Mind Bending / Intellectual Movies

I always craved for complications in movies. Not weirdness, but complication. Like, after watching a movie, when you say to yourself: "what on earth was that? let me see that movie again!"
So, I created this list which contains confusing/intellectual movies, yet have a logical base , which can be explained. Not some some idiotic stupid movie like Mulholland Dr.
I don't care what critics or somebody else say, I don't care if a movie has high budget CGI, the only thing I care about is logical explanation.

I am talking about the movies, which confuses the viewer, I am not talking about confused director. :-D
The movies listed here, have some kind of "basis"; at least, it has been explained logically within the movie.

There is no particular "order", I just update this list as the movies come to my mind.
Suggestions are always welcome. :-)

Here are the movies from this list, which are "flawed", or can't be explained logically:
Fight Club
Black Swan
Mulholland Dr.
Lost Highway
Chasing Sleep
Source Code

The movie eXistenZ can be explained as long as it goes, but it ends kind of unexpectedly. So the user (viewer) doesn't get the complete "input" to make a conclusion at the end.

The movie has fantastic elements of science fiction, and philosophy but Carruth portrayed scientific discovery and whole movie in a down-to-earth, and realistic manner.

This movie won tons of awards.
Shane Carruth is the director, producer, one of the two protagonist, music composer, and the editor of the movie.

A comedy-road movie.
Just like Back To The Future trilogy, this movie depicts metaphysics, and time travel in a light hearted humorous way. This movie is also rich with philosophy (not at all in boring manner), everything is humorous, and interesting. The movie also discusses about parallel universe, and alternate dimensions.
Just a little confusing, a tiny bit of complicated but a lot funny and highly intellectual.

A must watch for everybody.

There 35 years old Oldman reveals that he never ages, and his original age is around 14,000 years.
During the course of the conversation, John's colleagues question his story according to their specialities. Later, the discussion takes some wrong turns, and twists; where Oldman's colleagues, and the viewers reach to three conclusions:
1: Oldman is playing a joke.
2: He is a nutcase, and needs help of psychotherapist.
3: He might be telling the truth.

In the last 10 minutes of the movie, there is a huge twist.

The film tells the life story of Nemo Nobody, a 118 year-old man. Nemo, memory fading, refers to his three main loves and to his parent's divorce and subsequent hardships endured at three main moments in his life; him at age nine, fifteen and thirty-four.
Nemo tells the story including alternate life paths,
often changing course with the flick of a decision at each of those ages.
Later, it is revealed that Nemo can see the future (similar to Nicholas Cage from "Next") with endless possibilities.
The film uses nonlinear narrative. It also depicts the the different lives of Nemo according to his different decisions.
The movie ends with one minor, and one huge twist.

PROT is a patient at a mental hospital who claims to be from a far away planet. His psychiatrist tries to help him, only to begin to doubt his own explanations. (120 mins.)
Director: Iain Softley
“ Based on the novel of same title by Gene Brewer.
A person (Spacey) claims to be an alien, from a planet by the name "K-PAX". He is committed to the Psychiatric Institute of Manhattan. There, the psychiatrist (Bridges) attempts to cure him of his apparent delusions. Spacey provides answer to all the questions, including asked by astrophysicists.
As the movie progresses, Bridges, and viewer both get confused: Is Spacey a nut-case or is he really from K-PAX?

Even the end of that movie confuses the viewer.
The climax leaves the decision up to audience. But unlike Mulholland Drive, Chasing Sleep, or Lost Highway: there is no symbolism. The end is something like Memento by Nolan.
Hats off to the novel, and the movie K-PAX.

Director: Edgar Wright
“ Okay, I know this movie is not the "list material", but I couldn't help myself.

Unlike other alien movies, this one isn't about "invasion"; "its a merger".

Movie begins with reunion of five school-friends for an unfinished pub crawl, "the Golden Mile", encompassing twelve pubs.
The movie almost ends up at the twelfth pub, "the World's End". This incidents taken at the secret chamber of the pub really get me up. :-D

As an added bonus, the movie stars brilliant actors like Martin Freeman, Nick Frost, Paddy Considine, Rosamund Pike with cameos of Bill Nighy and Pierce Brosnan.

It is a movie per episode.
Three episodes per year. The peak of perfection in every episode.

Beats all the Sherlock Holmes adaptations ever.
