- DirectorShane BlackStarsRussell CroweRyan GoslingAngourie RiceIn 1970s Los Angeles, a mismatched pair of private eyes investigate a missing girl and the mysterious death of a porn star.9/10: Upon re-watching the movie, I can safely say that the plot only seems convoluted and coincidental at first, but it isn't. I liked the dynamic between Crowe and Gosling, the little girl was not annoying, the movie was pretty funny (the jokes that didn't stick the landing in the trailer did in the movie), the characters and the mystery were interesting, and the action scenes were fun and enjoyable. There were also a lot of things that were subtly set up ahead of time. There were a few coincidences like Amelia happening to land on Crowe and Gosling's car, but the movie handles these things in the best way possible.
- DirectorKelly Fremon CraigStarsHailee SteinfeldHaley Lu RichardsonBlake JennerHigh-school life gets even more unbearable for Nadine when her best friend, Krista, starts dating her older brother.8/10: This is what I feel "Juno" tried to be: a quirky movie about some of the darker elements of being a teenager. The difference is that "The Edge of Seventeen" knows what it is doing. The characters are well written and believable, the humor is dark and hilarious, the performances are all very good, and there is very little pretentious dialogue. My only real complaint is that the main character is unlikable at certain points.
- DirectorAdam NimoyStarsChris PineKarl UrbanZoe SaldanaAn examination of the enduring appeal of Leonard Nimoy and his portrayal of Spock in Star Trek (1966).8/10: It is a movie tribute to Leonard Nimoy from his son and the people his life has impacted, filled with personality, heart, and sincerity. It gives a good look into who Nimoy was as a person and an artist, or at the very least reaffirms to the people who believed he was like this that he was indeed who they thought he was.
- DirectorScott DerricksonStarsBenedict CumberbatchChiwetel EjioforRachel McAdamsWhile on a journey of physical and spiritual healing, a brilliant neurosurgeon is drawn into the world of the mystic arts.8/10: It's well written, creative, fun, exciting, has some moments with a surprising amount of depth to them, a lot of good ideas, well written characters, and some fun and creative action sequences and effects, and mostly funny humor that goes fluently with the script. While the bad guy is uninteresting, he at least has motivation and a goal that doesn't constantly change. It is exactly what a super hero movie should be.
- DirectorClint EastwoodStarsTom HanksAaron EckhartLaura LinneyWhen pilot Chesley "Sully" Sullenberger lands his damaged plane on the Hudson River in order to save the flight's passengers and crew, some consider him a hero while others think he was reckless.8/10: It's a masterfully handled telling of a true story with good acting, but has a few minor dumb moments that could have been gotten rid of, like some of the flashbacks of Sully's life before the incident and dream sequences.
- DirectorDenis VilleneuveStarsAmy AdamsJeremy RennerForest WhitakerA linguist works with the military to communicate with alien lifeforms after twelve mysterious spacecraft appear around the world.7/10: It is an interesting take on the aliens come to earth premise, but all of the emotional elements are so bland and unconvincing.
- DirectorJustin LinStarsChris PineZachary QuintoKarl UrbanThe crew of the USS Enterprise explores the furthest reaches of uncharted space, where they encounter a new ruthless enemy, who puts them, and everything the Federation stands for, to the test.6/10: It had some fun action, good chemistry between the characters (especially Spock and Bones), had something for all of the characters to do, the story made sense, the villain had a clear goal, and I thoroughly enjoyed everything on the planet. The stuff before and after the planet was a bit dull and felt recycled, the music sequence at the end was annoying, it was a bit too Simon Pegg heavy, and it felt like it was establishing character arcs for Kirk and Spock which had no pay off or much presence in the movie.
- DirectorByron HowardRich MooreJared BushStarsGinnifer GoodwinJason BatemanIdris ElbaIn a city of anthropomorphic animals, a rookie bunny cop and a cynical con artist fox must work together to uncover a conspiracy.6/10: The message was very blunt (though there was some subtle visual stuff to it), the jokes were mostly predictable or recycled from somewhere else, and the twist was obvious. Structurally, the movie was sound and it had some likable characters. There were a couple of funny and clever jokes in the movie as well.
- DirectorMel GibsonStarsAndrew GarfieldSam WorthingtonLuke BraceyWorld War II American Army Medic Desmond T. Doss, serving during the Battle of Okinawa, refuses to kill people and becomes the first man in American history to receive the Medal of Honor without firing a shot.6/10: There are some very impressive and well-done battle sequences in the second half, but the first half is mostly awkward romantic stuff and a couple of forced scenes, with everything else just not being very impressive.
- DirectorOliver StoneStarsJoseph Gordon-LevittShailene WoodleyMelissa LeoThe NSA's illegal surveillance techniques are leaked to the public by one of the agency's employees, Edward Snowden, in the form of thousands of classified documents distributed to the press.6/10: A few stupid aesthetics, some aspects of him in boot camp, Nicholas Cage, and the occasional forced awkward political talk are the only real problems with the movie, which aren't very big problems. The story is slow-moving, but not boring. The relationship subplot between Levitt and Woodley is well handed and adds some extra humanity to him that would have been lost had her role been reduced for the movie. Levitt also does a good job as Snowden.
- DirectorJeremy SaulnierStarsAnton YelchinImogen PootsAlia ShawkatA punk rock band is forced to fight for survival after witnessing a murder at a neo-Nazi skinhead bar.6/10: All of the actors were really good, it had an uncomfortable atmosphere, some good dialogue, some good gore moments, and I liked the main villain played by Patrick Stewart. However, none of the characters had any personality other than Stewart and the action that sets off the plot felt contrived.
- DirectorJames WanStarsVera FarmigaPatrick WilsonMadison WolfeEd and Lorraine Warren travel to North London to help a single mother raising four children alone in a house plagued by a supernatural spirit.6/10: It was very atmospheric, which made the jump scares work, and there were some good performances in it. It was, however, the first movie all over again down to plot details and even a one take shot that sweeps through the house. The design of the demons was also somewhat comical, but never to the point of being overly annoying.
- DirectorAlejandro G. IñárrituStarsLeonardo DiCaprioTom HardyWill PoulterA frontiersman on a fur trading expedition in the 1820s fights for survival after being mauled by a bear and left for dead by members of his own hunting team.6/10: The US release was in 2016. The movie has all of the elements it needs to be at the very least competent. It has good directing, good cinematography, good sound editing, good acting, decent writing, characters that are not interchangeable, and all of the motivations of the characters make sense. There are a few moments where you do question things, like why only Leo and the captain go out looking for Hardy's character when he's clearly dangerous. A good portion of the time, voices in the movie were too quiet and hard to hear and there was at least one point where the music was played too loud and cut off someone's lines. The biggest problem is the ambivalence I felt towards Leo's character's story. He wants revenge on Hardy (which makes sense), but I found Hardy's actions to be understandable for the situation (for the most part) and didn't really care if he got outed or not.
I agree with all of the Oscar nominations it received, with the exception of Best Picture. - DirectorJaume Collet-SerraStarsBlake LivelyÓscar JaenadaAngelo Josue Lozano CorzoA mere 200 yards from shore, surfer Nancy is attacked by a great white shark, with her short journey to safety becoming the ultimate contest of wills.6/10: It had a lot of tension, was very scary, and had a lot of good ideas and well handled moments until the last twenty percent of the movie. Then, it became so focused on showing the shark that it took away any of the terror, and some of the things that happened were fairly ridiculous to the point of harming to movie going experience.
- DirectorTim MillerStarsRyan ReynoldsMorena BaccarinT.J. MillerA wisecracking mercenary gets experimented on and becomes immortal yet hideously scarred, and sets out to track down the man who ruined his looks.5/10: Other than the character of Deadpool, nothing else was done well in this movie. The comedy was pretty hit or miss (mostly miss), the other characters were boring or annoying, with the exception of the love interest. The romance was handled well at first, but it fell apart in a way I found unbelievable after Wilson went through the experiments. The main villain has no overarching motivation and has nothing to him other than a pretty lame superpower.
- DirectorAlessandro CarloniJennifer Yuh NelsonStarsJack BlackBryan CranstonDustin HoffmanContinuing his "legendary adventures of awesomeness", Po must face two hugely epic, but different threats: one supernatural and the other a little closer to home.5/10: It is pretty much all of the other movies: Po needs to learn something in order to defeat a dangerous adversary. It has some funny moments, a decent story and characters (though Po's adoptive father seems a little off), and some good animation.
- DirectorTate TaylorStarsEmily BluntHaley BennettRebecca FergusonA divorcee becomes entangled in a missing persons investigation that promises to send shockwaves throughout her life.5/10: It has a lot of good performances and some interesting characters, but the story is very flat and uninteresting in terms of its mystery, the outcome is predictable at the half-way point, and the twist fails because it wasn't properly established.
- DirectorGareth EdwardsStarsFelicity JonesDiego LunaAlan TudykIn a time of conflict, a group of unlikely heroes band together on a mission to steal the plans to the Death Star, the Empire's ultimate weapon of destruction.5/10: It manages to justify its existence when the story is one anyone familiar with the films already knows, has some decent action, a decent story, and characters that are (mostly) not interchangeable. That being said, the characters aren't very interesting, there were some pacing issues, it was more interested in showing quintessential Star Wars images than anything else, there was bad writing at points, and the villain was underwhelming.
- DirectorTom FordStarsAmy AdamsJake GyllenhaalMichael ShannonA wealthy art gallery owner is haunted by her ex-husband's novel, a violent thriller she interprets as a symbolic revenge tale.5/10: There is very little tension or anything to care about because the majority of the movie is taking place within the narration of a book, so in the film's logic the events are all fictitious and are not happening. The actors all do a great job, except for Amy Adams in her modern day role (she is really good in her scenes with Gyllenhaal), and he present-day character (which is the one we get to see) is flat and boring. There are a number of things that are weird for the sake of being weird, shots and edits and ideas that were strangely put into the movie. I will say the movie is well-directed, well acted, and has some downright gorgeous visuals.
- DirectorAntoine FuquaStarsDenzel WashingtonChris PrattEthan HawkeSeven gunmen from a variety of backgrounds are brought together by a vengeful young widow to protect her town from the private army of a destructive industrialist.4/10: Uninteresting characters that we care nothing for are risking their lives for a mission we couldn't care less about. It's just not very engaging.
- DirectorRobert ZemeckisStarsBrad PittMarion CotillardJared HarrisIn 1942, a Canadian intelligence officer in North Africa encounters a female French Resistance fighter on a deadly mission behind enemy lines. When they reunite in London, their relationship is tested by the pressures of war.4/10: Competently directed and acted, but the romance and characters do not feel genuine, and there are some dumb handling of moments.
- DirectorAndrew StantonAngus MacLaneStarsEllen DeGeneresAlbert BrooksEd O'NeillFriendly but forgetful blue tang Dory begins a search for her long-lost parents and everyone learns a few things about the real meaning of family along the way.4/10: It lacked the adventure, memorable characters, and humor of the first movie, and put a character who should only be a secondary character into the spotlight. There were some creative moments to it, beautiful visuals, and genuinely emotional moments though.
- DirectorDavid F. SandbergStarsTeresa PalmerGabriel BatemanMaria BelloRebecca must unlock the terror behind her little brother's experiences that once tested her sanity, bringing her face to face with a supernatural spirit attached to their mother.4/10: It has a couple of clever moments with light sources, but that's about it. Other than that, it's a fairly generic horror movie with generic scares, little atmosphere (except for the beginning), and a generic ghost look. The characters and their relationships are underdeveloped and the defeat of the villain is anti-climactic.
- DirectorRoland EmmerichStarsLiam HemsworthJeff GoldblumBill PullmanTwo decades after the first Independence Day invasion, Earth is faced with a new extra-Solar threat. But will mankind's new space defenses be enough?4/10: Like almost every other Roland Emmerich movie it was bad, but it wasn't painful. There were a few good ideas in the mix of ideas that were in the movie. There were a couple of needless subplots and characters, and certain action scenes lacked tension. The newer characters were not as likable as the original characters, either. However, I can't say that I was bored while watching it, and there were some unintentionally funny moments in the movie. It was well paced, it always felt like something was happening, there were some fun action scenes, and none of the actors were horrible.
- DirectorBabak NajafiStarsGerard ButlerAaron EckhartMorgan FreemanIn London for the Prime Minister's funeral, Mike Banning is caught up in a plot to assassinate all the attending world leaders.4/10: The first twenty minutes really feel like it's trying to be a comedy, but all of its jokes are unfunny. It keeps seemingly introducing specific characters, even when some of them won't hold any importance later on and we don't actually need to know exactly who they are. The villain's plan is completely convoluted and the mole's motivation makes no sense. The characters are completely interchangeable, and there's a subplot (sort of) with Butler thinking about quitting the Secret Service, but then decides not to, and it is not even dwelled upon in the movie. This is do to bad writing, which isn't surprising given that there are two really dumb lines with blatant factual mistakes that no one noticed.
The action is at the very least fun and exciting, and the movie, while using cheap tricks, does at least get some sort of emotional reaction from you when a specific character dies. I'll also give the movie credit for not spending almost all of its time dedicated to London's landmarks getting blown apart and that is all taken out of the way at the start of the attack. - DirectorPeter BergStarsMark WahlbergKurt RussellDouglas M. GriffinA dramatization of the disaster in April 2010, when the offshore drilling rig called the Deepwater Horizon exploded, resulting in the worst oil spill in American history.4/10: Generic and over-simplified portrayal of the characters, generic score, bad acting, and John Malkovich is overly comical. It does have some good effects and sound, though.
- DirectorBryan SingerStarsJames McAvoyMichael FassbenderJennifer LawrenceIn the 1980s the X-Men must defeat an ancient all-powerful mutant, En Sabah Nur, who intends to thrive through bringing destruction to the world.4/10: I started out loving this movie, then gradually grew to disliking it. There were way too many characters (not too many subplots thankfully), and all of the new ones had no personality, except for Quicksilver. Apocalypse had so many mutant powers he was just able to do anything the plot called for. Storm had nothing to do in the movie and was unneeded, as was Havok, Moira, and Stryker. Wolverine's cameo was completely pointless. Once again, the best scene was with Quicksilver.
To its defense, it was not convoluted and the plot did at least make sense. - DirectorDavid FrankelStarsWill SmithEdward NortonKate WinsletRetreating from life after a tragedy, a man questions the universe by writing to Love, Time, and Death. Receiving unexpected answers, he begins to see how these things interlock and how even loss can reveal moments of meaning and beauty.4/10: Dumbed down, predictable, and simplified pretentiousness is all this movie is. Mixed with horrible pacing, this movie is slow moving and I am unable to even point out where one act ends and the next one begins. Helen Mirren and Naomie Harris are okay in it, everyone else is bland, and Will Smith is just terrible.
- DirectorFede AlvarezStarsStephen LangJane LevyDylan MinnetteHoping to walk away with a massive fortune, a trio of thieves break into the house of a blind man who isn't as helpless as he seems.3/10: The movie is only ninety minutes, and at least half of it is false endings, which makes it feel much longer than it really is. The movie has some creativity to it at first, but it all gets thrown away later on. Needless information and ideas keep getting thrown in to make the movie longer, which just goes to show that this premise is not intended for a feature length film, and would work better as a short film.
- DirectorEthan CoenJoel CoenStarsJosh BrolinGeorge ClooneyAlden EhrenreichA Hollywood fixer in the 1950s works to keep the studio's stars in line.3/10: It's competently directed and well acted, but it is all over the place. It's hard to pinpoint a plot or even an overarching story to the whole thing. The only thing connecting the multiple story lines is the main character, but he just seems completely neutral to everything, especially the offering of a different job. There aren't any real stakes in the movie, the stars of the movie barely star in it, and there isn't a lot of humorous moments in it. With no plot and nothing else to hold your interest, the movie easily feels twice as long as it is.
- DirectorAnthony RussoJoe RussoStarsChris EvansRobert Downey Jr.Scarlett JohanssonPolitical involvement in the Avengers' affairs causes a rift between Captain America and Iron Man.3/10: It seemed like this movie had a lot of good ideas that weren't delivered on. The actual fight and conflict was based on differing ideologies instead of some hack writer saying, "Hey, let's have the heroes fight each other because it would be cool." However, while the differing of ideologies applies to a few of the characters, the reasons behind the split are ludicrous and some of the characters (Hawkeye, Ant-Man, Spiderman) have no reason to even be in the fight. There is at least one plot hole at the end (Black Panther following Cap and Bucky), and Tony's actions at the end of the movie felt very out of character.
- DirectorAdam WingardStarsJames Allen McCuneCallie HernandezCorbin ReidAfter discovering a video showing what he believes to be his vanished sister Heather, James and a group of friends head to the forest believed to be inhabited by the Blair Witch.3/10: Turned one of the few good found-footage movies into a generic horror movie where atmosphere is replaced by loud noises and jump scares. It is essentially just a redo of the original by less competent filmmakers.
- DirectorClay KaytisFergal ReillyStarsJason SudeikisJosh GadDanny McBrideWhen an island populated by happy, flightless birds is visited by mysterious green pigs, it's up to three unlikely outcasts to figure out what the pigs are up to.3/10: The movie is just flat-out obnoxious with unfunny and annoying characters who are unmeasurably dumb, because that's the only way that there can be a plot for the movie. What's also interesting to note is that two of the angry birds aren't angry and the other one is angry for very legitimate reasons, so the plot and the title of the movie are incredibly forced and grasped upon.
- DirectorSam LiuStarsKevin ConroyMark HamillTara StrongAs Batman hunts for the escaped Joker, the Clown Prince of Crime attacks the Gordon family to prove a diabolical point mirroring his own fall into madness.3/10: The first half of the movie is awful. It has bad writing, stupid and pointless characterization, dumb ideas, and it doesn't fit into "The Killing Joke," you know, what the movie is actually about. Then, the second half has decent writing and a good story, but its way of being handled does not translate well from the comic to the screen. Even the animation and character designs fluctuate from well-drawn and detailed to generic and dumb-looking. The only constant in this movie is the good cast.
- DirectorDavis DoiStarsTony AmendolaFelix AvitiaIssac Ryan BrownAfter his father doesn't return from an important journey, Littlefoot and company set out to find him.2/10: Badly written, all the songs are bad and bring the movie to a standstill with the exception of one that actually felt like it had a reason to exist, a lot of the character drama was completely forced, the character of Wild Arms was beyond unbearable, the humor wasn't funny, and the voice acting all sounded wrong for the characters.
- DirectorGreg McLeanStarsKevin BaconRadha MitchellDavid MazouzA family unknowingly awakens an ancient supernatural entity on a Grand Canyon vacation, and must fight for survival when it follows them home.2/10: Instead of a personality, the characters all have a specific quirk that is supposed to make up their character, which makes all of these characters extremely unlikable. Halfway through, the mom and dad switch perspectives on the whole situation. The story is propelled forward by several coincidences, and it is not scary in the slightest. The ending is completely forced with everything wrapped up in a nice little bow at the end (everything works out without any serious repercussions and some story elements are just forgotten about).
- DirectorJon FavreauStarsNeel SethiBill MurrayBen KingsleyAfter a threat from the tiger Shere Khan forces him to flee the jungle, a man-cub named Mowgli embarks on a journey of self discovery with the help of panther Bagheera and free-spirited bear Baloo.2/10: It feels like there is an attempt at a character or story arc for Mowgli, but it really comes out of nowhere and or has no payoff. The villain's motivation is pretty lame and would only make sense to him if he were insane, which I'm fairly certain the villain isn't. The songs don't fit, there is literally no pace or story to the movie, and a lot of the effects are very bad.
- DirectorMike FlanaganStarsJohn Gallagher Jr.Kate SiegelMichael TruccoA deaf and mute writer who retreated into the woods to live a solitary life must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.2/10: It's a dumb horror gimmick, with a dumb character, dumb set-up and payoffs, dumb ideas, and dumb excuses for action and bloodshed in the movie. It's just a really dumb horror movie.
- DirectorMike FlanaganStarsElizabeth ReaserLulu WilsonAnnalise BassoIn 1967 Los Angeles, a widowed mother and her daughters add a new stunt to bolster their seance scam business by inviting an evil presence into their home, not realizing how dangerous it is.2/10: The first one is a discount version of a generic horror movie while this one is a discount version of "The Conjuring," which makes it worse. The horror in the movie is fairly stupid, the characters are one-dimensional, the acting is bad, and it keeps pointlessly making it look like the movie was filmed in the 60's with a blatant filter.
- DirectorIlya NaishullerStarsSharlto CopleyTim RothHaley BennettHenry is resurrected from death with no memory, and he must save his wife from a telekinetic warlord with a plan to bio-engineer soldiers.2/10: The only thing I liked were the overly violent kills in the movie. The rest of the movie was a generic action movie shot in first person, which is a gimmick that only works for about five to ten minutes. The plot twist at the end makes no sense, and it is the movie equivalent of a let's play, which raises the question why we'd want to watch someone else do this stuff when we could be doing it ourselves in an actual game.
- DirectorBrian BaughStarsMasey McLainBen DaviesCameron McKendryThe true story of Rachel Joy Scott, the first student killed in the Columbine High School shooting on April 20, 1999.2/10: Technically the best and least stupid of PureFlix movies, but still horrendous. Awful acting and writing, propaganda-based twisting of reality, and forced drama makes this a pathetic embarrassment for anyone involved.
- DirectorRobert EggersStarsAnya Taylor-JoyRalph InesonKate DickieA family in 1630s New England is torn apart by the forces of witchcraft, black magic and possession.2/10: It's not scary; it's just annoying. The music is good, but it is blasted out loud and is trying too hard to be used to create atmosphere, the actors can't annunciate their dialogue, it is very grating at certain points, the characters are not well-established, and they all act very uncharacteristically throughout the entire movie.
- DirectorJason ZadaStarsNatalie DormerEoin MackenStephanie VogtA young woman's desperate search for her twin sister brings her to a ghost-filled stretch of wilderness known as the 'Suicide Forest.'1/10: To put it simply, this movie is bland and forgettable. I actually forgot I watched this movie about five minutes after I walked out of the theater. I forgot this movie while I was watching it. A lot of the character's choices and logic doesn't make sense, there are no characters in this movie, the acting is usually bad, a lot of the scares happen when the main character is dreaming, so we know nothing can harm her, and it has a lot of cheap jump scares in the movie.
- DirectorHarold CronkStarsMelissa Joan HartJesse MetcalfeDavid A.R. WhiteWhen a high school teacher is asked a question in class about Jesus, her response lands her in deep trouble.0/10: Everything this movie does is terrible, but it does succeed in improving one problem from the first movie. The first movie was embarrassingly cringe-worthy for Christians and embarrassingly offensive to Atheists and Muslims. This one is only embarrassingly cringe-worthy to Christians and embarrassingly offensive to Atheists.
The story is illogical, it forces in pointless drama, characters, and character sub-plots, and acts like it is proving a point when it is more in line with propaganda than truth of what is actually happening. - DirectorZack SnyderStarsBen AffleckHenry CavillAmy AdamsBatman is manipulated by Lex Luthor to fear Superman. Superman´s existence is meanwhile dividing the world and he is framed for murder during an international crisis. The heroes clash and force the neutral Wonder Woman to reemerge.0/10: Superman and Batman have interchangeable ideologies, which makes them boring and hypocritical when it comes to their dispute with each other. Everything that happens seems built on either coincidence or character stupidity. All of the characters are uninteresting, and Eisenberg's Lex Luthor is one of the worst character adaptations (maybe characters in general) and performances I've seen in some time. The movie just leaves you feeling depressed; and not because of that stupid ending that thinks we're all too stupid to figure out what happened didn't really happen. The stuff dealing with people's opinion on whether Superman was a hero or a menace was the only idea in the movie I liked, but it is done so poorly and is so forced that it is annoyingly hamhanded. The entire thing is boring and melancholy.
- DirectorPaul FeigStarsMelissa McCarthyKristen WiigKate McKinnonFollowing a ghost invasion of Manhattan, paranormal enthusiasts Erin Gilbert and Abby Yates, nuclear engineer Jillian Holtzmann, and subway worker Patty Tolan band together to stop the otherworldly threat.0/10: The comedy was obvious, bottom of the barrel garbage that wasn't funny, the four Ghostbusters were exactly the same character except with differing amounts of quirk, the villain and his motivation were lame and very forced, the story structure was atrocious, the references to the first movie were annoying, the movie is filled with a lot of groan moments, the ending fight has a massive plot hole in it, the method of defeating ghosts is not consistent, there is no creativity or imagination to anything in the movie, and even Dan Aykroyd looked and sounded like he didn't want to be there. The only decent thing was Kate McKinnon, and that's only because she added some amount of personality to her general description of "quirkiest Ghostbuster."
- DirectorDavid AyerStarsWill SmithJared LetoMargot RobbieA secret government agency recruits some of the most dangerous incarcerated super-villains to form a defensive task force. Their first mission: save the world from the apocalypse.0/10: Other than Margot Robbie, everything was terrible. The characters lacked consistency and most lacked personality, the story structure was awful, the inclusion of Joker was pointless, the acting transcended awful, Amanda Waller was more villain than anti-hero, the movie's place in the timeline was poorly chosen, some of the characters didn't even do anything, the dialogue was atrocious, the directing was choppy, the editing made the fight sequences confusing, and they all acted like one big family when that never should have been the case.
- DirectorConrad VernonGreg TiernanStarsSeth RogenKristen WiigJonah HillA sausage leads a group of supermarket products on a journey to discover the truth about their existence and what really happens when they are picked off the shelf.0/10: Comedically, it is unfunny with the same jokes reiterated over and over again. Story-wise, it is overly convenient. The animation is bad, the dialogue is bad and annoying, and the entire movie is very irritating. The entire movie is a gimmick of 'this is an animated movie, but it's not for kids.' At least "Ghostbusters," while a giant gimmick, had more to it than this.
