1. The Royal Tenenbaums (2001)
R | 110 min | Comedy, Drama
A clan's estranged patriarch loses his home and learns that his ex-wife plans to remarry.
Votes: 231,474 | Gross: $52.36M
This is a comedy? Didn't laugh once! Boring, washed up plot, uninteresting characters and just an empty film. It would be better if the movie was represented as family drama...
2. The Usual Suspects (1995)
R | 106 min | Crime, Mystery, Thriller
A sole survivor tells of the twisty events leading up to a horrific gun battle on a boat, which began when five criminals met at a seemingly random police lineup.
Votes: 842,038 | Gross: $23.34M
it was okay movie, but 8.7 no way, maybe if I hadn't watch Se7en or similar newer movies I would rate it high too, I knew that Spacey was a killer...criple, inteligent....c'mon.....and there were a tons of situations were the plan could go wrong, and if Soze is so powerfull why risk so much...don't buy it...
3. Ghost in the Shell (1995)
Not Rated | 83 min | Animation, Action, Crime
A cyborg policewoman and her partner hunt a mysterious and powerful hacker called the Puppet Master.
Votes: 106,410 | Gross: $0.52M
Very good animation, excellent soundtrack, cyberpunk atmosphere and very complex storyline, but in the other hand: poor storytelling, fuzzy and confusing script, shallow characters and overall big dissapoitment...too bad storytelling and overall direction was so bad, it could have been a great movie. Maybe I could try rewatch it, maybe...but I don't think so.
4. The Raid: Redemption (2011)
R | 101 min | Action, Crime, Thriller
A S.W.A.T. team becomes trapped in a tenement run by a ruthless mobster and his army of killers and thugs.
Votes: 164,754 | Gross: $4.11M
It was okay movie, very graphic and violent. But all that non-stop action gets little repetitive at times...
5. Watchmen (2009)
R | 162 min | Action, Drama, Mystery
In 1985 where former superheroes exist, the murder of a colleague sends active vigilante Rorschach into his own sprawling investigation, uncovering something that could completely change the course of history as we know it.
Votes: 428,357 | Gross: $107.51M
Blury, boring and bad...yes 3 b' for this one. Worst comic book adaption! Snyder really blew it, bad casting, characters, screenplay, even the story is boring, and I am a big fan...really bad!
6. Adaptation. (2002)
R | 114 min | Comedy, Drama
A lovelorn screenwriter becomes desperate as he tries and fails to adapt 'The Orchid Thief' by Susan Orlean for the screen.
Votes: 157,492 | Gross: $22.25M
I'll have to watch this again.
7. Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind (2004)
R | 108 min | Drama, Romance, Sci-Fi
When their relationship turns sour, a young couple undergoes a medical procedure to have each other erased from their memories.
Votes: 762,943 | Gross: $34.40M
Extremely overrated! Original screenplay and solid acting are only things worth remember in this movie, this movie isn't bad, but 8.2, come'on!
8. Blade Runner (1982)
R | 117 min | Sci-Fi, Thriller
A blade runner must pursue and try to terminate four replicants who stole a ship in space and have returned to Earth to find their creator.
Votes: 575,029 | Gross: $27.00M
There's no way to deny the influence that Blade Runner had on sci/fi. It's hard to imagine a hollywood studio doing a movie like this one these days. I can see what the movie did, what it was trying to achieve, and what it certainly achieved for the most part. I can see why it is so influential, but as whole it's not a movie i'm going to remember. It's an ambitious film, but an overall flawed affair.
9. Ying xiong (2002)
PG-13 | 107 min | Action, Adventure, History
A defense officer, Nameless, was summoned by the King of Qin regarding his success of terminating three warriors.
Votes: 159,967 | Gross: $53.71M
I dont like highly staged fighting, involving wires and flying through the air etc. And considering 99% of the fighting (and therefore 90% of the movie) was that style of fighting, I didnt really enjoy it. Very minimal diaglog, story was confusing for me, and I didnt get very into it.
10. The Thin Red Line (1998)
R | 170 min | Drama, War
Adaptation of James Jones' autobiographical 1962 novel, focusing on the conflict at Guadalcanal during the second World War.
Votes: 152,602 | Gross: $36.40M
This is the first and the last movie which do the impossible: it made WW2 boring! I don't know how the hell he (malick) does it, he literally destroys every single movie he directs with his "I like earth" philosophy, which means shooting grass and trees, I know he is not for everyone, but this is just to much: he shoots a fierce battle in the first scene and in the second one he shoots freaking grass and trees, I mean c'mon...Mr. Maick please look up to Mr. Spielberg and his Saving Pvt Ryan, that's how WW2 movie must be done!
11. Up (2009)
PG | 96 min | Animation, Adventure, Comedy
Seventy-eight year old Carl Fredricksen travels to Paradise Falls in his home equipped with balloons, inadvertently taking a young stowaway.
Votes: 773,536 | Gross: $293.00M
I really don't see why this movie is so praised, I mean, the movie is good and the animation is perfect, but plot, characters, all that had been seen many times before!
12. The Hangover (2009)
R | 100 min | Comedy
Three buddies wake up from a bachelor party in Las Vegas, with no memory of the previous night and the bachelor missing. They make their way around the city in order to find their friend before his wedding.
Votes: 635,921 | Gross: $277.32M
This wasn't as funny as people talk, includes second part as well.
13. Syriana (2005)
R | 128 min | Drama, Thriller
A politically charged epic about the state of the oil industry in the hands of those personally involved and affected by it.
Votes: 116,588 | Gross: $50.82M
I REALLY expected to like this movie, but I REALLY did not like it. I understand all of the politics and the subplots, but the subplots were so choppy and shallow that I found them very unsatisfying.
14. Flags of our Fathers (2006)
R | 135 min | Drama, History, War
The life stories of the six men who raised the flag at the Battle of Iwo Jima, a turning point in World War II.
Votes: 107,991 | Gross: $33.60M
After first 20 minutes this movie is becoming very boring!
