2010: My favorite Russian movies
2010 was a very successful year for Russian cinema. The main film of the year about Russia is the film as Sergei Loznitsa's "My Joy", which formally can not be considered Russian, since it was made for money from Germany and the Netherlands. My Top 3 of 42 Russian movies in 2010: Aleksey Popogrebskiy's "How I Ended This Sumer" (Silver Bear of the Berlin Film Festival), Aleksey Balabanov's "A Stoker" and Anton Bormatov's "The Alien Girl"(Best Action 2010). Some films, like Aleksandr Kott's "The Brest Fortress" and Yuriy Bykov's "To Live!", were very popular with the audience. Estimates of such remarkable films as Svetlana Proskurina's "Truce" (the main prize of the Kinotavr Film Festival) and Alexei Fedorchenko's "Silent Souls" were greatly underestimated, in my opinion. The most popular Russian film and the best comedy of 2010 - "Six Degrees of Celebration" (Gross: $22,77M)!
