had a slow start which is sad because it got really good by the middle of season two, and when the show ended it finally had started to show it's Epic potential. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(2009 TV Series)
A special task force in the FBI investigates after every person on Earth simultaneously blacks out and awakens with a short vision of their future. (42 mins.)
“ "Everyone in the world will get a flash of their own future." Sounds like a lot of fun right? Well not in this storyline. This show seemed destined to become the new "Lost" but ended up just getting Lost after only 1 season.
With a fine cast, and a heck of a story idea this shows short life span really is a shame. The show never ended picking up steam from the very first pilot episode until it's season, and sadly series finale.
If there ever was a series which could use a major motion picture spin off it's this one. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(2009 TV Series)
Two families, the Graystones and the Adamas, live together on a peaceful planet known as Caprica, where a startling breakthrough in artificial intelligence brings about unforeseen consequences. A spin-off of the Sci Fi Channel series "Battlestar Galactica" set 50 years prior to the events of that show. (60 mins.)
“ A Show that was confusing at first but after a few episodes became very addictive.
Two families, the Graystones and the Adamas, live on a peaceful planet known as Caprica, where a startling breakthrough in artificial intelligence brings about unforeseen consequences. A spin-off of the Sci Fi Channel series "Battlestar Galactica" set 50 years prior to the events of that show.
As spin off series go this one was very original, and different from "B.S.G," and one which really deserved more then 1 season. A fine series with a great cast. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
(2002 TV Series)
Five hundred years in the future, a renegade crew aboard a small spacecraft tries to survive as they travel the unknown parts of the galaxy and evade warring factions as well as authority agents out to get them. (44 mins.)
“ Had FOX not given "Firefly" such a terrible time slot and promoted the show better the world might have seen what exactly, Joss Whedon's (Avengers) space-Western could have been.
Sadly we only got 1 season of this show, and while it had a movie we will never know what could have been. ” - Tha_JackaL_1977
