“ Weird for weird's sake as far as i could tell. I wouldn't recommend it but it has it's good points. Like Vincent Gallo putting on a hilariously bad accent and generally acting like a freak, plus a sweet soundtrack by Vitalic.

“ Heavier than i'd expected going in. I really liked the sense of realism brought about by the real life relationship between the 2 leads. The director Amiel Courtin-Wilson was around for a Q and A after the film and claimed the film was influenced in equal parts by Stan Brakhage, John Cassavetes and Tobe Hooper, it seems like a contradictory mix but he's somehow managed to pull it off.

“ It didn't exactly break any new ground in terms of filmmaking but that's beside the point when you have a subject as interesting as Ai Weiwei. An incredible artist making some of the most important work of the present day.

“ I've been a huge fan of this band for years, mainly for the work up until the late 80's. Unfortunately, the film went past those years which kind of soured the experience. No-one wants to see people they respect in a state of mental collapse and creative disarray.
